KUNG FU CLASSIC!
Bruce returns to Hong Kong when his father is mudered. Then his mother is attacked by the black dragon society. Bruce sets out to destroy the society with only his bare hands. Also look out for "The Legend of Bruce Lee". Don't get Tai Seng's release coz it's not the same film and Bruce Lee isn't even in it. Be sure to get Bruce The Super Hero

Charlotte's Web/Charlotte's Web 2
Released in DVD by Paramount Home Video (18 March, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Directors: Charles A. Nichols and Iwao Takamoto
Starring: Debbie Reynolds and Henry Gibson
Charlotte's Web
This animated feature based on the popular E.B. White book for children--about the special relationships between Wilbur the pig, Charlotte the spider, and Templeton the rat--is a straight adaptation from the page, with songs added. Endearing, heartbreaking, and ultimately wise, it may not please all of those with a strong attachment to the book, but it works all the same. --Tom Keogh

Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure
Spinning a yarn that begins where the 30-year-old original concluded, Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure returns to Zuckerman's farm for more endearing pig tales. Faint-hearted Wilbur preserves his dear friend Charlotte's memory by befriending the lone black sheep of the farm. When a trip to the county fair separates the comrades, Wilbur musters his courage to find his frightened woolly pal. Along the way, a sticky encounter with a beehive leaves Wonder Pig looking more like Feral Pig... and suddenly Wilbur is to blame for a hungry fox's doings. Charlotte's three sprightly daughters save the day, despite amateur weaving abilities. Preserving the quiet pace and beautiful watercolor look of the original, this animated 75-minute show should appeal to new fans. But adults who fondly recall many bittersweet moments shared by Charlotte and Wilbur, and timeless songs like "Mother Earth and Father Time," might feel slightly cheated. (Ages 3 and older) --Liane Thomas

Scott IS Scrooge!
Scott plays the quintessential Scrooge in this adaptation. Don't understand why it is not shown on TV..........
Oh well, don't care I own it. Would not be Christmas without it. Oh sure, I still like the Alstair Sims' version also, but George C. Scott brings an added depth to Scrooge's character. Great Scott!

Clint Eastwood - Hero (Absolute Power / Heartbreak Ridge / A Perfect World)

Triple Threat
This review refers to the "Clint Eastwood - Hero" DVD 3-pack by Warner Bros(10/03 release)....

So... what does an aging master thief, a rough, gruff Gunnery Sgt, and a seasoned Texas Ranger have in common? Well..Clint of course! All three of these films found in this 'hero' collection, which include "Absolute Power","Heartbreak Ridge" and "A Perfect World", are must haves for Eastwood fans. These are three of his works that really show off his expertise in front of and behind the camera as these were all directed by him as well. They also include some of the best talent in Hollywood as Clint has a knack for surrounding himself with the finest actors.

"Absolute Power" from 1997 is the newest of the trio. It's a terrific thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat as Clint goes up against some mighty powerful enemies. He is an aging master thief, and while in the process off pulling of the ultimate job, witnesses a murder. And this murder involves the most powerful man in the world. When Clint is the chief suspect, he must prove that the blood trail leads all the way to the Whitehouse. Not an easy task for our guy, as he is being persued by all sides. The film is multi-faceted as it also let's us in on this thief's softer side as he tries to build a relationship with his estranged daughter. A huge cast includes, Ed Harris, Gene Hackman, Laura Linney, Scott Glenn,Judy Davis, Dennis Haysbert and the great E.G. Marshall.

"Heartbreak Ridge" from 1986 is Eastwood's tough guy image personified. He is Gunnery Sgt. Tom "Gunny" Highway. Gunny has seen it all, and done it all. He's a decorated war hero who has survived battle in both Korea and Vietnam. He's tough and gruff and will soon face mandatory retirement. With no war to fight his last assignment is to whip the members of a raw but feisty recon platoon into shape. He's up against an unwilling group,a "follow orders or else"(not exactly his style)type commanding officer, and an ex-wife who's as feisty as the recruits. Both he and his men(and his ex-wife) are put to the test when war breaks out on the Island of Grenada. Marsha Mason co-stars and the cast is nicely rounded out by Mario VanPeebles, Moses Gunn, Bo Svenson and the wonderful Eileen Heckart.

Completeing this trio in the 'Hero' series is a film from 1993,"A Perfect World". Fans will more appreciate the director side of Eastwood in this one. He's a seasoned Texas Ranger who is in pursuit of an dangerous escaped convict who has kidnapped a small boy for a hostage.Kevin Costner is Haynes, the elusive fugitive and it his work in the film that is really showcased here. It's superbly acted by Costner, and beautifully directed by Eastwood. It's more than just a statewide cops and robbers chase, as the character development, and the past play a big part as the film progresses.Laura Dern also stars and the performance by T.J. Lowther the young actor who plays Phillip, the kidnap victim, is absolutely incredible.

This DVD boxed set is a great deal. Each in their own snap-case, they all present a very good picture, clear with nice color(Absolute Power is outstanding), in widescreen formats with 'AP' also giving the choice of a standard format, and all are in Dolby Dig 5.1 Surround sound. All the action and the wonderful musical scores, all composed by Lennie Niehaus sound fabulous. There's not much in the way of special features. Theatrical trailers and some cast bios. All have subtitles in English, French and Spanish.'AP' has some production notes. If you compare the price of this set to buying these films separately, you'll see what a good deal this is for the Eastwood fan(we're going to buy them all anyway!).Also makes a great gift, those who love Clint, will love this package, so go ahead and make their day!

Thanx...and enjoy.....Laurie

The "Executive Producer's" Thoughts
This is a really great prison film that truly shows what really goes on inside those dark prison walls across the US. The casting and storyline made the film. We were lucky to recruit incredible Eric Roberts,Martin Cove,Matthew Ansara and introducing our Producer, Tommy Lee Thomas who stars and of course, moi as "Jeanette" co-starring with Eric Roberts who plays Officer Hopkins. Definitely rent, buy and let it sweep you off into the world of action and intrigue............

Awesome low budget sci-fi
While clearly assembled for little more than pocket change, this bizarre combination of black humor and science fiction is its own category of high art. Superb acting, camera work, and effects easily help the viewer over the occasional "huh?" in the wandering storyline. This obviously disturbed filmmaker should be persuaded to make at least one more.

Coupling - The Complete First and Second Season
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (28 October, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Martin Dennis
This witty, instantly addictive British series could also be called Chaps or Squelchy in the City. Coupling charts the tangled sex lives of a close-knit group comprising "exes and best friends": womanizer Jack, hapless nice guy Steve, "strange and disturbing" Jeff, uninhibited Susan, neurotic Sally, and manipulative Jane. Coupling may inspire feelings of déjà-view. The obvious frame of reference is Friends (Steve and Susan are the Ross-Rachel equivalent), but this series also echoes Seinfeld in its coinage of catch-phrases (although it's doubtful that "the boyfriend zone" will replace "master of your domain") and plotlines (in episode one, Steve tries to dump Jane, who refuses to accept). But Coupling has its own fresh and provocative takes on relationships. At one point, a furious Susan discovers that Patrick not only had a videotape of the former couple having sex, but that he also taped over her. --Donald Liebenson

Steven Moffat's second season is a brilliant consolidation of all those neuroses, small deceits, obsessions, and personality tics that struck such a resonant chord when Steve, Susan, and their four friends were first unleashed on us. Comparisons with Friends itself are tiresome and lazy: Coupling is an intrinsically British comedy that picks apart the trivial and the mundane in everyday relationships and takes them on surreal journeys, leaving the participants hilariously bemused and rarely any wiser. Its success is due to the magical combination of Moffat's very funny scripts and the talents of six extremely likable actors, including Jack Davenport (Steve) and Sarah Alexander (Susan). But it's Richard Coyle's Jeff whose sexual fantasies exert a compelling fascination that will really keep you watching in disbelief. Breasts, bottoms and pants are the basis for most of the conversational analysis when these friends get together as a group, as couples, as girlfriends, or as mates, invariably becoming metaphors for the state of a relationship or situation. Individual viewpoints and terrors are explored through respective memories of the same event and what-if scenarios. Chain reactions inevitably ensue, fuelling comedy that is based almost entirely on misunderstanding. --Piers Ford

Funniest show EVER!
I got hooked on this show watching BBC America in its first season and it quickly became my favorite show of all time. Unfortunately, the American copy didn't work at all, but this DVD is a must have in any comedy enthusiast's collection. The comparison to a cross between 'Friends' and 'Sex and the City' doesn't do it justice. This series is fresh, witty and sometimes a little raunchy, but I've never laughed so hard! The writing and cast are superb and I can't wait for Series 3 on DVD!

Friends? No comparison!!
I have not seen the DVD version but I have seen every episode. This is our favorite British Comedy!!! I enjoy Friends but I never laugh this hard. My husband almost hurt himself laughing at poor neurotic Jeff doing his blindfolded strip tease for his "surprise" birthday party!!! Much wittier than Friends could be. The storylines in each episode are great!!! They are so convoluded with twist and turns. The American/NBC version was absolutely painful for us to watch..we wrote to NBC to complain! PLease don't compare the American version to the original - they are apples and oranges. The original is fantastic and I've ordered mine!! Can't wait til Christmas on this one!

The Crocodile Hunter - Wildest Home Videos/Big Croc Diaries

Steve and Terri at their best!
Crikey! I got this dvd for my son who wants to be "Steve's partner" when he grows up and found myself sitting there watching it too! Both parts fill in a lot of details about the other episodes...and shows a lot more of the bites, scratches and bloopers. We get to see Terri wrangling her first croc's, getting bitten by snakes and generally getting right into the middle of things. Steve gets preened, bitten and chomped on all the while showing us how animals should be loved and respected.

This dvd actually contains two full length episodes...Wild Home Movies (where a lot of the biting and running goes on), and Big Croc Diaries. This one goes into the lives of the biggest reptiles at the zoo...how they were captured and how they live at the zoo today. We get to see Steve and Terri feeding and caring for these wonderful animals. My son's only had this dvd for 24 hours but has already watched it THREE times.

Animal Planet...let's see more of these episodes available on dvd! As my son would say...Steve Rules!

CyberTracker
Released in DVD by Studio Home Entertainment (24 November, 1998)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Richard Pepin
Starring: Don 'The Dragon' Wilson, Richard Norton, and Stacie Foster
In the near future, computerized justice handles the apprehending and execution of dangerous criminals in the form of Cybertrackers, cyborgs that look like a cross between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mr. Clean. Secret service agent Eric Phillips (Don "the Dragon" Wilson) runs afoul of these alloyed androids when he's set up for the murder of an underground rebel fighting for a kinder, gentler form of mechanized law enforcement. Phillips joins the rebels, and together they kickbox their way toward wresting control of the judicial system from the hands of the stick figures who run it. Along the way, vehicles and androids alike blow up real good. This is Robocop with kickboxing instead of a cynical sense of humor. --Jim Gay

GOD BLESSED THE EARTH WHEN HE SENT US CYBER TRACKER
what else can i say but.....perfection. My faith in sci-fi was damaged with movies like terminator (1&2) The alien series and other horrid movies like predator. But low and behold a blessing comes in the form of CYBER TRACKER. This is the best movie i have ever seen, I will never understand why it was not nominated for oscar(s) It could have won in any catergory drama, comedy, action, and romance. Don the dragon Wilson gives possibly the best performence since John gertyue in Killer clowns from outer space. From the looks of it GOD himself did the special effects, not since Toxic avenger 4 have i seen effects like these. They were 2 say the least captivating. Not to mention the score James horner knows nothing about music compared to this guy. I dont know what else to say, you have to check his gem out for your self. and if you have time check out CYBER TRACKER2, CYBERNATOR(which is included in the great sci-fi double pack with cybercity) and cyborgcop please e-mail me back with your own personal reviews oh yeah it's a great country when you can get BIRD ON A WIRE, CYBERTRACKER, AND LEORNARD PART 6 ON DVD, BUT CANT GET STARWARS INDIANA JONES, FORREST GUMP, OR JURASSIC PARK AMONG OTHER CLASSICS THANX ALOT MR. LUCAS AND MR SPEILBERG COCK

Dandelion Dead
Released in DVD by Warner Home Video (27 August, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Mike Hodges
Average review score:

Wonderful British drama.
The year is 1921--Major Herbert Armstrong is a respected landowner and solictor--respected by everyone except his wife (played by Sarah Miles). Mrs Armstrong seeks every opportunity to humiliate her husband--in public and in private. She clearly despises him. Major Armstrong copes quite nicely with his life by largely ignoring his wife, escaping to the office (where he does as little work as possible), and maintaining an obsession with poisoning every dandelion that dares to rear its head on his property.

Events upset the equilibrium of his unhappy domestic life, and Major Armstrong takes drastic measures to improve his situation.

This is nearly a 3 1/2 hour long DVD--a British television production which is based on a true story. The acting is nothing less than superb. Michael Kitchen plays the weak Major--a man who maintains that "the best years" of his life were during WW1--he spent the entire time whooping it up in Bournemouth. Kitchen is truly incredible to watch.

This film was directed by Mike Hodges--and if you saw and enjoyed "Croupier," you will probably appreciate this film too.
