Roy Firestone, from ESPN's Up Close, takes us through some of the greatest moments in golfing history. Firestone provides commentary on the miraculous shots, stunning upsets, and classic rivalries that make up the history of the game. The video is set up in four chapters. The first focuses on one-on-one rivalries, including Nicklaus versus Palmer, Tway versus Norman, Faldo versus Strange, and Duval versus Tiger. The second segment examines some of the tightest pressure plays ever made, including Trevino in the 1972 British Open and Tom Kite in the 1992 U.S. Open. But pressure plays are not just in men's golf; witness the unbelievable shots from the likes of Betsy King from the 1987 Dinah Shore Tournament. The third section explores the high drama of the most important tournaments. These segments comprise footage from Mize in the 1987 Masters, Hubert Green in the 1977 Open, and Bobby Jones in a myriad of comebacks. The fourth part takes a look at the most amazing shots ever: 100-foot putts, eagles, impossible chips, aces, and of course some of the more costly bogies. If you've got a passion for two-wheeled, adrenalin-pumping thrills, then Superbike World Championship 2001 should set your heartbeat racing. This three-hour DVD offers complete 13-round, 26-race coverage of superbike racing's 2001 season, from Valencia, Spain, to Imola, Italy, and camera coverage for each race is breathtakingly thorough. A pedestal regular on his blazing Castrol Honda, defending 2000 champ Colin Edwards (U.S.) would eventually lose his title to Australia's Ducati-riding Troy Bayliss, but the season offered intense competition from other strong contenders like the U.S.'s Ben Bostrom (third overall). Highlights include the treacherous, rain-soaked first race at Phillip Island, Australia, and Brit favorite Neil Hodgson's crowd-pleasing first-race win on his native track at Donington, U.K. Bike-mounted cameras add on-track excitement, and well-designed DVD menus offer comprehensive seasonal summaries and all-time statistics. The expert commentator and camera crew remain inexplicably uncredited, but this is a must-have DVD for superbike fans, and a sharp introduction for newcomers. --Jeff Shannon
