Dual - Trouble Adventure - Student Housing (Vol. 2)
Released in DVD by Pioneer Video (28 November, 2000)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Dual and Masaki Kajishima
Kazuki and Mitsuki attempt to adjust to life in the parallel world where they were inadvertently sent by Mitsuki's addled scientist-father: they pose as siblings, attend school, and train as pilots for the Core Robots used in the strangely stylized war with the fanatic Rara.

The situation is further complicated by the arrival of the amnesiac alien girl D, who talks like the robot-heroine of Key, the Metal Idol, and the attractive Yayoi, their school teacher, battle instructor, and house guest. Yayoi's presence arouses Mitsuki's jealousy over who will be the domestic leader of this mismatched ménage. Mitsuki arranges an engagement interview for Yayoi with a wealthy industrialist just as the next battle with Rara begins. Rara unveils a gargantuan, seemingly invincible robot that is an example of "ancient technology," and the battle ends with Kazuki's capture.

Dualis a series that sharply divides otaku. Fans praise its blend of humor and adventure; detractors dismiss it as weak copy of "Evangelion." It's similar in tone to the "El Hazard" series, with a whiny, put-upon hero and strong female characters linked by ill-defined relationships. There's little chemistry between the characters, which makes it difficult to care about them.

Rated for ages 13 and up for mild profanity, sexual humor, and robot vs. robot violence. --Charles Solomon

Have I seen this before?
From the beginning of this movie/series you can see Evangelion, it looks like a very clear duplication done poorly. There are many parts that compare to Tenchi Muyo as well but the similarities to Evangelion just never left my mind. Nothing particularly wrong with the title except the lack of any real action, just nothing to recomend it either.

If you want another title to add to your collection you can do worse, but if your on a budget skip this and buy something else.

Dual Student Houseing Kicks!
For any of you curious out there, it's a mix between Evangelion and Tenchi Muyo. If your an anime fan you'll really dig this flick about a kid and his paralell world adventures. Robots and girls, what more could a guy ask for in an anime? I think that the creators did a good job and I love the show now. I am looking way foward to the next two and hope they are just as good. The art work was pretty good and so is the cgi, but it's more a comedy then anything. It is much like Tenchi and if you have the slightest doubt about it, buy it! Trust me, it is so worth it. Once you get hooked on this seris you'll be wanting to see it more.

Superb !
While I agree with the previous reviewer that this is great, I don't think you should slam other shows to make another show look good. I like Dual , El Hazard, Evangelion , AND Tenchi Muyo! Don't let his review discourage you from trying these shows out, go out and try them as well as this fine DVD of Dual.

The Student Nurses
Released in DVD by New Concorde Home En (11 March, 2003)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Stephanie Rothman
Average review score:

Very entertaining with talented cast.
The first of Roger Corman's 'Nurse' films. The print is crystal clear and the sound excellent. The film stars the talented Elaine Giftos as Nurse Sharon Armitage, Karen Carlson as Phred Stella, Brioni Farrell as Lynn Verdugo and Barbara Leigh as Priscilla Kovac. The four likeable leads are supported well by Darrell Larson, Reni Santoni, Richard Rust and Lawrence Casey.
Listen carefully to the voice of the psychiatrist Ronald Gans, whose voice has been heard on many trailers over the years.
The music is good and the locations well chosen. Highly recommended.

Student Bodies - 4 Movies
Released in DVD by Bci Eclipse Llc (17 September, 2002)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Starring: D Quaid and D Caruso
Average review score:

Bad movies, bad quality, the cover is the best part
Here you have 4 movies on DVD that look like a copy of a copy of an old vhs tape.
Video and audio quality are not up to par, not to mention the content contained on the DVD's.
Poor "acting" from a few (now) big name stars, with even poorer plots.
The cover to the DVD is the best part of the deal.

Great value for 4 low-quality camp movies
This DVD set has almost no extra features (Play and Scene Access only), and seems like they took bad prints of four old movies and simply dumped them onto DVD. There's dust on the frames plus occasional minor film rips, dropped frames and warped sound.

So why 4 stars? The quality is good enough to watch the movies without significant distraction, and the lack of reproduction quality actually kind of adds to the "feel" of watching old campy movies. And most importantly, [money](the price when this was written) for 4 movies on DVD is an absolute [bargain].

Important point: "The Harrad Experiment" included in this set is the full uncensored original version (Rated R, 97 minutes), not the 'edited for TV' version which is all that's available on standalone DVD and VHS today.

There are also a number of well-known actors in these movies, often in roles before they became famous.

Included on this 2 DVD set (each movie is on one side of a DVD):

"Seniors" (1978) with Dennis Quaid and Priscilla Barnes. Four students open a bogus sex clinic for cheap thrills and then are amazed to see it blossom into a profitable business

"Getting Wasted" (1980) with David Caruso. Cadets at a military academy get involved with the 60's drug culture.

"Secrets of Sweet Sixteen" (AKA "Sweet 16" - 1981) with Bo Hopkins, Patrick McNee and Larry Storch. Why are all the boys dying to meet Melissa?

"The Harrad Experiment" (1973) with James Whitmore, Tippy Hedren, Bruno Kirby, Don Johnson (plus if you look, you can find Melanie Griffith, Gregory Harrison, and Fred Willard). At the coed Harrad College the students experience a college policy of sexual freedom.
