20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Special Edition)
Released in DVD by Walt Disney Home Video (20 May, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: Richard Fleischer
Starring: Kirk Douglas and James Mason
The swashbuckler genre bumped into science fiction in 1954 for one of Hollywood's great entertainments. The Jules Verne story of adventure under the sea was Walt Disney's magnificent debut into live-action films. A professor (Paul Lukas) seeks the truth about a legendary sea monster in the years just after the Civil War. When his ship is sunk, he, his aide (Peter Lorre), and a harpoon master (Kirk Douglas) survive to discover that the monster is actually a metal submarine run by Captain Nemo (James Mason). Along with the rollicking adventure, it's fun to see the future technology that Verne dreamed up in his novel, including diving equipment and sea farming. The film's physical prowess is anchored by the Nautilus, an impressive full-scale gothic submarine complete with red carpet and pipe organ. In the era of big sets, 20,000 Leagues set a precedent for films shot on the water and deservedly won Oscars for art direction and special effects. Lost in the inventiveness of the film and great set pieces including a giant squid attack are two great performances. Mason is the perfect Nemo, taut and private, clothed in dark fabric that counters the Technicolor dreamboat that is the beaming red-and-white-stripe-shirted Kirk Douglas as the heroic Ned Land. The film works as peerless family adventure nearly half a century later. --Doug Thomas

After your children watch Finding Nemo -- make sure they take time with the real Captain Nemo! Also - if you're children are ready to learn more about the ocean, check out Captain Jon Explores the Ocean on DVD on Amazon.

Finally 20,000 Leagues Under THe Sea is on DVD
I just got my copy of this great DVD. And I love it so much. I always had been a huge fan of the movie. I really liked the fact that Disney Vault Disneyized this feature. And included exclusive interviews and specail features.

Here Is a Brief Description:

A Doctor and his Secreatery take a sea voyage when there boat is sunk by a mysterious monster from the deep, they also meet the Hansome , And muscular Kirk Douglas. Well they go on a small voyage and they find a platform of a ship. Well they climb down it and they find themselves in the ship of Captain Nemo (James Mason) the Nautilus which they later find out is the same ship that sunk their boat and many others. They have lots of adventures which inculde a Squid Attack and a lot of other neat stuff.

Great Movie. 5 Star Rating.

Voyage of the Nautilus
Kirk Douglas and James Mason explore the mysteries of the deep in the Sci-Fi classic "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". Rumours of a sea monster that attacks ships, has open the interests of a curious French scientist (Paul Lukas), his faithful aide (Peter Lorre) and an able harpoonist (Kirk Douglas). Upon a striking encounter, they learn that the "sea monster" is a powerful under-water vessel under the command of the vengeful Captain Nemo (James Mason). "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" is a remarkable adaptation of Jules Verne's stunning adventure tale. The film features a powerful story, great under-water photography and a rich music score. Kirk Douglas, Paul Lukas and Peter Lorre are well cast but it's James Mason's intense performance of Captain Nemo that often drives the whole film. It also contains some impressive visuals and thrilling momments including a gripping battle against a giant squid.

Disney gives "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" the full "2-Disc special edition" treatment. The movie is presented in it's original theatrical widescreen format. The DVD contains an amazing video transfer and clear digital sound quality. Disc 2 features exclusive bonus material including Behind-the-scene featurettes, Theatrical trailer, picture gallery and audio commentaries. Like previous Disney DVD, the disc also contains forced commercials and trailers of upcoming Disney releases. Overall, it scores an "A".

Futurama, Vol. 2
Released in DVD by Twentieth Century Fox Home Video (12 August, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Matt Groening
Matt Groening's second season of the 31st century sci-fi sitcom Futurama maintained the high scripting standards of the first and also well brought improved digital animation. Couch potato Fry now seems thoroughly reconciled to his new existence, transported 10 centuries hence to "New New York" and working for Professor Farmsworth's delivery service. He's surrounded by a cast of freaks, including the bitchily cute Amy (with whom he has a romantic brush) and Hermes, the West Indian bureaucrat. Most sympathetic is the one-eyed Leela (voiced by Katey Segal). Like Lisa Simpson, she is brilliant but unappreciated; she finds solace in her pet Nibbler, a tiny creature with a voracious, carnivorous appetite. By contrast, Bender, the robot, is programmed with every human vice, a sort of metal Homer Simpson with a malevolent streak.

In one of the best episodes, Bender is given a "feelings" chip in order to empathize with Leela after he flushes Nibbler down the toilet. Elsewhere, Fry falls in love with a mermaid when the team discover the lost city of Atlanta, Fry and Bender end up going to war after they join the army to get a discount on gum, and John Goodman guest stars as Santa Claus, an eight-foot gun-toting robot. Brimful with blink-and-you'll-miss-them hip jokes (such as the sign for the Taco Bellevue hospital) and political and pop satire, Futurama isn't a stern warning of things to come but rather, as the makers put it, "a brilliant, hilarious reflection of our own materially (ridiculously) overdeveloped but morally underdeveloped society." --David Stubbs

Average review score:

A cynical, hilarious view of the future
Matt Groening's vision of how technology improves but people never do really shines in the 2nd season of Futurama. The jokes are as densely packed as in The Simpsons and are no less clever. Human behavior gets skewered along with the sillier paradoxes and hackneyed concepts that often appear in lesser works of science fiction. Thoroughly enjoyable, you'll find new jokes in it each time you watch it.

Even better than the first volume.
19 episodes, all with audio commentary, with delected scenes from 15 of the episodes and tons of extras. Some of the greatest episodes are in this volume, such as 'A Head In The Polls','Raging Bender','Bender Gets Made' and 'The Honking'. OK, OK, I am a Bender fan. But that's the best part - with four DVDs, even the fans of Dr. Zoidberg will find a few episodes they can enjoy (the poor losers). DVDs full of Nixon, new alien races, clones, the Robot Mafia, lots of talking heads plus lots of guest stars like Al Gore and Bob Barker. Futurama also steals from and/or makes fun of Star Wars, Star Trek and other Sci-Fi classics and not-so-classic Sci-Fi. Bender says to buy this collection or else!

Great DVD
Some people dont like this show, but to many it is the greatest show every created. While i may not laugh as many times during a futurama episode as i will during a simpsons or family guy episode, i like futurama better. The concept for the show is great. Matt Groening invented a masterpiece. If u have doubts, family guy is on fox and tbs. watch a few episodes and decide

Elizabeth R
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (16 October, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Jackson, Crutchley, Ellis, Hardy, and Glenda Jackson
Glenda Jackson is majestic in the six-video miniseries from the BBC, Elizabeth R. Covering the entire reign of Elizabeth I, from her struggles with her half-sister Mary just before being crowned as queen to her death in 1603, the series profiles the life of the Virgin Queen in detail--and with historical accuracy--not possible in the as beautiful, but much shorter, theatrical release, Elizabeth. Religious conflicts, her struggle over the execution of her cousin Mary, Queen of Scots, battles with Spain, court politics, and of course her flirtations with Robert Dudley (portrayed as an almost-comical fop by Robert Hardy) and her decision to remain unmarried are just some of the highlights of this magnificently costumed and finely acted piece. Jackson skillfully captures the capricious moods and incredible intellect of the queen who defied the pope and the conventions of the time as a strong-willed woman, and characters from textbooks--Sir Francis Bacon, Sir Walter Raleigh, King Phillip II--come vividly to life. Elizabeth R (and for those not in the know, the "R" is for "Regina") is a splendid melding of history and entertainment, and as thorough as this series is, you will still long for more. --Jenny Brown

Memories
I am a 44 year old transplanted Irishwoman and I well remember seeing this and the six wives of Henry the VIII as a child. How I looked forward to Wednesday nights. This series awoke a lifelong love of history. Further, on vacation in London I visited an exebition of the costumes used. Do you know that, to clean them, they were vacuumed and special corsets had to be worn because the costumes were so heavy!!!

I love this series!
I've watched this series on DVD many, many times since I bought it. The acting, the portrayals, and the costuming are amazing. This series is about as historically accurate as drama is going to get. It does suffer from some of the drawbacks of early 70s television-bad lighting, no changes of camera angle, the occasional awkward zoom effect, etc. but that hardly detracts from the series' compelling watchability. This is a must-see for anyone who loves the Tudor period.

Dean Everman
I waited with baited breath for this series to arrive. It came from the seller with excellent care and comfort. I look forward to viewing the series, and I thank the seller for their care in sending it to me. As Her Majesty might have said, "We are most pleased."

Hairspray
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (05 November, 2002)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: John Waters
Starring: Sonny Bono, Ruth Brown, and Divine
John Waters made his bid for PG respectability with this enjoyably trashy comedy about the racial integration of a teen dance show on Baltimore television in the early '60s. Waters, as always, makes a virtue of junk culture and the powerful emotional forces it can represent as kids vie to get on the show. Meanwhile, a parade of former stars (Pia Zadora, Debbie Harry, Sonny Bono) and pseudostars (Divine, Ricki Lake) cross the screen, playing freakish characters absorbed by thoughts of fame. (Waters himself turns up as a weirdo psychiatrist.) This transitional film for Waters is rough going at times and not as interesting or funny as his later features Cry-Baby and Serial Mom, but it's worth a look. --Tom Keogh

THE MUSICAL!
Awesome! The musical is coming to Toronto too. They gave it eight Tony Awards! I hear there's going to be a look-a-like contest and $19.00 tickets on December 1st at 6am at the Theater there...I think it's the Princess of Wales Theater. I'll be first in line cool cats!

A really funny comedy bursting with talent. I loved it!
I saw this film when it first came out in 1988. I loved it then. I recently saw it on the small screen. I loved it even more. Maybe its because I've followed the career of its star, Ricki Lake, and have seen her transformed from a chubby teenager into a slim talk show host. Maybe its because I can appreciate the comic genius of director John Waters who is willing to push the envelope over the top on every scene. Maybe its because I really enjoyed watching the double role played by the transvestite called Divine. Maybe its because of the outrageous clothes worn by all the characters. Most of all though, I know its because this film made me laugh out loud.

Hairspray is set in the early sixties, when teen age dance programs were all the rage. And its about a fat girl who doesn't fit in, but yet is a terrific dancer. She becomes a teenage idol though and the whole city loves her. She's smart and sassy and also wants to force the dance show to racially integrate. And she manages to do this with just the right degree of gumption, comedy and romance. The casting includes Sonny Bono and Deborah Harry as the parents of a teenager who is Ricki's competition, Colleen Fitzpatrick. And the singer Ruth Brown not only has a role of the mother of a teenager who is trying to integrate the show, she sings too. Divine plays the role of Ricki's mother as well as the male owner of the TV show. And Jerry Stiller is cast as Ricki's father.

All in all, the film is bursting with talent. I sat there, relaxed, and laughed my head off. This is truly a funny comedy. Highly recommended.

Hey-diddly BOP! (Continental, Continental...)
John Waters purists may argue that HAIRSPRAY, his great crossover hit, is nowhere near as lowdown dirty and outrageously sidesplitting as his earlier guerilla films, but there's no denying that this is his smoothest piece of work, with by far the best performances. Everyone by this point knows that the film concerns the attempts of Tracy Turnblad, "an upper lower-class" overweight white girl from inner-city 1962 Baltimore, to get onto a popular local television dance show and then to integrate it successfully. The entire cast (even the supporting throwaway parts: catch the facial expressions of Amber's friends when she's dissing Tracy in class) is just about perfect, and is led by three magnificent teenage performances: Ricki Lake as the supremely confident Tracy; Divine, as her charmingly pushing mother; and the scene-stealer Colleen Fitzpatrick as Tracy's rival, the abominable blonde Amber. One thing that really helps the film is the superb soundtrack from the early 60s, which keeps things hopping, and the marvelous dancing (particularly on the part of Lake and Fitzpatrick) to accompany it.

The DVD version is really a treat, offering one of the finest and funniest director's commentators ever from John Waters: it's amazing to hear how much background was behind the film, which chronicles his real-life obsession with a similar Baltimore early 60's dance show. There are also some comments from Lake, who unsurprisingly reveals what a diva she really is (she's STILL upset with Waters for making her dye her hair for the film!). But the Waters's comments are laugh-out-loud funny, and there are far more of them than Lake's, which is a blessing.

The West Wing - The Complete First Season
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (18 November, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Martin Sheen
Conventional wisdom prior to season one of The West Wing was that the only successful television shows were half hour sitcoms and hour long police, legal, or medical dramas. Building on surplus ideas from his film The American President and the walk-and-talk style of comedy and drama from his critically acclaimed television show Sports Night, Aaron Sorkin bucked the trend and created his masterpiece, one of the most memorable American political depictions to reach the big or small screen. Season one introduces viewers to a Nobel Prize-winning economist and unabashed intellectual president Jed Bartlet (Martin Sheen) and his key staff members, a newly elected Democratic administration trying to find its footing amidst the corridors of the White House's west wing. To the credit of its cast and their brilliant ensemble acting, The West Wing manages to immediately conjure nearly a dozen distinct and memorable characters. Perhaps the greatest star of all is Sorkin's rapid-fire dialogue, especially as delivered by Press Secretary C.J. Craig (Alison Janney), Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman (Bradley Whitford), Deputy Communications Director Sam Seaborn (Rob Lowe), and Chief of Staff Leo McGarry (John Spencer). They carry on conversations while stalking purposefully and unhaltingly down corridors, around corners, and through doorways, and all of it unfurls with the choreographic precision of a classical ballet and the pace of an Olympic ping-pong rally.

What emerges is more than a collective liberal dream of an impassioned administration battling back ultra-conservative bogeymen ranging from the religious right to bigots to gun-toting militants. Wonderful episodes like "The Pilot" and "In Excelsis Deo" portray a government led by heroic, intelligent, and decent men and women. Whether or not one regards that as a political fantasy, it's a remarkably refreshing and appealing vision of politics and its practitioners, one that the public embraced with consistently strong television ratings. In a country whose citizens are used to viewing their elected leaders with mistrust and cynicism, that might be The West Wing's greatest accomplishment. --Eugene Wei

no widescreen.....bring on Season 2!
The anticipation was well worth it....a great drama that keeps me glued to the T.V. One problem is the lack of widescreen format.......hopefully they get that changed for the next season. Also, can't wait for the second season to be released!!

Well this is something better for a change....
Getting past all the stupid teen shows and tasteless sitcoms on DVD. Someone finally said, "Let's Put The West Wing" on DVD. GREAT IDEA. At last a real show with something to say comes to DVD, and it has everything. Great writing, fine cast of actors, and a sense of realism and honesty about it, that is so missing on so many other TV shows. Let's have some more please.

Worth the wait?
YES! Good things are worth waiting for. It's one thing to relive the best television from the first year, but to have all these extra added bonuses is a real treat! I've never seen a DVD that took the time and effort to make such a well rounded and jam packed package. It makes me wonder what they will have for the second season and beyond. Excellent tidbits from Aaron Sorkin and others. Package is first class from top to bottom and well worth the price. Thank you NBC for finally putting West Wing on DVD.

City of God
Released in DVD by Buena Vista Home Vid (02 December, 2003)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Directors: Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund
Starring: Alexandre Rodrigues, Leandro Firmino, and Matheus Nachtergaele
Like cinematic dynamite, City of God lights a fuse under its squalid Brazilian ghetto, and we're a captive audience to its violent explosion. The titular favela is home to a seething army of impoverished children who grow, over the film's ambitious 20-year timeframe, into cutthroat killers, drug lords, and feral survivors. In the vortex of this maelstrom is L'il Z (Leandro Firmino da Hora--like most of the cast, a nonprofessional actor), self-appointed king of the dealers, determined to eliminate all competition at the expense of his corrupted soul. With enough visual vitality and provocative substance to spark heated debate (and box-office gold) in Brazil, codirectors Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund tackle their subject head on, creating a portrait of youthful anarchy so appalling--and so authentically immediate--that City of God prompted reforms in socioeconomic policy. It's a bracing feat of stylistic audacity, borrowing from a dozen other films to form its own unique identity. You'll flinch, but you can't look away. --Jeff Shannon

CITY OF TRUTH
This film is the truth!! The experience of growing up in a violent ghetto has never been closer to the truth than this. I grew up in the heart of the crack epidemic in Washington Heights, NYC, the birthplace of crack cocaine, so take my word for it. Everything from it's beautiful cinematography to it's skillful quick tempo storytelling, taking you from one character to the next without missing a beat is perfect!! This film is on my Top 5 favorite list and should be on yours, so enjoy!!!!!!!

storytelling and violence at its best
forget about boyz n da hood or menace to society, gangs of new york was a joke. This is the real deal, and best of all its all based on a true story. Rocket is a boy who grows up in the slums of Rio De Janeiro a small city called " City of God" and sees the harsh brutal reality that is life in the hood. Youngs kids and teenagers run the city with guns and drug deals is an everyday occurrence. The actors are perfect, story is flawless full of surprises and twists, both shocking and humorous.

This is truly a great movie and should not be missed!!!!!!!!!

City of God, The Joe Martin review
City of God is the film equivalent of being hit in the head with a sledghammer. From its opening sequence involving a fast paced chase scene between a chicken and and dozens of gun toting teenagers and children to its blood soaked ending this movie grabs you immediately and doesnt release its hold for even one moment.
You become immersed in the characters and the irony of the film in my opinion is that even the worste characters inspire pity rather than anger or dislike as is exemplified by the scene where Ze Pequeno kneels over the body of his murdered friend, crying and inefectually shoots his pistol into the air. It is his conditioned response to everything. But we, as he, realize you cant shoot someone back to life.
Products of their environment and desensitized to violence to such a level, that when one of the main characters brother's dies we see that he is less concerned with the death of his brother and more interested in the camera somone is using to take pictures of the dead body. These children have seen it all by a very young age.
The violence in this movie is chilling. Although disgusting we realize it is central to the theme and necessary to the plot.

See this movie. It is quite simply unbelievable.

really surprising
Now, I normally don't watch DBZ. Actually, I used to think it was some lame, gay show on Cartoon Network for little kids. But my friend is obsessed with it and made me sit down and watch it in the original Japanese version. Watching Vegeta die with tears in his eyes made me actually cry too, even though before I hated this show. Even if you do hate DBZ, this is well worth the watch, because it's really emotional and well depicted.

unknown
OMG, these episodes are SO sad... i mean, vegeta's my fave character and i find his death deadly (LOL^^)sad... i was crying my heart our when his hand collapsed

So Good
Before I thought this show was so stupid! I sometimes saw this show in stores and I'd think "Is that dandruff flying from their hair. But after this episode, my mind changed entirely. I felt like I wanted to cry when I saw the tears rolling down Vegeta's eyes. I felt so emotional! I had not felt this way in so long. This is a touching scene that must be watched if you like Dragonball Z or not.

The Young Ones - Every Stoopid Episode
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (17 September, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
"Anything could happen!" declares Rik Mayall, co-writer and co-star of British TV show The Young Ones--and he's right. Though this manic comedy series centered around the petty bickering of four layabouts living in a communal house in London--paranoid, hyperactive new waver Rick (Mayall), dense punk rocker Vyvyan (Adrian "Ade" Edmondson), lugubrious hippied Neil (Nigel Planer), and would-be sharp guy Mike (Christopher Ryan)--at any moment the show could switch to kibbitzing rats or romantic vegetables, or Buddy Holly could be discovered hanging from a parachute in the attic. Bands (as varied as Madness and Motorhead) suddenly appear in their living room and pound out a pop hit. It all seems a bit spastic at first, but the frenzy grows infectious, becoming funnier the more you watch it (in sharp contrast to most sitcoms). The Young Ones aspires to have the elastic energy and surreality of a living cartoon and comes pretty close to the mark. Guest stars include Emma Thompson, Terry Jones of Monty Python, and Jennifer Saunders of Absolutely Fabulous. This compilation also includes a few documentary features and a couple of episodes from other sitcoms starring Mayall, Edmondson, and Planer (Filthy Rich & Catflap and Bottom). --Bret Fetzer

ONE OF THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!
This show broke all the rules of the BBC in it's time! Many of the scenes would not even go over on prime time US TV right now!Running only a couple of seasons(1982-1984) All together. The Young Ones made a great impact to British comedy. They loved Monty Python but wanted to shock people even more, So that is what they did. The BBC never saw anything like it!! You have four young guys living together picking on each other and British pop lengend...Cliff Richard, Constantly. You have Rik, (Rik Mayall) A poet in his own mind. Thinks of himself as a really cool/hip guy but is really a bit of a nerd. Vivian the crazy punk/metal head (Adrain Edmondson) Who loves to smash and break things. Mike (Christopher Ryan) The ladies man who always leads the others. And last Neil (Nigel Planer) The hippy who everyone loves to make fun of and who takes most of the insults. Put them all together in a small house and it's a slug-fest! I bought this set on VHS only a few years ago for almost twice the price. At last on DVD and at this price! You can't go wrong. This DVD set also includes two other projects Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson did after the Young Ones. Not long after the show Rik and Ade teamed up again for the show, Filthy Rich and Catflap, It's not that good. However, On this DVD set is the first episode of Bottom. This is very good!! Rik And Ade team up again and go back to what they do so well...Working together. Also on this set are a a couple extra features on the making/history of The Young Ones. These are great because it's nice to see what they look like now.

Enjoy yourself. Be stupid and buy this!
Absolutely the best!
The chemistry of the five main characters (Edmondson, Mayall, Planer, Ryan, and Sayle) mesh like so few shows ever have.
Why is this show so great? Because it always went for broke.
Every show is an absolute trainwreck! If you don't find it funny, you've probably been lobotomized!

Hands Up Who Likes Me?
I have waited and waited and waited since the early 80s for this. "The Young Ones" is a look at 4 guys, with 4 different personalities, sharing a flat, living in Britian. Watching these brings back great memories for me as well as laughing so hard that tears actually stream down my face. If you like alternative humor then this is a great pick. Buy it and meet Rik, Vyvyan, Neil and Mike as they try (or do they?) to get along with each other! You know you want to, right kids?

Above the Rim
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (14 January, 2003)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Jeff Pollack
Starring: Duane Martin and Tupac Shakur
This rousing basketball drama centers around Tommy "Shep" Sheppard (Leon), a former high school basketball star now haunted by the accidental death of his best friend, and Kyle Watson (Duane Martin), an arrogant high school player in danger of slipping into crime. Though Shep avoids commitment in his life as a security guard, his attraction to Kyle's mother (Tonya Pinkins) draws him out of his protective shell--but Kyle is more interested in mentorship from Shep's gangster brother Birdie (Tupac Shakur). Above the Rim is melodramatic but played with grit and energy by a solid cast, particularly Shakur. Writer-director Jeff Pollack keeps the story moving and gives the characters enough spin to rescue them from being clichés; the result is engaging despite its formulas. Also featuring Bernie Mac and Marlon Wayans. --Bret Fetzer

Above the Rim (1994)
Above the Rim is probably the best basketball movie there is. This movie aint like Hoosiers. It has tons of street ball and action. My man 2pac stars in this movie as Birdie, a drug dealer who tries to get a talented high school player named Kyle(Duane Martin) involved in his business and play for their team in a tournament. Kyle has to decide what is best for his future but Birdie and his gang pressure him to join. The basketball scenes are crazy and the music is one the parts that stands out. The theme song played throughout the movie ("Pain" by 2pac) is still one of my favorite songs even though it is almost ten years old. This movie on DVD has the trailer and you can watch it in widescreen. Overall, its better than the VHS. If you havent seen this movie yet then buy it QUICK. R.I.P. 2pac

u think 2pac is just a good rapper think again
I WAS FIRST JUST A FAN OF 2PACS MUSIC. I STARTED WATCHING SOME OF HIS MOVIES AND FOUND QUICKLY HE WAS A GOOD ACTOR TO . IF YOU LIKE HIS MUSIC I WOULD SUGGEST U SEE HIS MOVIES TWO ESECIALLY THIS ONE IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!

A Great Movie!!!
Above The Rim is a very good movie. It is about a high school basketball standout and a security guard. It also stars Tupac Shakur as the security guard's gangster brother named Birdie. Shakur puts out a great acting performance and the movie is very good overall. I highly reccomend this movie!

A Goofy Movie
Released in DVD by Walt Disney Home Video (20 June, 2000)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: Kevin Lima
Starring: Bill Farmer and Jason Marsden
Even as Disney has reveled in the success of its high-end animated features, it occasionally sneaks a lesser effort into theaters, based on one of the many TV shows with which it dominates daytime TV. This one is based on perennial Disney favorite Goofy's adventures in domesticated bliss. Goofy is now a single dad; when son Max gets blamed for a prank gone wrong at school, Goofy blames himself and decides that, for his vacation, he's going to get away with Max alone. Of course, this is no treat for Max, who has just met the girl of his dreams and harbors no wish to spend the summer touring America with his square dad. The vacation is one disaster after another, though they aren't particularly funny disasters; the culmination involves Goofy's efforts to get Max backstage at a big rock concert. Strictly for young fans of the TV show. --Marshall Fine

Complete with Walt himself introducing it and EVERYTHING! It's just as charming as you remember it, and it makes this DVD a MUST OWN FOR GOOFY FANS EVERYWHERE! Even if you wouldn't dare touch "A Goofy Movie" with a ten-foot cattle prod, get it just for THIS! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Who's your favorite possum?
I don't think anyone should feel embarrassed admitting that they like this movie- it's great! Yes, I did first see it when I was in...middle school, I think, but it is SUCH a classic! Very funny- very cool, and- it's goofy! It even has cool music! (powerline...! :) )
I've since graduated, and now I work in a kids-care center and see this movie ATLEAST three times a week, and I still love it! In fact, if it's my decision what movie gets put in, 9 times out of 10 this is what I'll choose!

(answer: LESTER!)

Did not expect this!
This movie kicked serious booty! It may not seem as good as it looks- but to me it was worth my while. Great character design, great animation, great storyline and very real in the way each generation is bizarrely different! I never liked goofy until i saw this movie. Max, Goofy's son, was clearly my favorite. Some of the road trip stops made me fall over laughing, and the climax/ outcomes of the movie were very unpredictable! I actually enjoyed the characters in the movie! Kids, teens and adults will like this movie. I liked it, and being a teenager myself, I don't feel embarrassed to comment the movie- I watched it when I was little, and now i watched it recently- honestly not expecting much- but i liked it! I enjoyed it so much I gave it 5 stars. The songs are slightly out of whack but I liked it all in all. Try it out!
