Jack Nicklaus - His March Through the Majors
Released in DVD by Steeplechase Entertainment (08 May, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Jack Nicklaus
Average review score:

Buckeyes and Palm Trees
Both my parents went to college with Jack back in Columbus so maybe my five-star rating is just a little biased. But if you can get over that sit back for an hour and enjoy the good old days when blonde hair and the one iron ruled the fairways. I was amazed that CBS and ABC acutually came together with voice experts McCay and Nantz to help me remember the sights and sounds (not to mention music by the likes of The Who and other rock legends). When Sanders blows his chance at St. Andrews, he comes in and actually tells you HOW he lost to the golden bear! Expertly photographed and insight from Jack's own family and friends, this tape could well go on to become a collectors item.

Enthusiastically recommended viewing
Jack Nicklaus: His March Through The Majors showcases the inspiring life and spectacular career of Jack Nicklaus, a premier champion in the game of golf. Viewers are treated to footage of Nicklaus' four major championships and record-breaking 18 titles won over a forty year career. This outstanding visual presentation is enhanced and augmented with informative interviews with Jack's wife Barbara, his son, Jack Nicklaus II, and a range of contemporaries from Arnold Palmer to Lee Trevino. Also available in a VHS video cassette (price), Jack Nicklaus: His March Through The Majors is enthusiastically recommended viewing for anyone who has ever thrilled to a Jack Nicklaus performance on the greens.

Supremely Inspiring
A magnificent look at golf's greatest player...wonderfully put together with fine commentary by Jim McKay and Jim Nantz. I was too young to remember Jack's earlier years, but this look at his 18 major championship victories has given me a new appreciation for what Jack Nicklaus has meant to the game of golf (and for what a daunting task Tiger has ahead of him!). His victories at places like St. Andrews and Pebble Beach are beautifully documented here, but the true highlight of this film is its dramatic look at his Sunday charge at the 1986 Masters...probably the most emotional and inspiring day in the history of the game. Jim Nantz walks us through Augusta's back nine on that incredible day in a segment that will leave you cheering (and wishing you had been there!).
Since the program focuses on Jack's victories, some of his classic duels with Tom Watson (particularly the 1977 British Open at Turnberry and the 1982 US Open at Pebble Beach) are omitted. However, there are enough gems in this 180-minute DVD to have you hitting putts in your living room and wishing that, just for a day, you could play the game like Jack Nicklaus.

Propaganda (White Knuckle Extreme)
Released in DVD by Image Entertainment (13 November, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: John DeCesare and C.R. Johnson
Strictly for aficionados of what used to be called "hot dog" skiing, Propaganda amounts to an hourlong display of extreme-ski routines by a who's who of the stars of the sport, set to mostly speed-metal tunes (Motley Crue is about as mainstream as the music gets). There is no plot or narration-- just a lengthy highlights reel of skiers such as J.F. Cusson, J.P. AuClair, Julien Regneir, and Jon Olsson, doing everything from skiing virgin powder down drastic mountainsides to performing loop-the-loops in man-made snow tunnels to doing tricks on stairs, roofs, and railings around various ski lodges. If you're looking for insight into this sport, you're better off watching ESPN. But for strictly visual sensations, this is the DVD for you. DVD features include two music videos and brief interviews with Cusson, AuClair, and Steele Spence. --Marshall Fine

This is a Phat movie and if your a Phat Skier you should buy
I have never seen this video but i no its sick because its called Propoganda!

One of the best since "13"
Those of you lucky enough to have a copy of "13" will find this to be a good companian video.

The best "extra" is the director's commentary, but the extra segments don't do much for me.

This is purely a new school video as are most Poor Boyz Productions movies. A decent soundtrack done music video style with the song/artist listed at the begining of each segment.

the best ski movie ever!
In this movie propaganda you witness some of the worlds best new school skiers in there amzing abilities whether you see there amazing hip jumps or incredible half pipe hits propaganda proves to be the best ski movie this year, and if that isnt enough to persaude you to buy it then hear this, witness JP Auclair complete the first ever 360 degree loop, or jon olsson set the world record with his hip jumps, or JF cussons massive 1/4 pipe hits, and C.R. Johnsons inverted 900 over a 110ft jump possibly the biggest aerial maneuver ever, and watch mike douglas take the new school to the back country, also check out highlights from the world ski invitational and last years x-games. with summer on the way putting a damper on your skiing let propaganda get you back in to the skiing mood.

48 Championship Basketball Drills
Released in DVD by Youth Sports Club (20 September, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)

Coach Schupak Does It Again!
Just exhausted watching coach Schupak's "59 Minute Baseball Practice" going from fall baseball to recreation basketball. Thought the baseball video was great! This basketball DVD does it all also! Only objection is that in some of the drills, the players are dribbling with their heads down unlike what we dads were taught in "Ball Handling 101". Nevertheless, great flow and very creative.
Hey Coach, I need you to produce a rock solid Lacrosse video.

Great Item!
This basketball DVD is a great item for all who love to improve their youth league basketball team. Some of the drills I was familiar with but others were a plus for someone like me who thinks I know it all coaching youth basketball for 14 years. I don't and neither do you! So this is a first rate item. First year coaches will love it. Dedicated experienced youth and school coaches will also benefit and should do like I did, take your laptop to practice and show your squad some of the drills.
Many sports instructional items aren't worth the money. This one is worth every penny!

First Rate Basketball Drills
This DVD is first rate for those looking for a variety of basketball drills. The drills are divided into different topics such as shooting, rebounding, passing etc. The DVD menu makes it easy to navigate and all the drills seem useful though I always found myself going back to the wonderful shooting drills. Basketball technique is not the main objective but there is a nice section on form shooting. Coaches from the youth level through middle school will achieve the most success instituting these drills in their practice sessions. This is a definite thumbs up!

Dave Mirra's Trick Tips, Vol. 1 - BMX Basics
Released in DVD by Redline Entertainment -- Red - (23 October, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Dave Mirra
BMX beginners and pre-beginners would do well to get absorbed in this primer on basic trick techniques. Dave Mirra, a.k.a. "The Miracle Man" for his phenomenal success as a X athlete, is the right man to guide one through essential tricks on flat ground and ramps. He's not alone, of course. Special guests Ryan Nyquist, Kip Williamson, and Colin Winkelmann are also there to show us how to choose and buy a bike, how to execute a few parking lot tricks (180 bunny hop, 360 bunny hop, etc.), how to perform more advanced maneuvers on the grind box (the feeble grind, double-peg grind, smith grind), and what to do on a mini-ramp. It's all straightforward but quite friendly; the enthusiasm of Mirra and company is certainly infectious and makes one want to try a box jump as soon as possible. --Tom Keogh

For the TRUE beginner
Just learned to ride that BMX of yours? You will want to pick this dvd up if you want to get to the ramps. Not much in the way of flatland/freestyle riding. Just enough to get you going for the ramps. I don't have any skate parks near me so flatland/freestyle is the most I can hope for. Why do they tear down kids dirt ramps in vacant fields? I'm 25 and I say it stinks! Anyhow, the real beginner will appreciate this dvd, and so will mom and dad. Covers safety often and most importantly (to mom and dad's wallet) what to look for in a first bike! GET TO IT!

Great Beggining Point for BMX
I have been riding BMX for years and I'm very good. I wish I had this movie when I started off. REcently my friend let me borrow the movie. I watched it and it was awesome. BMX can be a hard sport and can be kind of dangerous but with this movie you can have an easier. I am 15 and have been BMXing since I was 7 years old. If I have had that movie then I would have been a lot better. I hear that volume 2 is going to be so much better with more advancr tricks. I'm more of a dirt jumper and I hear there will be dirt juming in it. This movie makes you wanna get your bike and go out and ride. So what ever you do don't watch it on a rainy day.

Dave Mirra Trick Video
This is an extremely important video to watch if you are just begining ramp riding or perhaps want to improve your existing skills. He covers barspins, roll backs/fakie's, manuals, bunny hops, grinds, fly out's, peg stall drop in's and a lot more. Dave Mirra and his crew ( including Ryan Nyquist and other's) take you step by step into the tricks. I strongly advise this video if you want to learn the right way and minimize injury's.It runs at a good pace and good quality video work. It also takes you all the way to Dave Mirra's house where he gives you a personal tour!

Drive - My Life in Skateboarding
Released in DVD by Image Entertainment (25 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Mike Vallely
If skateboarding has its St. Paul, then that brittle apostle may very well be Mike Vallely. Intense, serious, purposeful to a fault, Vallely took to the (still vaguely disreputable) sport in the early 1980s and found not just a hobby but a ticket to personal expression bordering on the mystic. Instantly embraced by the then-reigning champions of skateboarding (e.g., Lance Mountain), Vallely became legendary for the intuitive brilliance of his movements and stunts. This 55-minute documentary finds him still in great form and inspired by an alternative vision of the world as a miracle of potential: walls, sidewalks, and benches awaiting the brushstroke of his motion. Like Paul, Vallely has loads to say (in an unnervingly repressed voice) wherever he goes; here he picks up converts in Russia, Alaska, and Finland. Vallely may never be an ambassador of cheer, but he has the soul of an artist and prophet. --Tom Keogh

Great, the only word needed
Honestly this is the BEST movie/Dcoumetry I have ever seen. I am a fan of Skateboarding, of Mike Vallely, and of life....So this just hits home, and hard! IF you never watch another movie, watch this first. IT might not change your life but you think about it diffrently. its worht more then you will ever pay for it! "You want to change your life? Start with your perspective!"

Mike V. is Zen Master
This is one of the best sk8 videos I ever. Mike V is truly a deep, thoughtful, talented, dedicated, tough, sk8er. This video drives that home. It follows Mike on a criss-cross journey around the USA and other countries, on a mission to "promote skating as a positive form of creative Self expression".
The skating is great. Mike V does some sick tricks. He has one of the most unique styles around. Nobody does the stuff he does. But he also is one of the most thoughtful and insightful sk8ers around. All of the scenes are voiced over with his thoughts and perceptions about sk8ing and life in general. He takes the time to drive down to Florida to visit a fan with cancer. He drives his own car 1000+ miles to go meet & hang out with a child that may not live long enough to ever sk8 again. And he does it simply because he wanted the kid to have a positive experience about sk8ing and a chance to make one day in his life better.Mike V. is dedicated to his beliefs on a level that few people can even perceive let alone achieve.
The cinematography is gorgeous. The music is good. The sk8ing is rad. Buy this DVD if you like Mike V. Buy this DVD if you like Sk8ing. Buy this DVD if you simply want to watch something that makes you want to deepen your convictions, whatever they may be.

Positive, inspiring, and worth your time.
This is the greatest skateboarding related video I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot). Not so much for the skating that's in it (which is pretty great), but for the message in it. If you are a skater, were a skater, know a skater and you want to understand it better, get this. Now. No excuses. Mike Vallely is a true ambassador of good will for skateboarding, and this video proves it. If you're dissapointed by this video, then you don't love skateboarding. It was far better than I expected and presents a message that the entire skateboarding community needs to hear. And there is some pretty great skating to go along with it.

Go Paddle - Beginning to Intermediate Kayak and sit-on-top
Released in DVD by (30 May, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: TJ Walker
Average review score:

Excellent resource for entry level kayakers!
I bought this DVD BEFORE I bought my kayak. After watching it, I was able to make an informed decision on the type of kayaking I wanted to do and the type of kayak I needed to meet my needs. In addition, it explains proper paddle and safety techniques. Once I bought the kayak and went paddling a few times, I found it helpful to watch the video again to review my paddle technique. I highly recommend you watch this video before you purchase a kayak if you are unsure of the type of kayak you want. Very informative!

Superbe. The best of its kind!
I was just able to watch this DVD and was very impressed. Firstly, I wanted to comment on the production which is really a step forward in this genre of film. The editing is slick and clean. The audio is concice and well mastered.

But what's important here is what the film covers. From a complete beginner, to someone with limited experience looking to improve the paddling experience, increase safety and basically have more fun, this video touches on all the little bits of information that are necessary, but that could take a lifetime to learn on ones own. If you're even just a weekend worrior, and paddle 2 or three times a year, this video is well worth watching for its wealth of information.

Great instructional for those who want a quick-start
If you want to get into kayaking and experience the outdoors, I recommend this video.

Key sections covered in this Video include a brief but thought provoking discussion of kayak design characteristics and how they affect its performance, safety and personal equipment, launching in a variety of situations, paddle strokes, bracing to prevent capsizing, and exiting and re-entry into your boat if it does happen.

I wish I had this video before I got my first touring boat last season, since I am now considering a much different style and size for my needs. If you are just getting into kayaking, I suggest you consider this video even before you get your first boat. The discussion on kayaks will definitely help you decide what kind of boat you would like to paddle, and make the smartest purchase decision for your needs.

The material covered is so general, if you are planning on getting into creek running, touring or even weekend cottage fishing, this video will definitely send you onto the water with ideas about the skills you need to develop to make your paddling experience more fun, and more safe!

The only missing information from this video is thorough coverage of roll techniques. I expect this is deliberate though, as you should learn this from a certified or experienced instructor. (Immediately when you get your boat.)

Happy paddling!

Kurt Warner's Good Sports Gang, Episode 1: Elliot the Invincible

Grandma Gives Thumbs Up to the Gang!
I have two grandchildren ages 4-7, which is such an impressionable time in their life. The Good Sports Gang teaches them valuable lessons of cooperating and having faith in one another. The 4-year old not only knows all of the characters names and all the songs - but he now knows all of the dialect too!! I know that grandmothers across the globe can give this to their grandchildren and not be disappointed. Oftentimes when kids play sports they only hear the focus of win, win, win. The message in the Good Sports Gang is to believe in yourself and God will take care of the rest. Can't wait to bless my grandkids with Episode Two for Christmas.

Good, wholesome fun with a great message for kids.
The Good Sports Gang is a big favorite in my family. Coach Warner and his adorable little gang entertain young children with a captivating story about believing in yourself. My twin daughter and son (4) love the animated characters, catchy songs and, importantly, learn valuable moral lessons about being kind to others and not giving up on yourself. It's refreshing these days to find children's entertainment with a positive message that kids really like. We can't wait to see what the Good Sports Gang is up to next!

KID'S LOVE IT!
MY CHILDREN, AGES 5 & 10 HAVE WATCHED IT OVER AND OVER. BOTH ENJOY IT AND THERE ARE GOOD LESSONS ON HOW BULLYING CAN HURT OTHERS FEELINGS, AND DON'T GIVE UP TRYING TO FIND WHAT YOU ARE GOOD AT.

Revelation 199

MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Action Sports and Travis Pastrana

Good for kids
This is an exciting movie that does not contain all of the adult only stuff that most "off road" movies have. My kids love it.

The Wonder Boy lives up to his image.
Having seen Travis Pastrana actually perform live at the X-Games in Philly, I wasn't sure if his movie could live up to a live performance. Boy was I wrong. This movie is probably the best motocross video I have ever seen. Because, you don't just see him doing tricks and acting stupid, you actually see him and his life. However, the tricks that he performs are astonishing. This kid is an amazing rider. I have seen him doing freestyle tricks and racing in Las Vegas of this year. All I have to say is that if you like motocross, you have to get this or give it as a present. It's well worth it. 199 will live on forever!

Travis Pastrana- Teenage Prodigy
This video gives a great behind the helmet look in Pastrana's racing/freestyle career. It incorperates racing footage of Travis's first races back in his Loretta Lynn days, gnarley tricks, such as the recliner and the can-can, and an inside look at his family. This is a great video for avid racing fans or for the newcomers to the sport. It was put together very well with great music, awesome footage from Travis's life, and quite a few hilarious moments. I loved this video and I am sure you will too.

Unhittable - No Hitters, Perfect Games and Near Misses

I LOVE IT!
This is a must get DVD for any Baseball fan and a Great gift for any Baseball fan. It has the complete 55 minute show about No Hitters, Perfect Games and Near Misses. It has a nice historical look at it and centers on the Multiple No Hit Pitchers Like Johnny Vandermier, Sandy Kofax and Nolan Ryan. The DVD has a special significance to me because I became a California Angels Fan (now Aniheim Angles) when I was 13 and that year (75) the first game I ever listened to on the radio (Dick Enburg and Don Drysdale Anouncing) Nolan tossed his 4th No Hitter Tying Sandy Kofax record at the time; on his way to 7 total, an unbeleavle feat. TheDVD also Hghlights the great pictures who did not get no no and the ones who had to wait a long time like Tom Terrific Sever. It also has bonus footage of the final three outs for no hitters by Sever, Saberhagen, Gooden, Leiter, Milton and Nomo; And a Nolan Ryan Workout. So I will reiterate This is a must get DVD for any Baseball fan and a Great gift for any Baseball fan.

Nolan Ryan Rules!
This recap of stellar performances by baseball's greatest (and sometimes lucky) pitchers is highlighted by Nolan Ryan's collection of no-hitters. In addition to a fun 50 minutes of highlights, the dvd offers a couple of great special features, including a menu offering the last inning of 6 different no-hitter games.

A great addition to any baseball fan's DVD collection.
This is a great video recapping outstanding pitching performances, no-hitters, and perfect games. It takes you back to the 1938 games of Johnny Vander Meer on up to the seven no-hitter's thrown by Nolan Ryan. A great addition to any baseball fan's collection.
