Great Travel Planner
Great product if you are planning a trip to Italy and want to get a feel for the italian way of life.. I was slightly disapointed that it didnt include Rome, but you can buy this on a seperate VHS

Great cinematography, wonderful "hosts"
This DVD has some wonderful, little seen footage of small towns, and cultural events that an average tourist doesn't see. The hosts on both the Northern and Southern are very good; though I favor the host of the southern article the most. It is very well done, and doesn't disappoint.

Lighthouses of the Oregon Coast

Spectacular Photography, Great Narration & Music! Top Notch!
This splendid video will take you to the Oregon's wonderful coast and Lighthouses. It is spectacularly shot, dramatically written, and well produced. You will not be disappointed with the well read narration reminiscent of Charles Kuralt himself. The rich history is told dramatically told through historical photos, crisp images with dramatic lighting and even old ghost stories. The beautiful and relaxing soundtrack is written by the multi-talented filmmaker himself.

This is not your typical dry news documentary with average daylight photography and academic narration ... but rather a wonderful dramatic story of Oregon's lighthouses, their history, their beauty, and splendor. A must have for any lighthouse lover to add to their lighthouse collection!

Top quality video
My husband and I went to Oregon last summer and I remember seeing this video in the sea lion caves gift shop. I regretted not getting it and am glad I found it at amazon.com. For anyone who likes lighthouses or the Oregon Coast, this DVD is a real treat. The quality and filming are exceptional. There are nine lighthouses featured. I enjoyed the narration because it included a lot of really interesting background information on each lighthouse such as the history of the lighthouses, how they were built, and the lenses. You can also run it on your computer if you have a DVD drive.

Video Visits Travel Collection: Discovering England
Released in DVD by Questar Inc. (21 June, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Discovering England

Makes me want to hop a plane and see the sights firsthand !
I have many videos on England but this one is a real gem, I think the first day I watched the whole DVD twice, well done.

Excellent overview
This is an excellent value for those looking for a visual overview of England. The scope is amazingly broad, covering almost every region From Cornwall to Hadrian's Wall. Unlike many travel videos, there is very little "filler" material here (no chintzy theatricals or human interest fluff), leaving much more room for real content. The narration is clear and informative, although somewhat sparse - the emphasis is obviously on the visual presentation, which I thought was very well done.

The Main Feature (82 minutes) covers not only standard tourist highlights such as London, Bath, York, the Cotswolds etc. but also includes lesser known spots such as Boston, Ely, and Lincoln. The only obvious omission is the Industrial Midlands (Liverpool, Coventry, Ironbridge, etc - perhaps not a great loss), which as I recall was not mentioned.

The breadth of the Main Feature is well complimented by the three "DVD Extra" segments (approx 35 minutes), which provide more detailed looks at several castles and stately homes, including Castle Howard, Warwick, Chatsworth and several others.

If you're hoping to see a specific locale, you may be disappointed, but if you just want to enjoy well-presented scenery and architecture, "Discovering England" is quite rewarding.

America's Most Scenic Drives

Ultimate $ Value In Scenery
This DVD is quite spectacular. The company who released this is Questar. I was not impresed by their picture quality on a diffrent DVD of "Yosemite" that was an old film. I was leary about purchasing anything again from Questar Inc. untill I decided to buy this DVD."America's Most Scenic Drives" is a great value and I highly suggest those who like scenery with great picture quality to add this on to your collection. This film was produced from a Reader's Digest Collection. THE BEST FEATURE ABOUT THIS DVD IS that it is over 5 HOURS LONG on 4 discs and also includes the ABSOLUTE BEST TRIBUTE ON AMERICA I HAVE EVER SEEN. It is titled "America The Beautiful". Walt Disney did his own 360* format (one of a kind) for Disneyland back in the early 70's. This IS NOT the Disney version at first I was hoping for but Reader's Diget's version is even better than Disney's version. The picture quality is outstanding and top notch next to IMAX production high-definition. This seperate DVD (in the same set) is worth the price alone. "American The Beautiful" features amazing scenery of all the states, includes all our major cities, culture representations along with the absolute best of all America's theme songs representing each state. Such classics are in Dolby 5.1. Includes "New York, New York", "Oaklahoma", "Shenandoah", "This Land Is Our Land", "Take Me Out To The Ball Game", "Old Kentucky Home", "OOl' Man River", "Spirit Of New Orleans", "Chicago", "California Here I Come", John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High", and "America The Beautiful".You cannot get a better value on any scenery DVD out there. Over 5 hours long and the bonus hour long DVD of "America The Beautiful" is a must see!!I have a widescreen 65" projection tv and sometimes have troubles with picture quality when I buy some DVDs because I can see so much. For those with widescreen tv's or big projection tv's, DO NOT be discouraged that this DVD is in full screen format. The picture quality is outstanding! If I was an IMAX producer, I would go to the peoepl who made this version of "America The Beautiful" and see about getting it up on an IMAX screen in IMAX format. Simply amazing!Buy this DVD if you want top notch scenery! This company could've released "AMerica The Beautiful" seperate for the same price. The value you get on this DVD is the best I've seen yet!

Bikini Beauties in Jamaica
Released in DVD by Photo John Inc (23 September, 2003)

Finally, a good bikini video
I really liked what I saw. I enjoy looking at sexy and cute women in bikinis. Bikinis are very sexy, and there is no other modeling like bikini modeling. What was done here is rare. There are not very many (hardly any) good bikini videos available ANYWHERE. Not only is this a nice bikini video, but the models are VERY attractive. On top of all that, they are women of color, which is even more rare!

The vibe of the video is very good. The models seemed genuinely happy and comfortable, and it wasn't fake and stupid. It was entertaining to watch. The women were being genuine.

There are other videos that are so cheap, tacky and low class that even though the girls are absolutely beautiful, and even though there is much footage of them naked or in very little, the vids are boring. It takes more than nakedness, or skimpy clothing to make a video entertaining. I have some of those vids and can count on one hand how many times I've watched both of them. I watched "Bikini Beauties" twice last night alone, and it is enjoyable because you don't have to sit there through the pathetic acting and phoniness that goes on in so many poorly done girl videos.

I wish there was MORE FOOTAGE!!

Awesome!
The dvd was great the first time, I'm sure I'll be watching it again many times! Quality of picture is outstanding, as good as anything I've seen on the travel channel and the soundtrack was very well integrated with the narration & guides. My favoirte part is the helicopter/airplane views of portland. Flying over fort williams was breathtaking. I suggest ordering this for any portland transplants or would be tourists(people from away:)). They even have a trailer on their website.

Globe Trekker: Destination Greece
Taken from the "Pilot Guides" Television series, Destination Greece includes two episodes, Mainland Greece (hosted by Christina Chang) and the Greek Islands (hosted by Megan McCormick).
While you will find some of the prominent tourist destinations in each episode, Globe Trekker focuses more on the lesser traveled routes in the countries and you share the personal experiences of each traveller through they're journeys.
These episodes are uniquely intimate in their presentation and you really get a feel for the country and its culture. It is a real treat to watch these episodes!
One event leading to the Firewalking Festival in the Mainland Greece episode is particularly compeling and we really see the personal depth of the presenter.

It is a wonderful DVD, definately worth the price and there are a number of discs in the series spanning much of the globe!

Special Note: This particular DVD in the series seems to be rather difficult to find. If you are interested, you may have to wait awhile for it to ship.
