This DVD Rocks!!!

A Great Viewing
Yes... Yes... YES!!

Beginning of the Sakuraba-Gracie family fued. The first match is between Pride veteran Daijiro Matsui and IVC and UFC veteran Vanderlei Silva. Great fight between two fighter that don't back down.
The second match is between Shooto and Japan Vale Tudo 1998 veteran Frank Triggs and Extreme Challenge and UFC veteran Fabiano Iha. Another good match with a good ending.
The third match is between Pride veteran Carl Malenko and Pancrase, Extreme Challenge, Extreme Fighting, UFC and Pride veteran Allan Goes. Another good match with a good ending.
The fourth match is between AFC 1 32 man tournament winner, RINGS and Pentagon Combat veteran Ricardo Morais and UFC 10 & 11 tournament winner and former UFC Heavyweight champion Mark Coleman. This is a dull match.
The fifth match is between AFC 3 tournament winner, IFC 1 tournament winner and WVC 5 tournament winner Igor Vovchanchyn and IVC and Pride veteran Francisco Bueno. This as one of the best knockouts I have seen.
The sixth match is between UFC 8 finalist and IVC 1 tournament winner Gary Goodridge and MARS and Japan Vale Tudo veteran Tom Erikson. Beginning is good, but I wish the rest of the match was good.
The seventh match is between Pride veteran Alexander Otsuka and World Combat Championship tournament winner Renzo Gracie. Great fight and I want a rematch.
The main event is between UFC Japan tournament winner and Pride veteran Kazushi Sakuraba and Universal Vale Tudo, Japan Vale Tudo and Pride veteran Royler Gracie. Great fight with a exciting ending.
I recommand for anyone who like MMA.
Great card, plenty of actionSakuraba always puts on an entertaining fight and this time is no exception. Plenty of standup and ground action, topped off with a controversial ending.
Another excellent fight worthy of mention is Silva vs Matsui, plenty of action. You'll see why he deserves his moniker of "The Axe Murderer". Vovchanchyn versus Bueno and Trigg vs Iha are also great fights. There are two boring fights Coleman vs Morais and Erikson vs Goodridge. It's a pity they don't have a "reset the fighters when there's no action rule".
However all in all a great night of action and well worth the purchase! It's got everything you'd want good standup action, grappling action, knockouts...the works!
Best of the best

ExcellentThis edition: they got it right and produced an over the top compilation. Gobs of scintilation with hotest women on the planet. For once some one realized that perhaps people would be interested in just watching supermodels wear an asortment of industries sexiest swim wear while posing provocatively. As aposed to talking about it. The production by far supersedes the previous releases in both the content and the quality of the DVD.
Latin DVD : the best DVD of Sports Illustrated SwimsuitThe quality of the photography is excellent and better than in other DVDs of SI.
Well...what can you say?

OK feature with 1 exceptional bonusThis DVD mostly covers some of the hilights of this period. But the focus really is on the great players of this era (Bird, Magic, Isiah, Michael) and not on the Finals "Greatest Moments". It covers:
*Celtics - underdog '76 team beats the run 'n gun Suns
*Lakers - 76ers heartbreaking loss in '80w/ Magic at center
*Pistons - Isiah leads Detroit to the title
*Knicks - heroic '70 team beats Wilt-led Lakers
*Bulls - montage of Michael greatness
There are some hilight clips of everyone from Cousy to Walton that bookend the feature, but how could they leave out the Sixers dominant run of '83 or the Rockets improbable back-to-back titles in Jordan's 1st retirement?!? Fans of 80s NBA will get their fill and of course, Jordan is better represented elsewhere, but overall the feature was lacking. How bout a Top Ten Finals Moments? Or Top Finals of each decade? They could have done a lot more and instead, it just feels thrown together.
The true gem of the DVD is the edited 50 Greatest NBA Players presentation which every NBA fan can appreciate. To my knowledge, it does not appear anywhere else, and if so, are worth the price of the DVD.
awesome
AWESOME

Kind of short
A Great DVD for the Collection for all Hockey fansAll in all, this was a very good DVD, the bonus footage of games 6 of the 1999 and 2000 finals allow the viewer to relive (or to experience for the first time) these two games that really presented what hockey is all about. It also presents additional footage of some of the greatest players to play for this award.
I would, in a second, recommend this DVD to any hockey fan, either a casual fan or die hard. It's well produced and doesn't leave out too much. The only thing that could be improved is if it were longer.
A tremendous history of hockey's ultimate prizeOver the course of an hour, this film covers the roots of the Cup, the great hockey dynasties of the Habs and the Islanders, some of the best moments along the path to the Cup, some of the most heartbreaking defeats, as well as a chronicle of Cup history in the making.
Included on the disc are a slew of special features, the best being tense highlights from the '99 and 2000 Cup finals.
This is a must for any hockey fan.

not bad but not that good either

The fights were so so
Good Matchups, startling results!Kicking and kneeing a down opponent was now legal in Pride. This would have given Igor Vovchanchyn a KO victory over Mark Kerr in their first encounter. But enough with the what ifs; this Pride was to be the first under these controversial rules.
The new rules really favored the "strikers" and gave the "grapplers" something to think about. These old terms are dated. Every good fighter is well-rounded in grappling and striking skills. Maybe it safe to say that the good strikers really got a kick off these new rules. No pun intended.
The night kicked off with BJJ sensation Vitor Belfort against Pride newcomer Bobby Southworth. We got a glimpse of Belfort's submission skills in this fight. A mismatch, but entertaining.
Next up was to be a grudge match between Enson Inoue and Guy Metzger. In an earlier UFC tournament, these two were to fight, but Enson suffered and injury that prevented this. Words were tossed, as they always are and a grudge was born. Unfortunately for Guy, Enson had retired. So in came older brother Egan Inoue to challenge Metzger. While Egan was the more muscular of the two, Metzger was actually bigger in size. A good striking fight with a solid KO for a finish.
The ever tough Heath Herring was up next against Denis Sobolev. Herring at a young age had taken out perhaps the most dominating wrestler in Tom Erickson. With his stock rising, nothing was to stop Herring this night, not even a tough-guy in Sobolev.
The next fight featured two MMA's classiest fighters. As classy they are, of course they happen to be very good fighters. On one corner we had Renzo Gracie, the most active of the famous Gracie family. His fights were against formidable opponents. With wins over Taktarov, Kikuta, Otsuka, and Maurice Smith, speaks volumes. In the other corner: Dan Henderson. Henderson was/is all business. He is a quite man who just wins. His victories include wins over Goes, Newton, Yvel, Nogueira, Babalu were also impressive. So these two great (in and outside the ring) fighters fought with a sneaky punch resulting in decisive KO. No phantom-punches, it may require the slo-motion of your DVD to really catch the quick right.
An interesting matchup between heavyweight Mark Coleman and middleweight Alan Goes was next. The last the world saw of Coleman was in Pride winning the Grand Prix tournament. His return was anticipated even if was against a smaller opponent. Goes the superb BJJ technician was the first true submissions expert Coleman was to face. The new rules turned this fight into lights-out for the loser. A funny sequence of events follow the stoppage of this fight. It cannot be missed.
The next fight was the Japanese treat fight. We had Masaaki Satake vs. Tadao Yasuda in a fight catered to entertain the Japanese crowd. A match of little to no significance. I did disagree with the decision, though.
Fight 7 was originally the battle between Ken Shamrock and Igor Vovchanchyn. The buzz behind was huge, but Shamrock was forced to step down due to an injury. His "last second" replacement was fellow Lions Den fighter Tre Telligman. Telligman while respected, was on paper no threat to Igor. Tre had fought (valiantly) and lost to many good fighters. Igor was ready to use this fight as a springboard to a highly-anticipated rematch against Mark "the Hammer" Coleman. The biggest shocker in recent MMA history. Really something special!
In the end...the Main Event! The battle between Japanese sensation Kazushi Sakaraba and Vanderlei Silva. Saku was on top of the world. His victories over almost every fighting Gracie and widely regarded as the best middleweight in the world. He had earned his high remarks by exhibiting truly unorthadox fighting. On the other corner was Muay-Thai sensation Vanderlei Silva. The "Axe Murderer" as he is known, Silva had a reputation as bruising striker. Silva didn't want to be another Brazilian to fall to Sakuraba. Sakuraba was eager to take out a powerful striking specialist. This fight best describes the title of the event: Collision Course! A brutal finish to say the least.
The best Pride show maybe since Pride 10 (Return of the Warriors). A great buy, trust me.
Pride 13 - Collision Course

It's ok...don't believe ALL the hype. What you get is this. You get a lot of hand-held videocamera type of filming. It's decent, but it's got that totally home-movie look. The comparisons to Endless Summer...totally unfounded. No way, no how.
If you're looking for fantastic surf films on DVD, there are so many to choose from now. Maybe all the praise for this came about as a result of this being one of the first dvd surf films around. The makers of this movie where in the right time at the right place...and knew successful marketing. Beyond that, it's just ordinary. I had a copy and gave it away if that tells you anything. As a surfer of more than 20 years, that's something I would have never seen myself doing.
In short, very amateur footage, very mediocre production.
Hope I haven't come off as too critical of this. I support most anything that has to do with our beloved sport and its members, but this one just seems too hastily put together by the kids of the Audio-Video club of your local high school.
Enjoy kiddies
Great Longboarding
Super Slide is Great! As far as I know, this is the first high quality DVD that is a surf film. Great opening shot. Can't wait for the next one.
