Ultimate X
Released in DVD by Buena Vista Home Vid (04 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Bruce Hendricks
Starring: Bob Burnquist and Brian Deegan
You could chug a 12-pack of Mountain Dew and it still might not equal the caffeinated rush of this breakneck 40-minute IMAX film that should lose little of its visceral jolt on the smaller screen. This is the real fast and the furious, as worshipped Generation X superstars such as Carey Hart, Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Dave Mirra, and Travis Pastrana careen down city streets or hurtle off ramps on skateboards, street luges, and motocross bikes. Filmed at the 2001 X-Games in Philadelphia, Ultimate X comes complete with a revved-up rock soundtrack, more slow-mo shots than a John Woo film, and pound-back-the-Dramamine POV action. The gravity-defying stunts are not for the faint of heart, which may explain why these fearless athletes have been so wildly embraced by a new generation of thrill-crazed sports fans. This is best appreciated as a ""docu-mercial"" for the X-Games (in its seventh year in 2002) rather than a thoughtful analysis of the zeitgeist (for that, check out the documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys), but one picture of former BMX Gold Medalist Mirra performing his signature backflip is worth a thousand words. --Donald Liebenson

Thrills and Spills!!!
ESPN's Ultimate X is the most entertaining IMAX film that I have seen. It features Thrills galore with amazing stunts done on moto cross vehicles, skateboards, BMX racing bikes, and the Street Luge. The music in the film also provides a rush and ads a lot to the stunts performed. The only thing I didn't understand was in the opening credits, they showed a guy doing stunts on a wakeboard, and I got really excited thinking that they were going to have a segment on wakeboarding. But, as the movie time wound down, there wasn't one. So I was kinda disappointed, but it wasn't really a flaw in the movie. It was very well made. I also didn't like how it was only 40 minutes long because I ached for more. It was a fun film, and I think that it has something for everyone to enjoy. The 75 year old grandma taking tickets at the door kept talking to me about how neat it was. This movie is definitely worth your time. Check it out!!!

Killer movie!
I'm not an avid sports fan but I like taking a look at movies like Ultimate X. Even with the short 39 minute time limit, the movie still manages to make you enjoy it. It's pretty much lots of footage gathered from past X-Games enhanced to fit the huge IMAX screens that it was shown on. Many people don't like watching IMAX movies on video because you lose the greatness of the movie. I will agree but the movie while not being presented in widescreen (it's presented in 1.33:1 fullscreen, not a shock for these IMAX transfers) the image still looks very nice. The audio doesn't suffer much either, because you not only get a Dolby Digitl 5.1 track, you get a wall pounding DTS 5.1 track also. Over the two, I'd pick the DTS because it was more bass filled and more environment enveloping but if you don't want to wake up your neighbors listen to the DD 5.1 because it has almost the same ambience just a slightly softer track. They're both good don't get me wrong but I'd pick the DTS. I didn't get a chance to take a look at the bonus features on the DVD, but from a look at the titles they looked really interesting....

This DVD Rocks!!!
I just got this DVD, it is the coolest thing. I love the movie, and the extras are awesome. There are so many, I can't hardly watch them all. The menus are really cool as well... I have never scene DVD menus like this before. I definetly recommend this DVD for anyone who likes the X-Games or sports in general. These guys (and girls) are amazing atheletes!!! This DVD Rocks!!!

NBA at 50
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (04 November, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Denzel Washington
Average review score:

Denzel shouldn't have narrated
Denzel Washington should not have narrated this video. I don't know what the heck the producers were thinking, but they should have had a star basketball player or even a legendary coach narrating the history of the NBA. Nonetheless, even if you don't watch basketball, it is a good documentary done in a short time. The highlights are the Celtics winning the 1969 championship and the clash between the two giants of the 80s; the Celtics and the Lakers.

A Great Viewing
while it's hard to include only 50 Players because alot of folks are missing this is a cool Video that spotlights so many Great Players&things they did to make there Teams Better&the Players around them Better.a Must See for a NBA Fan.

Yes... Yes... YES!!
A truely remarkable video with great oldtime footage. A must have in every hoops fan's video library.

Pride FC 8 - From the Ariake Coliseum
Released in DVD by Brentwood Communications (16 October, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Pride Fc, K Sakuraba, and R Gracie
Average review score:

Beginning of the Sakuraba-Gracie family fued.
Pride 8 was held on November 21, 1999 at the Ariake Colosseum.

The first match is between Pride veteran Daijiro Matsui and IVC and UFC veteran Vanderlei Silva. Great fight between two fighter that don't back down.

The second match is between Shooto and Japan Vale Tudo 1998 veteran Frank Triggs and Extreme Challenge and UFC veteran Fabiano Iha. Another good match with a good ending.

The third match is between Pride veteran Carl Malenko and Pancrase, Extreme Challenge, Extreme Fighting, UFC and Pride veteran Allan Goes. Another good match with a good ending.

The fourth match is between AFC 1 32 man tournament winner, RINGS and Pentagon Combat veteran Ricardo Morais and UFC 10 & 11 tournament winner and former UFC Heavyweight champion Mark Coleman. This is a dull match.

The fifth match is between AFC 3 tournament winner, IFC 1 tournament winner and WVC 5 tournament winner Igor Vovchanchyn and IVC and Pride veteran Francisco Bueno. This as one of the best knockouts I have seen.

The sixth match is between UFC 8 finalist and IVC 1 tournament winner Gary Goodridge and MARS and Japan Vale Tudo veteran Tom Erikson. Beginning is good, but I wish the rest of the match was good.

The seventh match is between Pride veteran Alexander Otsuka and World Combat Championship tournament winner Renzo Gracie. Great fight and I want a rematch.

The main event is between UFC Japan tournament winner and Pride veteran Kazushi Sakuraba and Universal Vale Tudo, Japan Vale Tudo and Pride veteran Royler Gracie. Great fight with a exciting ending.

I recommand for anyone who like MMA.

Great card, plenty of action
Pride 8 is the first time that Sakuraba faces a Gracie. The Gracie legacy is on the line. Royler is faced with the burden of defending the undefeated Gracie legacy. Sakuraba is burdened with avenging the loss of his mentor to Rickson Gracie.

Sakuraba always puts on an entertaining fight and this time is no exception. Plenty of standup and ground action, topped off with a controversial ending.

Another excellent fight worthy of mention is Silva vs Matsui, plenty of action. You'll see why he deserves his moniker of "The Axe Murderer". Vovchanchyn versus Bueno and Trigg vs Iha are also great fights. There are two boring fights Coleman vs Morais and Erikson vs Goodridge. It's a pity they don't have a "reset the fighters when there's no action rule".

However all in all a great night of action and well worth the purchase! It's got everything you'd want good standup action, grappling action, knockouts...the works!

Best of the best
Pride FC holds the best mixed martial arts tournaments in the world. I've seen almost all of them, and Pride 8 ranks near the top. The DVD is almost 3 hours long and 2 sided, so midway through, you have to flip the disc. You'll get to see Mark Coleman at 6' 1" take on 6' 8" Brazilian Ricardo Morais, and Daijiro Matsui's huge heart as he battles the Axe Murderer, Vanderlei Silva. Vovchanchyn vs. Bueno is a fight between 2 great strikers. This disc is packed with knockouts, great submission techniques, and climaxes with plenty of drama in the main event between Kazushi Sakuraba and Royler Gracie. Previous to this Pride, Sakuraba had fought the Brazilians who are experts in Ju Jitsu and sumbissions. He has been undefeated. Rickson Gracie had beaten Sakuraba's teacher, Takada twice, both times by submission. It's time to let it all hang out between Sak and the Gracie family.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2002
Released in DVD by Lions Gate Home Ente (05 March, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Yamila Diaz-Rahi
Average review score:

Excellent
If you have seen previous swimsuit editions then you know that they range from dull to mediocre. Mostly because earlier editions have been facilitated to resemble documentaries. Dedicating much of the time to depict for us how incredibly rich a supermodels personality is, interviews, and contemplating such tintilating subjects such as 'what do men want'. A subject aparently alien to the earlier producers since their editions are so outright boring.

This edition: they got it right and produced an over the top compilation. Gobs of scintilation with hotest women on the planet. For once some one realized that perhaps people would be interested in just watching supermodels wear an asortment of industries sexiest swim wear while posing provocatively. As aposed to talking about it. The production by far supersedes the previous releases in both the content and the quality of the DVD.

Latin DVD : the best DVD of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit
In my opinion, the best DVD of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is this one of 2002 : its segments, amalgamated by the leitmotiv of the latin atmosphere with its images , colours and musics, are disposed with order and well presented by Yamila Diaz .
The quality of the photography is excellent and better than in other DVDs of SI.

Well...what can you say?
As you can imagine, most sane women are not very fond of DVDs such as this one. Me, being a male, I have to admit it's extremely attractive stuff. It's an escape to exotic locations and beautiful women. The moment you start watching, you just sort of stop what you're doing and your jaw sort of drops and all. And when it's over, you just want to watch your favorite models again. It's not really an ethical thing to be watching, to be honest. But if you're into that kind of stuff, then it's a feast for the eyes. If I were to say which is the best looking model, it'd be between Heidi Klum, Elsa Benitez, and Yamila Diaz-Rahi. But it's too close to call. It's hard not to say Yamila, though. She really incinerates on this one. (Of course, I don't think it would be fair to not include Josie Maran in there. She's extremely hot as well. I was disappointed, though, that Chandra North wasn't in it. I think she's right up there with the rest. And of course, all of them are pretty, so much so that you do wonder how you can compare this unbelievable beauty with more unbelievable beauty.) In my opinion, seeing the DVD is like, ten times better than looking at the magazine because you get to see them in real life, in full color, right there. I like the DVD far more than the magazine, really. It really makes you feel like you're there. If you love living in a fantasy world with a dozen attractive women hanging out with you on the beach or wherever, I guess you'd probably like this DVD. It shouldn't be legal for women to look this good, to be honest. But at least for now, it is.

Greatest NBA Finals Moments
Released in DVD by United Services (10 October, 2000)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
The intensity and drama of the final series of the National Basketball Association each year is perhaps the most exciting conclusion of any sports season, with its seven-game series of East versus West. Some of these championship games linger in the mind and ingrain themselves into popular mythology, games that were heart-poundingly close or peppered with moments of unsurpassed excellence: buzzer-beaters, overtimes, Herculean individual performances, the victorious underdog, and the comeback. Greatest NBA Finals Moments reminds us that in the short history of professional basketball, there have been countless instances of these unbelievable achievements. Take for example the 1970 New York Knicks team, who managed to defeat a far superior Los Angeles Lakers dynasty (which included Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, and Jerry West) without their season-long MVP Willis Reed. Or Isiah Thomas of the Detroit Pistons who fought valiantly against injury and excruciating pain to score 25 points in the third quarter of an important game 5 versus the Lakers' second-generation dynasty of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and James Worthy. Detroit may have lost that day, but the sheer tenacity and brilliance of Thomas is still spoken of today. Interviews with NBA superstars Sam Jones, Larry Bird, Paul Westphal, Michael Jordan, and many more set the tone for this compelling retrospective. It is only fitting that the concluding shot in this documentary belongs to the man who redefined the concept of last-minute heroics. And if you can't guess who it is, you definitely need to watch this video. --Jeremy Storey

OK feature with 1 exceptional bonus
Back when NBA basketball was at its healthiest (the Magic through Michael era)there was a natural progression of teams rising over a great opponent to the championship. Lakers over Celtics; Celtics over Lakers; Sixers over Celts/Lakers; Pistons over Celts/Lakers; Bulls over Pistons, etc...

This DVD mostly covers some of the hilights of this period. But the focus really is on the great players of this era (Bird, Magic, Isiah, Michael) and not on the Finals "Greatest Moments". It covers:

*Celtics - underdog '76 team beats the run 'n gun Suns
*Lakers - 76ers heartbreaking loss in '80w/ Magic at center
*Pistons - Isiah leads Detroit to the title
*Knicks - heroic '70 team beats Wilt-led Lakers
*Bulls - montage of Michael greatness

There are some hilight clips of everyone from Cousy to Walton that bookend the feature, but how could they leave out the Sixers dominant run of '83 or the Rockets improbable back-to-back titles in Jordan's 1st retirement?!? Fans of 80s NBA will get their fill and of course, Jordan is better represented elsewhere, but overall the feature was lacking. How bout a Top Ten Finals Moments? Or Top Finals of each decade? They could have done a lot more and instead, it just feels thrown together.

The true gem of the DVD is the edited 50 Greatest NBA Players presentation which every NBA fan can appreciate. To my knowledge, it does not appear anywhere else, and if so, are worth the price of the DVD.

awesome
this dvd fantastic. if you dont know about the history of the game this is THE dvd to get. also has great special features on kobe and shaq in 2000 finals and the greatest 50 playas of all time (except they need to get updated wit players like a.i and kobe). anyways great dvd

AWESOME
Detailed stats of each NBA finals is awesome

Lord Stanley's Cup - Hockey's Ultimate Prize
Released in DVD by United Services (10 October, 2000)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Hockey's coveted Stanley Cup, the most remarkable trophy in sports, is the subject of a glowing tribute on this DVD produced in association with the National Hockey League. The fabled cup is all about tradition, and it is unusual because it is the only major sports trophy to contain all the names of the players on the teams who have won it. The addition of new silver panels engraved with each year's victors is the reason the cup's base has grown larger with the passing of decades. This documentary, hosted by comedian Denis Leary in an uncharacteristically respectful mood, features crackling game footage as well as interviews with players who explain their lifelong quest to skate around an arena victoriously holding the legendary trophy high above their heads. An unusual aspect of winning the cup is that each player on the triumphant team gets to keep the cup for 24 hours during the off-season, and an offbeat segment of the documentary shows how players have taken the cup fishing, have taken it on visits to patients at hospitals, and have even snuggled up and slept with it. A feature on fan craziness during the playoffs features a lighthearted montage showing a multitude of homemade Stanley Cups worn by fans as headgear, and special features on the DVD include concise and lively highlight films focusing on the final games of the 1999 and 2000 Stanley Cup finals. Lord Stanley's Cup is a fitting celebration of this storied trophy. --Robert J. McNamara

Interesting info. but only runs about 50 minutes. Not worth the price of admission I'd say.

A Great DVD for the Collection for all Hockey fans
If you are a hockey fan or even if you wonder why hockey fans are hockey fans, this is a pretty good DVD to add to your collection or to answer your questions. While most of the footage included is of recent vintage, there is enough film of "old time hockey" to keep the long time hockey fans interested. Denis Leary, who hosts the DVD, has the perfect personality to narrate this video, bringing the appropriate mixture of reverence and humor in leading the viewer from the history of the cup to its latest home in New Jersey. During the 50 minutes of the DVD, the producers present some of the greatest performers during the playoffs as well as the Dynasties that have held the cup more times than any other teams. In one of the more interesting segments presents what the cup means to NHL players, past and present, both who have been on Cup-winngin teams, and those who have fell short in this quest. Another very interesting segment, the Cup's Escorts from the Hockey Hall of Fame discuss what happens to the Cup after the final game.

All in all, this was a very good DVD, the bonus footage of games 6 of the 1999 and 2000 finals allow the viewer to relive (or to experience for the first time) these two games that really presented what hockey is all about. It also presents additional footage of some of the greatest players to play for this award.

I would, in a second, recommend this DVD to any hockey fan, either a casual fan or die hard. It's well produced and doesn't leave out too much. The only thing that could be improved is if it were longer.

A tremendous history of hockey's ultimate prize
Fans of hockey don't need to be reminded of how truly special Lord Stanley's Cup really is. For many, winning the Cup is a dream, and the road to realizing that dream is long and arduous. This documentary, hosted by Denis Leary, is a tribute to the history of the Stanley Cup, and the passion and dedication it takes to earn the right to hold the world's most famous trophy above your head.

Over the course of an hour, this film covers the roots of the Cup, the great hockey dynasties of the Habs and the Islanders, some of the best moments along the path to the Cup, some of the most heartbreaking defeats, as well as a chronicle of Cup history in the making.

Included on the disc are a slew of special features, the best being tense highlights from the '99 and 2000 Cup finals.

This is a must for any hockey fan.

NBA Live 2001 - The Music Videos
Released in DVD by Usa Films (06 February, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
The exuberantly in-your-face attitude of this video is established at the beginning as Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura appears to bellow, "You better watch it!" Yes sir, governor! Hosted by Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett and legendary music producer Jimmy Jam, NBA Live 2001 is a collection of music videos intercut with footage of NBA stars in action. The acrobatics on the court fit well with the percussive music from such acts as the Beastie Boys, De La Soul, and the Mighty, Mighty Bosstones. Some vintage clips of NBA greats, including Larry Bird, Jerry West, and Bill Russell, are respectfully assembled and accompanied by Mary K. Blige's "Everything." Garnett and Jimmy Jam appear in brief clips between the videos, and the motif of young men casually hanging out in wildly luxurious surroundings will look familiar to anyone with even a glancing acquaintance with rap videos. There's even a side trip to Minnesota's governor's mansion, where Governor Ventura meets the fellows and introduces a clip. This is a lively melding of two modern American art forms, dazzling basketball action and cutting-edge music videos. --Robert J. McNamara

not bad but not that good either
This one gets repititive. Same old thing over and over. The guest host are dry and look like they are reading their lines off a card. They can forget the humor they attempt. The music is probably the best part. That's too bad since I bought it for the basketball mainly. The clips are not that great. Save your money.

Nba Live
This dvd is tight. It's got all the dunks and passes and blocks you could ask for! Buy it!!!!!

More than half amazing
As usual this NBA music video blows you away with some of the most spectacular shows of athleticism ever seen in the NBA. Vince, Kobe, and sprewell + many more show you how its done. This video is a must for any NBA fan, Hosted by K.G. this is the best Music video yet and has many of the NBAs finest young talents. This is more than half amazing. Get it today.

Pride FC - Collision Course
Released in DVD by Bci Eclipse Llc (19 March, 2002)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Average review score:

The fights were so so
Many fighters were caught at a transitional stage in this event. The new rule, which allowed the fighters to kick and knee their opponents when they are on their all fours, really played a big factor to the upsets in this event. This rule is what made Pride as close as it can be to a "no rule" contest. The change gave the strikers a lot of advantage over the grapplers. However, the fights were pretty dull except for the main event.

Good Matchups, startling results!
Yes the matchups were good, but the new Pride rules were really the story of this DVD.

Kicking and kneeing a down opponent was now legal in Pride. This would have given Igor Vovchanchyn a KO victory over Mark Kerr in their first encounter. But enough with the what ifs; this Pride was to be the first under these controversial rules.

The new rules really favored the "strikers" and gave the "grapplers" something to think about. These old terms are dated. Every good fighter is well-rounded in grappling and striking skills. Maybe it safe to say that the good strikers really got a kick off these new rules. No pun intended.

The night kicked off with BJJ sensation Vitor Belfort against Pride newcomer Bobby Southworth. We got a glimpse of Belfort's submission skills in this fight. A mismatch, but entertaining.

Next up was to be a grudge match between Enson Inoue and Guy Metzger. In an earlier UFC tournament, these two were to fight, but Enson suffered and injury that prevented this. Words were tossed, as they always are and a grudge was born. Unfortunately for Guy, Enson had retired. So in came older brother Egan Inoue to challenge Metzger. While Egan was the more muscular of the two, Metzger was actually bigger in size. A good striking fight with a solid KO for a finish.

The ever tough Heath Herring was up next against Denis Sobolev. Herring at a young age had taken out perhaps the most dominating wrestler in Tom Erickson. With his stock rising, nothing was to stop Herring this night, not even a tough-guy in Sobolev.

The next fight featured two MMA's classiest fighters. As classy they are, of course they happen to be very good fighters. On one corner we had Renzo Gracie, the most active of the famous Gracie family. His fights were against formidable opponents. With wins over Taktarov, Kikuta, Otsuka, and Maurice Smith, speaks volumes. In the other corner: Dan Henderson. Henderson was/is all business. He is a quite man who just wins. His victories include wins over Goes, Newton, Yvel, Nogueira, Babalu were also impressive. So these two great (in and outside the ring) fighters fought with a sneaky punch resulting in decisive KO. No phantom-punches, it may require the slo-motion of your DVD to really catch the quick right.

An interesting matchup between heavyweight Mark Coleman and middleweight Alan Goes was next. The last the world saw of Coleman was in Pride winning the Grand Prix tournament. His return was anticipated even if was against a smaller opponent. Goes the superb BJJ technician was the first true submissions expert Coleman was to face. The new rules turned this fight into lights-out for the loser. A funny sequence of events follow the stoppage of this fight. It cannot be missed.

The next fight was the Japanese treat fight. We had Masaaki Satake vs. Tadao Yasuda in a fight catered to entertain the Japanese crowd. A match of little to no significance. I did disagree with the decision, though.

Fight 7 was originally the battle between Ken Shamrock and Igor Vovchanchyn. The buzz behind was huge, but Shamrock was forced to step down due to an injury. His "last second" replacement was fellow Lions Den fighter Tre Telligman. Telligman while respected, was on paper no threat to Igor. Tre had fought (valiantly) and lost to many good fighters. Igor was ready to use this fight as a springboard to a highly-anticipated rematch against Mark "the Hammer" Coleman. The biggest shocker in recent MMA history. Really something special!

In the end...the Main Event! The battle between Japanese sensation Kazushi Sakaraba and Vanderlei Silva. Saku was on top of the world. His victories over almost every fighting Gracie and widely regarded as the best middleweight in the world. He had earned his high remarks by exhibiting truly unorthadox fighting. On the other corner was Muay-Thai sensation Vanderlei Silva. The "Axe Murderer" as he is known, Silva had a reputation as bruising striker. Silva didn't want to be another Brazilian to fall to Sakuraba. Sakuraba was eager to take out a powerful striking specialist. This fight best describes the title of the event: Collision Course! A brutal finish to say the least.

The best Pride show maybe since Pride 10 (Return of the Warriors). A great buy, trust me.

Pride 13 - Collision Course
I have to say that Pride 13 will not disappoint any mixed martial arts fans. There was a lot of action and rarely any dull moments. The matchups were definitely top-notch. The new rules (kicking or kneeing an opponent's head while they are on all fours) definitely affected the outcomes of some of the matches. While it was kind of disheartening to watch some of my favorite fighters lose, there is no doubt that the event itself was exciting. If you are a mixed martial arts fan, I would consider viewing the Pride Fighting Championships. I highly recommend Pride 13 (Collision Course) and Pride 10 (Return of the Warriors), two of the best Pride events.

MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
A revival movement to recapture some of the greatest moves of surfing's past is celebrated in this very professional look at how "long boards" have come back into fashion. In the late 1960s, classic surfboards were put aside in favor of the newer short boards that became the standard surfboards around the world. But now, as one contemporary surfing champion puts it in this documentary, "We're bringing it back to where it all left off... and it should never have left off in the first place." Mastery of the older, longer boards involved "walking the board," showing one's expertise by putting "your toes on the nose." The classic techniques, captured in vintage surfing movies shot in the early 1960s, are being reproduced by today's generation of surfers, and this film contains some beautiful footage showing how the older style boards are making a comeback. One segment puts a spotlight on women surfers who are mastering the long boards, and a trip to a surfing festival in Australia provides an opportunity for people to reminisce about the days in the 1950s when Californians first brought the classic surfboards down under and the revolutionized surfing on Australian beaches. Interviews with surfing champions of the past and present provide a comprehensive look at the fabled long boards, and extras on the DVD include a selection of music videos utilizing some of the striking footage used in the film. --Robert J. Ok. First things first, I was sold by the hype that this was the greatest thing on DVD since...well, since whatever. But take a look at the cheesed-out cover. You can't always judge a book by it's cover, but this one comes pretty close.

What you get is this. You get a lot of hand-held videocamera type of filming. It's decent, but it's got that totally home-movie look. The comparisons to Endless Summer...totally unfounded. No way, no how.

If you're looking for fantastic surf films on DVD, there are so many to choose from now. Maybe all the praise for this came about as a result of this being one of the first dvd surf films around. The makers of this movie where in the right time at the right place...and knew successful marketing. Beyond that, it's just ordinary. I had a copy and gave it away if that tells you anything. As a surfer of more than 20 years, that's something I would have never seen myself doing.

In short, very amateur footage, very mediocre production.

Hope I haven't come off as too critical of this. I support most anything that has to do with our beloved sport and its members, but this one just seems too hastily put together by the kids of the Audio-Video club of your local high school.

Enjoy kiddies

This is one of the best small wave longboarding videos i've ever seen ... It's got great footage, and also many features (interviews, musci videos) that you can watch separetly ...... I f you like longboarding and don't matter watch mostly small waves surfing, this is definetely worth buying ! ps : Joel Tudor is the best longboard surfer of the 90's !

Super Slide is Great!
Super Slide rules in so many ways, excellent video quality, fantastic longboarding sessions and a fine balance of dialog and music.

As far as I know, this is the first high quality DVD that is a surf film. Great opening shot. Can't wait for the next one.
