Shadow Raiders - Alliance Attack (Vol. 4)
Released in DVD by A.D. Vision (22 May, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

A classic like this is well worth every dime!
Currently this DVD is not out for sell yet, but do have it on pre-order, and have seen these episodes many times before when War Planets was originally aired.

These last episodes of the series has to do with the Alliance made up of planets Ice, Rock, Fire, and Bone, launching a final attempt to rid themselves of the Beast threat, they launch an attack directed at the Beast Planet, which turns out to have been hidden in their home-system's own sun. In the midst of the battle the Alliance find them heavily out-gunned and on the verge of defeat. The only way the tides of war are suddenly changed in the Alliances favor is when Graveheart's close friend Jade arrives with control over the two Battle Moons. (The Rock King's contribution to the war effort)

The entire War Planet's series has really impressed me, it has a tight and well-done storyline that is continually followed through throughout the series, each character's personality was well developed, and even though the heart of the story is about four planets merging to defeat a common foe in an all-out war, this series in each episode has a hidden message about morrals and a good lesson for any kid who watches this series.

I would highly recommend this to both kids and adults alike.

Besides, CLASSICS never dies!

Very nice Hongkong Casino Movie
10 years ago, I saw this movie for the first time. It was very impressive to me.. Unforgetable movie.. I pre-ordered this movie about 2 month before release, and waited eagerly. It's very nice 'Guy-movie'. The chinese title means "Royal straight flush" which is the highest cards in poker game. Andy Lau was the best Hongkong movie star like Chow Yun Fat.

Very nice Hongkong Casino Movie
Do you like Cho Yun Fat? If so, you also will like Andy Lau. I like this DVD very much. Hongkong style casino movies have faithfulness, betrayal, and revenge plot. I think this one is better than original one. If you enjoy this, you also like "God of Gambler(Actor: Chow Yun Fat)"

Raiders of the Sun
Released in DVD by New Concorde Home En (08 April, 2003)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Cirio H. Santiago

Great Cormania!
As presented by Roger Corman, the famous producer whose SciFi
epics have launched stellar Hollywood careers, "Raiders of The
Sun" on DVD allows current audiences the nostalgia of a return to the movies of the 1980s and '90s that were influenced by the success of "Mad Max" and "Road Warrior." Martial arts movie great Richard Norton proves to be a compelling hero in one of his early lead roles - demonstrating the charisma upon which he built his starring career in action films. Solid character actor William Steis shows up as a henchman. The plot has all the classic apocalyptic ingredients. We are treated to
generous doses of anarchy, insurrection, and ultimate salvation
from the dark forces who rule with an arsenal of explosives and
vehicular hardware. Typical of Corman's releases, the budget is
not so generous, but a reliance on emerging talent and film
makers - over high costs - is often part of the Corman formula
and always a part of the fun in seeing his movies again. Enjoy!

Get it, get it, get it!!!!!
This entire series was done with such an attention to detail, not only in the animation but with the story writing as well. Peddled as a kiddie show it wasn't really, then of course almost all of the products that Mainframe Entertainment put out are geared more towards the discerning adult lover of animation than little Jimmy age 7. With the vhs video you get to relive the wonderful exploits and adventures of some of the most epic science fiction around. Mainframe Entertainment really outdid themselves when they put together this wonderful series. I usually don't go into details when I review things because I want people to make up their own minds, but in this case, the interactions of the characters are so great that I can't help but signal some out. Femur and Jade have a rivalry that is beyond funny, he will always be the ultimate slippery toad and she is forever going to be the rock hard, unbending soldier. Perfect in their roles, they have some of the best lines in the whole show. Buy this video and the others of the series you won't regret a moment of it.

Shadow Raiders - Final Conflict (Vol. 6)
Released in DVD by A.D. Vision (26 June, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Directors: Owen Hurley, Raul Inglis, Dwayne Beaver, and Colin Davies
Average review score:

Fabulous
Though I will readily admit that this isn't Mainframe's best series (That honour goes to Reboot) Shadow Raiders did shape up to become very strong. In fact, I will go so far as to say that these last five episodes were the best of the series.

The last five eps involve Graveheart, Cryos, Jade and Femur getting stuck on a long lost world from their system known as the Prison Planet. They're absence leaves a power vacuum in the alliance, and who better to fill that vacuum than King Mantel? Much chaos ensues and it takes all of the final five episodes to resolve the various conflicts.

SR, like other good series, shows that people are mortal. I won't say who ends up dead, but it's fairly shocking none-the-less.

And there are a couple of new characters in the mix, including the extremely cool Sternum.

All in all, an excellent conclusion to the series. We can only hope that more episodes get made, though that seems doubtful.

Shadow Raiders - Uncommon Hero (Vol 1)
Released in DVD by A.D. Vision (06 March, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Directors: Owen Hurley, Raul Inglis, Dwayne Beaver, and Colin Davies
When the evil Beast Planet destroys the Planet Tek, only Princess Tekla escapes. She crashes on the distant Planet Ice and warns King Cryos and some raiders from Planet Rock of their imminent danger. Graveheart, a Stallone-type hero made of rock, swears to fight the menace. But defeating the Beast Planet's forces will require the four worlds of the solar system to abandon centuries of internecine warfare and unite. King Cryos and his feisty daughter travel with Graveheart to Planet Rock. King Mantle rejects the idea of an alliance and exiles Graveheart, but Graveheart's friend Jade joins the group. On Planet Fire, they recruit young Prince Pyrus, whose fiery hair unfortunately makes his head look like an unsuccessful flambé dessert. The dedicated cadre fights their first major battle on Planet Bone. King Femur, a leering Gremlins look-alike, tries to play both ends against the middle and finds himself attacked by Beast. This derivative motion-capture/computer-graphics series borrows heavily from the Star Wars films: Planet Ice looks like Hoth, Planet Rock resembles Tatooine, and the space battles with the Beast Drones are lifted from the attack on the Death Star. Rated "suitable for all ages," but violence and grotesque imagery are inappropriate for children under 8. Contains the first four episodes: 1. "Behold the Beast," 2. "On the Rocks," 3. "Born in Fire," 4. "Bad to the Bone." --Charles Solomon

Excellent!
This is a great show not to be passed by. The story line is superb the charcters are all great.

If you are a ReBoot fan who has never seen War Planets/Shadow Raiders do not hesitate to check it out you will not be dissapointed. I have only just recenty seen this show after buying it on DVD and fell in love with it and was disapointed when I found out there were only 2 seasons made, but those 2 seasons are both on DVD and play out extreamly well.

This is definatly not just a kids show.
If you are a scifi fan I highly reccommend Shadow Raiders!

Great DVD set of a Great series
This disc is great the quality of the picture an sound is supurb, and the extras are interesting and well organised throughout the set. The series is great and everyone who likes cgi stuff and Transformers should see it. It works quite well as a prelude to Transformers the Movie, kind of like a story of what unicron did before he got into what he did in that movie. Although of course the beast in this is not unicron but he could be, I think the series ran it's course and did all it could do, if it hd carried on longer it would just have gotten thinner and dragged out. Also it's great that every episode is here just as they were originally, only two tiny things to fault with this set. One, there is one episode that didn't really need to be there, but that's a problem with the original writing. Also all the episodes have 1 advert chapter break instead of two, but this is such a minor point it's not even worth mentioning.

Great Sic--Fiction Show!!! (A viewer from Australia )
Shadow Raiders is a show that is full of good twists. You can HATE Lord Mantel for exiling Graveheart from his home world, Planet Rock. I like he part when Graveheart's best friend Jade joins him on his mission(she would have to be my favourite). At some times I hate Emperor Femur because of all the truouble he courses for everyone(like the time he used Tekla to steel Planet Rock's Battle Moons). At times we see different views of each of the creatures in the show. But its a great show, worth watching.

Silver & Black Forever: The Story of the 2002 Oakland Raiders
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (26 August, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Love the ending...
Being a pretty ardent anti-Raider, you might think I wouldn't find this particular presentation to be worth watching. Well, you'd be wrong, 'cuz I ALWAYS love watching videos that have happy endings! Oh sure, there were many low points during the Raiders' 2002 campaign, such as compiling a winning record and claiming the AFC West title for the third consecutive year. Then there was that dreadful day when it was announced that starting QB Rich Gannon was selected as the year's most valuable player. Well, to be completely honest, no one else in the league deserved it more than him (God, how it pains me to admit that)...

But there were also a few high points, such as my beloved Niners beatin' them in overtime at the Coliseum in week 9. I love putting the game's winning kick on a loop, so I can watch it over and over and over again, my laughter growing louder with each viewing! Heck, I even enjoyed watching the Rams take 'em apart in week 6, and I'm supposed to hate St. Louis more than I do the Raiders!

But those two games paled in comparison to the coup de grace: former Raider coach "Chucky" Gruden and the Tampa Bay Bucs' league -leading defense demolishing their top-ranked offense in Super Bowl XXXVII. Gannon showed why he was chosen MVP by throwing five TD passes in the game. Only problem was, three of the TD passes went to the wrong team! On the upside for Oakland, Jerry Rice padded his Super Bowl scoring record with a late TD reception, and they managed to return a blocked punt for another score.

In conclusion: I was very gratified to see the ChokeLand Faders get put down at the end of the season like the third-rate wannabe b@d@$$e$ that they are! If only they included 'highlight' footage of the vandalism that went down in Oakland after their pathetic performance in the big dance, this platter would be a bona fide laugh riot!

'Late

Funny Huh?
I think it is very funny that you have all these other idiots saying chokland faders and how funny it was to see the Raiders lose, it is funny that they took the time out of there day to watch the Oakland Raiders complete 2002 season. A little to much extra time for the computer geeks! I guarantee if you had to get on the football field with any team you might go back to your porn chat room with 80yr old men who you think are 18yr old girls! Ya it sucks that they lost the Super Bowl to a coach who knew every move the quarterback would make but it sure did take talent to make it there! Stay in your chat rooms weenies!

Right Where They Belong!
Raiders ended their 2002 Season right where everyone knew they'd go...down the Superbowl toilet. To join all the other teams that went to the Superbowl, only to get their behinds handed to them! This DVD is a laugh a minute...seeing how their former coach, Chucky, made them as well as Mr. Davis look like fools...in their own home state...in front of most of their fans. And the costumes these dummies wear in the stands! This team's a joke, the fans are as well, and look how they're doing this year! I guess they're going to have to wait another 20 years to get back to the Superbowl...it'll probably be a worse loss!

The Adventures of Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark/The Temple of Doom/The Last Crusade) - Full Screen
Released in DVD by Paramount Home Video (21 October, 2003)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Starring: Harrison Ford
As with Star Wars, the George Lucas-produced Indiana Jones trilogy was not just a plaything for kids but an act of nostalgic affection toward a lost phenomenon: the cliffhanging movie serials of the past. Episodic in structure and with fate hanging in the balance about every 10 minutes, the Jones features tapped into Lucas's extremely profitable Star Wars formula of modernizing the look and feel of an old, but popular, story model. Steven Spielberg directed all three films, which are set in the late 1930s and early '40s: the comic book-like Raiders of the Lost Ark, the spooky, Gunga Din-inspired Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the cautious but entertaining Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Fans and critics disagree over the order of preference, some even finding the middle movie nearly repugnant in its violence. (Pro-Temple of Doom people, on the other hand, believe that film to be the most disarmingly creative and emotionally effective of the trio.) One thing's for sure: Harrison Ford's swaggering, two-fisted, self-effacing performance worked like a charm, and the art of cracking bullwhips was probably never quite the iconic activity it soon became after Raiders. Supporting players and costars were very much a part of the series, too--Karen Allen, Sean Connery (as Indie's dad), Kate Capshaw, Ke Huy Quan, Amrish Puri, Denholm Elliot, River Phoenix, and John Rhys-Davies among them. Years have passed since the last film (another is supposedly in the works), but emerging film buffs can have the same fun their predecessors did picking out numerous references to Hollywood classics and B-movies of the past. --Tom Keogh

I haven't seen these DVDs, but...
...when will the movies be released on DVD separately? I am only interested in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and do not want to see the other two films again, let alone buy them. (I clicked on three stars, even though I haven't seen the new DVDs, only because it's not possible to make a submission without choosing a rating.)

Is stuttering not allowed in 5.0 surround?
I like getting rid of my old VHS movies when the DVDs come out. They take up less space, they're more stable and usually improved... But sometimes, they mess something up so bad that I can't get rid of my old VHS copies! This outrage usually occurs when they remix their precious 5.0 surround. For example...
INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM. At the lava pit Willie used to stutter,"Wha-what's the matter with you?" The DVD sound guys felt it necessary to mess with the natural flow of the dialogue that has existed since 1984 and remove the stutter. Now it's just "What's the matter with you?"
Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Wonderful DVD! But again, some nameless tamperer decided that Beast wasn't allowed to nervously ask "You wanna - you wanna stay in the tower?" Now he only confidently asks "You wanna stay in the tower?" (Even in the supposed "original theatrical version" option!)
When these engineers prepare the sound for these DVDs, do they actually think they're hearing a skip or something that needs to be edited out? Or have they taken it upon themselves to declare that stuttering simply doesn't belong in their precious DVD 5.0 surround sound?
Enhance the picture and the sound, please. Slap everything onto a disc and sell it to us again and again. But please!!! Stop fixing things that aren't broken!!! (You too, George Lucas) And someday, maybe I can actually replace a VHS movie with a DVD, and not have to keep both! Thanks for listening.

WOW!
I bought the Widescreen Indiana Jones boxed set as the very first DVDs for my new dvd player - a nothing fancy Sony DVP -NS325.
Luckily, I didn't have any of the problems with any of the discs as being reported by some consumers. This may be a "batch" problem. I must say if it doesn't get edited that I purchased my Raiders set from a local retailer not Amazon.

The set contains some of the most entertaining movies ever made, brought up to 21st century standards for visual and audio quality. Then some of the most in depth, behind the scenes info was put on a separate FOURTH disc.
I've kept my review brief after the hundreds of other reviewers insightful comments. What more is there to say? This is a MUST HAVE set of some of the best films in history. Add the modern processes of transferring images and sound to a disc playable on home equipment that rivals any movie house showing - SIMPLY ASTOUNDING!
