a "wow, this could really happen...what if..." movie!
if you have come to search for this movie here, then it is likely that someone has told you about it already. As it was only by chance that I came upon it and I am so glad that I did. A highly intelligent film, with a fantastic cast. Not only an entertaining couple of hours spent in front of the box, but a lasting, thought provoking story to go with it.

I would do the movie an injustice to try to do a synopsis of what the story is, and so I can only rave on about the experience I had whilst and after seeing it. I can't believe how few people have heard about it, and I just wish that it is easier to get ahold of copies!

This movie will leave you thinking "oh my gosh, that could really happen...what if....." I hope you do purchase it as you wont have any regrets.

Underrated movie
This is one of my favorite movies. A very thought-provoking film, hysterically funny and well done. I love the work of Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis (including the British tv series "Operation Good Guys") and think they're very underrated. This move is excellent on several levels. #1 It's creative and something that hasn't been done before- the concept of what people would REALLY be like if we were secretly taped (not the MTV Real World cra.p of someone losing their temper -oooh!-, getting drunk or being caught after a one night stand) but someone on the toilet, knicking a few bob from a friend, talking about disabled people, hitting his girlfriend or sticking a pool cue up his behind on a dare from friends. It's about exposing hypocrisy. In all their work Burdis and Anciano have a real flare for truly realistic characters, dialogue and situations while still bringing in some fresh air. #2. The plot is great and you don't see what's coming in the end. It unfolds beautifully I think. B&A also use the same group of actors in their work which gives their stuff an edge I think. You feel like you're sitting around with a group of friends. Make more films you guys!!!!

Annette O'Toole SHINES in this movie!
If you love Annette, you'll love this movie. She is awesome in it. If you don't love her, it is still a great movie. If you've ever secretely dreamed of getting revenge, then dream on. I love it when she makes him.... ah "wet himself". I laughed till I cried. Oh by the way, she later married the creep in real life.
This is one of Annette's better movies.

FANTASTIC Courtroom Drama
This was the film that real life husband & wife Annette O'Toole (Smallville) & Michael McKean (Laverne & Shirley) met on! This movie is about a school teacher who finds out that her gay brother was murdered, and then the killer is wrongfully set free...b/c one of the best lawyers in the country (played by McKean) shows that his client is innocent. Annette O'Toole is so furious, that she decides to make the lawyer (McKean) suffer..by kidnapping him..taking him up to a secluded cabin...and torturing him!!! Is this final justice? NO! More happens! I'm not going to ruin the movie, but I wish I could! This is a movie with lots of twists and turns, and is truly enjoyable.

The Firm - Body Sculpt
Released in DVD by Good Times Home Vide (15 April, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)

Awesome!
This is a great exercise video. Jen takes you through a challenging workout that slims and scuplts all the right parts of the lower and upper body. It can be intnese but she does recommend that if weights are too heavy for any portion to lighten them or use none at all and follow the modiifed versions with Libby. I love the leg press and the stretches in this video. They have slimmed my legs and have helped me to drop 4 dress sizes in one month and a half. The Firm gaurantees visible results in 10 workouts and i have it.

What a workout!
This is by far one of the hardest of the new FIRM workouts. Jennifer Carmen takes you through the lower body work, which is really tough, and then upper body work. You can do them on different days or together. The lower body segment is the best. It beats the FIRMs older Lower Body Split because it's just as effective but shorter and just so much better. You'll really shape your lower body with this one!

They're All Good
I love the whole Firm system. You really will see results with consistency. This DVD will not bore you. ...

Great cardio workout!
I was so pleased with the secoond BSS from the FIRM. You'll really like this workout. it's got awesome cardio moves and music that are sure to get your heart rate going and burn calories! It includes a great standing leg tune that will tone your thighs! I also love the ab work. Allie is a supurrrb instructor, too.

It all begins with a warm up on the fanny lifter, followed by intense aerobics like kickboxing, step, climbing the 14" tall Fanny Lifter. The new Firm Sculpting Stick is used, both for light four limb aerobics and stability. Following the aerobics is a standing leg tune using the stick for resistance (hamstring curls, hyperestensions, and abductions). Cool down before hitting the floor for a very tough set of abdominals and plank work that will really shape your core! The stretch is relaxing and long enough to make you feel purrrrfect!

Best series ever made!!!
I have watch them over and over again and now i want to own every season, because I think that this is the funniest and most hillariuos comedy ever, I even laugh at the revieves

worth the wait
I'm a huge fan of "Friends" and am thrilled to pieces to see these released. My boyfriend is a will-watch-it-if-nothing-else-is-on fan, but we've loved watching these. There's something about the lack of commercial breaks that makes it possible to completely lose eight hours to watching these. It's good stuff.

There aren't as many commentaries as I'd have liked, but they're all insightful and interesting.

Christian Leffler
Great movie. Also, check Christian Leffler out in 'Drinking Games' - another great indie film.

My Favorite Independant Adventure
I am in this film. My name is Christian Leffler, I play Neil(NIHIL). Brent Florence, the writer/director of this film, originally titled SOLID ONES, understands storytelling, casting, and actors so well that the film works on multiple levels. For young filmakers it's a testament to the independent process. Shot on Hi-definition video and then processed to look like film it is a stepping stone in independant film making. Florence and his crew were brave in their journey and it shows through the film. The comentary is going to enlighten you to the fun we had and the technical follies as well. It's a fun ride for, literally everyone, that I hope you will enjoy and share with your friends. Keep your mind open and keep supporting smaller films as these films will challenge you, taking risks the studios ar too afraid to take.

The Great Texas Dynamite Chase

Claudia Jennings Lives!
If anyone out there besides me watched "Thelma and Louise" and wondered why they had to drive off that stupid cliff at the end, and how exactly that denoted a "happy" and "satisfying" ending, you're gonna love this movie. Funny enough, "the Great Texas Dynamite Chase" got it just right about 15 or so years earlier.

Yes, yes - the title is quite ridiculous, but do not (I repeat, DO NOT) let this scare you away. Women robbing banks with nothing but dynamite? Genius. It's filled with the kind of... female empowerment that was strangely only tolerated in the context of a cheapie exploitation film. It's loaded with what I've dubbed "Charlie's Angels" feminism -- that is to say, the women may appear to be tantalizing packages, but try to unwrap them on anything less than their terms and KA-POW! Duck and cover baby! Besides, in this day of sexual taboos, it's pleasantly refreshing to see a movie that treats sex as fun and inconsequential. (Ahhh, those were the days, eh?) Plus, it stars underrated drive-in superstar Claudia Jennings, who gives a typically fever-pitched, ballsy performance despite suffering a back injury midway through filming.

It's high time this film was re-released after long being unavailable. Hey, Corman - how about following suit with "Unholy Rollers"?

Claudia Jennings should be remembered.
Claudia was so hot and had real star power. Most might remember her as the agent who wanted to sign Greg Brady as "johnny bravo". She was up for the role of Kate Jacksons replacement on Charlies Angels (the real one, not that lame movie). With this film you see how she might have become a real star but sadly she was killed before her time.

Gremlins - Special Edition/Gremlins 2

The Best Movie and Sequel Ever!! (Ever ever ever ever !!)
I LOVE THE GREMLINS!! How can anybody not love them. The original Gremlins was greatly awesome, a work of art, I could go on and on. I rented the first one and loved it, but I was afraid the sequel wopuld be crappy because the first one was so awesome and also because most sequels just can't live up to the original. Well, let me tell you the sequel was just as great as the original. Some of my lame dorky babyish friends actually get nightmares from the Gremlins, but they are also scared of the dark. The Gremlins 1 and 2 are just both so different and practically conceptless that they fascinate my kind of people. Every time I have a sleepover we watch the Gremlins. It's just so....... different. YOU MUST BUY THIS MOVIE!! YOU MUST!!

Spielbergs Gremlins
The director that brought us many great movies such as Jaws to Saving Private Ryan. Gremlins isn't a movie with these potentials but when seeing it you can laugh and love the story of this small town being corrupted. In the sequel to the first Gremlins you get an amazing story as you got with the first taking place in the city that never sleeps. If you love movies The Gremlins dvd are movies to see and seeng how a director can give you action and comedy in a story such as this.

Herbert Von Karajan - His Legacy for Home Video: New Year's Concert 1984
Released in DVD by Sony Classics (25 April, 2000)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Herbert Von Karajan
Average review score:

If you like Bach . . . You'll love this!
I found this DVD a delightful treat, and it has become one of my favorites. First and foremost, I am a fan of J.S. Bach, and Herbert Von Karajan. One of the bonus's here is watching the performance of Sophie Ann Mutter with this legendary conductor and the Berlin Philharmonic - in her mid-twenties. Another bonus is watching Mastro Karajan not only in his usual conducting role, but also playing the harpsichord in both pieces. Even though I have never heard the compliment of full orchestra in a Bach concerto before, I don't think Mr. Bach would have minded, and I considered it an exciting departure. The Magnificat was exceptional and if you have some good sub-woofers, you'll pick up the low 50hz organ notes that accompany this piece.

The video was excellent as with most of the Sony productions, and the audio was stupendous. This was a live performance and it is about as Deutsche as it can get. Here we have a German conductor, a German violinist, conducting and playing with a German Orchestra for Germans.

Shameless indulgence
Although this is about as far from an authentic Bach performance as you can get (the performance notes acknowledge this), it is impossible not to like the performance here, especially the Magnificat. File this performance as a big, late Karajan, symphonic Bach performance, and pick up Gardner's version when it comes out as an antidote. The only bad thing about the DVD is the hopelessly pompous performance notes. Highly recommended.

Heroes of Iwo Jima
Released in DVD by A & E Home Video (30 October, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Lauren Lexton
The flag-raising atop Mt. Suribachi during the epic World War II battle of Iwo Jima is the focus of this stirring documentary narrated by actor and ex-Marine Gene Hackman. James Bradley, son of one of the flag-raisers and author of the best selling Flags of Our Fathers, relates many of the stories surrounding the men who fought at Iwo Jima, and retired Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal, who snapped the classic photograph, also offers his battlefield recollections. Family members of the men who raised the flag on Iwo Jima speaking movingly of the men and what prompted them to enlist in the Marine Corps. The rumors that Rosenthal faked the photograph are debunked, and the enormous symbolism of the Marines raising the flag and what it meant to America after four years of horrific combat is intelligently discussed in this look at how a single moment in American history has assumed legendary significance. --Robert J. McNamara

Heroes of Iwo Jima
This movie is wonderful, intense, and emotional.
I had read the book "Flags of Our Fathers" and felt James Bradley had done a exceptional job with keeping the un-educated reader interested in the true element of war. I then decided to purchase this movie, so I could have the faces with the history. For many who may not understand the couragious acts of these men, Gene Hackman, keeps the natoration, easy to follow, and with the utt-most repect. I can appreciate the actual footage, along with the veterans stories of that give a honest, tearful, and emotional journey into the past. A must have, for any History collector. Even one, which the school room should make part of their history agendas. Harsh but reality.

Image that will last forever...
This extraordinary documentary reviews the two famous flagraisings on Iwo Jima in context with the heroic deeds of the United States Marines in their struggle to capture the island in February and March, 1945.

Producers were extremely fortunate that the Marines signal corps filmed the invasion of Iwo Jima in color, leaving a wealth of footage to edit with interviews conducted at the turn of the century, as well as, key interviews filmed in the 1980s.

One important feature that places this documentary above many that are aired on cable television are snapshot/photo inserts. During the narration, interviews, battle scenes, etc., the filmmaker inserts recognizable photos of the key historic personalities (flagraisers) as they're being discussed and/or quoted.

Viewers who have read James Bradley's bestseller, "Flags of Our Fathers," have the opportunity to see a couple of comments by author's father, filmed in 1985. Of course, Joe Rosenthal who snapped the famous flagraising, actually the second of what was two famous flagraisings that occurred atop Mt. Suribachi during the fifth day of the battle.

Highly recommended for any and all documentary and World War II DVD collections.
