2002 Tour de France - Four and Counting! (4 hr DVD)
Released in DVD by (15 October, 2002)

A solid video with no extras
This World Cycling Production is good review of the 2002 tour.
The narration by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen is professional and the odd spots by Gary Imlach are always fun and informative. Each stage is given own highlight with the major breaks displayed.

The production is less than stellar it views more like an ESPN highlight reel than well though out show. There are numerous picture break-ups and blips caused by broadcast foul-ups. For near $[amount] charged I expect a less slap-dash affair. Another annoyance is the total lack of DVD extras. The 2001 version had few extra highlights from previous Tours at the end, the 2002 version was conspicuously lacking. This a good video but a poor value.

WCP does put out a ten hour multi-DVD set of the 2002 Tour for the total fanatic.

High on Denali
The flick starts slowly, but eventually gives a good overall view of the West Buttress Route on Denali. A fair look at the climbing skills needed, good details on the campsites used, and hard facts about the weather challenges every team faces on that mountain. I loved the views from high on the mountain.

gets right to the point!
i bought this dvd a month ago and i think its a good video if you have never drifted like i have. it explains everything in detail. it is one of those instructional video where you watch it and then go out and practice and then come back and watch it again to critique what you are doing. for the price its very worth it because i paid close to 40 dollars for mine!

Extreme Rollercoasters

Helped me decide where to take my next vacation!
The Extreme Rollercoasters DVD was great fun to watch. What I enjoyed about it, above other movies of this sort, was that it got more in-depth about how they work, how they are created, and what average people as well as "experts" think about the various rollercoasters shown. The visuals were great, and often times I almost felt the excitement instead of just watching it! They focused on quite a few California rollercoasters, so I guess I've got to plan a trip out there soon because I'm missing all of the MOST extreme! I would have liked to have seen more from MY part of the country, though. :-)

I didn't care for the occasional summary of what you'd just viewed, almost like watching it on television and coming back from a commercial break -- it seemed to just take up time. I assume they do that because on the DVD you can either watch the whole thing, or just pick which coasters you'd like to view one by one.

Overall, an excellent choice if you're a fan of rollercoasters!

Freefall Extreme - Ultimate Skydiving Rush
Released in DVD by Goldhil Media (03 April, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Good for everyone, not just skydivers.
This double featured DVD containing two documentaries that complement each other. It has great replay value; being new to the sport I have seen it several times and tortured my friends and family with it. It is a good introduction to the fastest non motorized sport in the world that walks the viewer through some basic principles on the physics behind skydiving and offers a brief historical view on the sport.
Seasoned skydivers will probably take exception to the strong bias in the documentaries that overemphasize protagonist, Adrian Nicholas, while more prominent figures are ignored. This is the main reason while I cannot rate this DVD above 4 stars.
All in all this is a good bang for the buck and a useful tool fot skydivers to explain the sport to outsiders.

Kite Flight

Kite Flight kiteboarding DVD
Basic kiteboarding stuff from Hawaii, Gorge, SFO, Tarifa and Italy. I liked the smooth riding of Flash on Hawaiian waves. Very relaxing video and good picture quality. Little bit boring soundtrack. One part of the film is dedicated to women. Good idea! Some special features and links. Not much radical spinningvand new school riding. Good buy and the essetial part of your Kite DVD Library.

Kranked review
I loved the views of this dvd. It was my first mtn. biking dvd purchase, although I have seen some others, I must say I enjoyed the footage of this one the best. A good investment to start your mtn. biking library.
