Not Perfect, But Definitely Worth The Price!
South Park - Insults to Injuries is definitely the video to own for die-hard fans, and new fans alike. It has some of the best episodes, that are chock full of the political commentary, and is sure to keep you doubled over in laughter.

This video contains the infamous "'It' Hits The Fan", where "IT" is said 163 times. But don't think this is just about being a potty mouth. It's about the overcommercialization of the worst parts of our pop culture and how the need for ratings reaps horrible consequences.

Insults to Injuries is not a video you want to rent. You'll want to see "IT" over and over. And each time, you'll laugh just a little harder while you learn. Highly recommended.

So sick and depraved, I gotta watch it again!
If you're looking to stuff yourself with a big honkin' helping of South Park™'s most perverse, disturbing, and disgustingly hilarious eppies, this particular collection really hits the spot! The four eppies contained within this platter feature plenty of UberGrody gross-out moments and some of the hardest-hitting satire I've ever seen in all my years as a couch potato!

While most notable for its elaborate and disturbing-yet-hilarious confrontation between South Park's two handicapped young'uns, I like 'Cripple Fight'© because it features the return of Big Gay Al™, my fave South Park™ guest star. Which is fitting, since this particular eppie is Trey & Matt's take on the Supreme Court's ruling on the Boy Scouts Of America® not allowing gays to be members. Al's over-the-top & flamboyant (& other homosexual stereotypes personified) antics in this eppie grabbed even more laughs from me than it did when he first appeared in 'Boat Ride'©! I also enjoyed the beloved-- um, "special person" Timmy™'s cruelly underhanded schemes to eliminate the handi-capable competition. Methinks he's been hangin' 'round Cartman™ a bit too much...

Then there's 'It Hits The Fan'©, where our heroic quartet and Chef™ get caught up in modern-day sword-&-sorcery hijinks as they fight to reverse the demystification of the dreaded s-word! And in case you can't keep track, the lower left corner of the screen displays a counter that advances every time the naughty word (or variations of it) is uttered! Although this particular show was made in reaction to Mark Harmon's infamous line in an eppie of Chicago Hope™, 'It Hits The Fan'© has also become a harbinger of things to come on non-premium prime-time cable. If you doubt this, just watch The Shield™ some time and you'll see what I mean!

'Proper Condom Use'© features out fave fourth-graders being taught the facts of life by faculty members who are less than knowledgeable on the subject. A particularly disquieting lowlight is Mr. Garrison's lesson on prophylactic application with his kindergarten class. This particular offering is also notable for taking gross-out humor to new heights (depths?) with the opening Red Rocket™ scene! And no, I'll not describe it, 'cuz this wouldn't get posted if I did! 'Condom' also features the really-sick-yet-disgustingly-hilarious tete-a-tete between school counselor "m'Kay" Mackey™ and the late Mz. Choksondik™! And just when you thought romance was dead...

Finally, there's 'Scott Tenorman™ Must Die!'©, which in my book ranks as South Park™'s most twisted and disturbing spectacle ever! And since the overall plot's already been been gone over in several preceding reviews by my fellow Amazon™ians, I'll leave it up to them to let you in on what this one's all about! Yeah, I'm a lazy reviewer-- what's it to ya?

As I'd hoped, the picture and sound quality of this DVD are both very good. Of course, when you put into consideration the fact that South Park™ features some of the lowest-tech-looking animation around, I imagine it'd be a real stretch to screw up the picture quality. I'm still somewhat miffed, however, that WB™ still hasn't gotten around to putting their DVDs in sturdy plastic cases, rather than the flimsy cardboard covers they still prefer to use. It's like, get outta the Stone Age already! Like, you know, man?

'Late!

very, very funny
This is a good collection of episodes. Like the other reviewers, I think that "Scott Tennerman Must Die" is the best because it is so twisted. The other three episodes are also funny. My second favorite is "Cripple Fight." In addition to the Jimmy vs. Timmy angle, there is the hysterical send up of the gays in scouts issue. My only problem with this episode and, in fact, the other two is that they end with a minute long moralistic speech. I don't watch South Park to be preached to by Matt and Trey, which they unfortunately have been doing way too often over the past year or so. Even when I agree with what their position is, it's delivered in a trite way. Still the first 20 minutes of each episode is great.

My only reason for giving this 4 stars is that I, too, miss the "extras" that were present on the first few dvd's. The introductions by Trey and Matt were very funny and added something "new." I especially like the dvd which features the interview of Trey and Matt (and some unknown guy) sitting in a hot tub, giving silly answers to most of the questions.

These guys are really funny. Can't wait for some of my other favorites to appear on dvd.
