cute, well written, just like the books..........
Eloise is absolutely Brilliant!Let me tell you, this sweet, funny movie made my daughter giggle, even through her body aches and upset tummy.
This movie is a brilliant, absolutely fabulous. The casting was wonderful. Julie Andrews as a totally different kind of Nanny is funny and warm. Sophia V, the girl who plays Eloise, is hilarious and extremely talented. The Plaza in the 50s comes to life through the colorful, elegant sets.
Get this movie. It is adorable and fun.
I loved this movie!

Home Alone 1 and 2 *****
A classic Christmas trilogy!HOME ALONE--this is the first classic. This is the film that started it all! In HOME ALONE, an eight-year-old misunderstood kid named Kevin (Macualay Culkin) is left behind at home by accident when his large family leaves on a Christmas vacation to visit some relatives in Paris, France. Then, just as Kevin starts to think being home by himself is so cool, he comes across two dumbwitted crooks named Harry and Marv who are after all the rich and big-looking houses in Kevin's neighborhood to steal all their valuables! Kevin wants the two crooks locked up in jail where they belong, so he sets up all kinds of boobytraps to capture Harry and Marv on Christmas Eve when the two crooks plan to robb Kevin's house! This movie is very hilarious. It never gets boring. I give this part in the trilogy *****[5 stars]
HOME ALONE 2: LOST IN NEW YORK--a lot of people find the first one to be the best in this trilogy, but I actually enjoyed this second one more! It's bigger on the laughs and has more of a crazy, complex plot. Anyway, it's a year later after that incident last Christmas at the MacCallister household. It's Christmas again, and this year, the MacCallister's are planning a trip to Florida. On the day of their flight, they get all nervous because of what happened last time. But they end making sure Kevin is with them. While at the airport (running to catch the plane - again!), Kevin gets separated from his family after getting distracted. He sees someone that looks like his father and runs after home, only this man isn't his father and he's getting on a plane to New York City! Of course, Kevin doesn't know that until after he's there. When he gets to New York City and discovers he got on the wrong plane, he decides to make this seem like his own vacation - and uses all his father's credit cards and cash money (he was holding his father's bag at the airport) to get into this fancy hotel. Life's a ball for Kevin until he comes across Harry and Marv again who escaped jail and now are after a big fancy expensive toy store in New York. Kevin overhears this plot and decides to stop the two crooks once and for all, using a whole new set of boobytraps and schemes. I give HOME ALONE 2 **********[10 stars] because it's the best one!
HOME ALONE 3--I was kind of disappointed with this one, but it is still pretty good. This one is about another young boy named Alex (Alex D. Linz), who is left home alone with the chicken pox. This time, four crooks (including a female) break into his house and it is up to Alex to stop them with the famous boobytraps. I give this one ****[4 stars] because it was okay, but not great or specatular.
All in all, if you love these HOME ALONE movies, then you have to get this DVD collection! All three movies have great acting by the entire casts, good solid funny scripts, and cool special effects. In my own personal opinion, HOME ALONE 2 is the best. But everyone has their own personal favorite! So buy this DVD box set today and you won't regret it!
A collection of all-time classics await your eyes and ears!I started watching the first while I was in grade school. I used to be a dummy and think that the violent parts were as funny as they can be. But the humor had died down as time went by. And the second film wasn't as funny, though it had more violence! (And speaking of the second film, I had seen it on one of my most memorable (and yet very outdated) times in my life: my 8th grade trip to Washington D. C. (Boy, I wish I got saved back then, being a Christian.) And that movie will remind me of Washington D. C. every time I see it. I didn't see the third until late 1997. It wasn't about Christmas or Mr. Culkin, but still good.
I watched these films an uncountable number of times when I was in High School. They are good any time of the year.
Each film has its own score. I find the first and second the most magnificent, and a Christmas essential. But the third is still good, though still wintry. (And it had Dean Martin's "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.) I find "Somewhere In My Memory" the main highlight, with inspiring lyrics, sentimental background, and those magnificent bells at the end make you picture snow on the ground and those trees and houses decorated with lights. I wonder what I'll come up with when listening to Christian Christmas music this holiday season. I'll let you know.
Overall, you should at least give these films a try. And if little kids see this, make sure they don't do the same stuff Culkin and Linz does in these films. (It's all fake anyway!)
Until then, Godspeed!

Classic if there ever was one!
more classic "Lucy" moments"The Gossip" - Lucy and Ethel make a wager with Ricky and Fred about who is the biggest gossip. The wager culminates with the nervous young milkman becoming a part of one of Lucy's kooky capers!
"Pioneer Women" - Lucy and Ethel want to buy a dishwasher, but the boys won't have it. They decide to live as they would in the early 1900's (no electricity, baking your own food, etc) and see who will crack first. Lucy and Ethel love the period clothing, but how on earth will they get through a giant loaf of rye-bread?!!!
"The Marriage License" - To her horror, Lucy discovers on her marriage certificate that Ricky's last name was misspelled as 'Bacardi'. This prompts her to think that her marriage to Ricky was illegal, so she decides to marry him all over again, starting with the proposal!
"The Kleptomaniac" - Lucy is busy gathering and organising items for a big charity auction, but Ricky thinks that she has turned into a thieving criminal!
Starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley. The DVD includes restored elements, bonus footage, an episode of the "My Favorite Husband" radio show, flubs and guest-cast information. (Single-sided, single-layer disc).
4 More Great Episodes With The Queen of Comedy: Lucille BallEpisode 24: "The Gossip" (March 24, 1952). In this classic "battle of the sexes" episode, Ricky is unhappy with Lucy's incessant need to gossip. To share some vital information with Ethel without speaking, Lucy improvises with charades. Then, claiming that men gossip just as much as women, Lucy & Ethel are challenged by Ricky & Fred to a bet to see who can keep from gossiping the longest with hilarious results. Viewers may recognize the guest actor playing the milkman, Bob Jellison, who returned periodically in Seasons 4 & 5 to play Bobby the bellboy.
Episode 25: "Pioneer Women" (March 31, 1952). This classic "battle of the sexes" episode is often remembered for the giant loaf of bread that attacks Lucy. The premise of the episode involves a $50 bet to see how long Ricky & Fred or Lucy & Ethel can go without using most modern conveniences while Lucy & Ethel are trying to gain acceptance into a posh women's club.
Episode 26: "The Marriage License" (April 7, 1952). After cleaning out their desk, Lucy becomes concerned that her marriage license with Ricky isn't valid; so she insists that the two travel back to the same Connecticut town where they were first married to renew their vows. Viewers will probably recognize a guest appearance by Elizabeth Patterson, who later played Little Ricky's frequent baby-sitter Mrs. Trumble starting in Season Two.
Episode 27: "The Kleptomaniac" (April 14, 1952). In this funny episode, Lucy doesn't want Ricky to know that she's raising money for the women's club that she & Ethel are in by managing an auction. Ricky comes across a large sum of cash in Lucy's purse, as well as her stash of items to be auctioned, and mistakenly concludes that Lucy's a kleptomaniac. Ricky enlists the help of a psychiatrist, played by guest actor Joseph Kearns, who is best remembered for his portrayal of "Mr. Wilson" in the TV sitcom "Dennis the Menace" (1959-1963).
If you are debating whether to purchase any of the episodes on DVD, you won't be disappointed if you are a long-time fan of "I Love Lucy". As with the previous six volumes released so far, picture quality of the episodes is superb; and being able to watch the episodes uninterrupted and uncut is fantastic. I rate these 4 episodes with 5 out of 5 stars.

FINALLY!!
Well, damn... it's about time!!!Just THINKING about Jim doing Vanilla Ice or Damon as Homey has me laughing already!
get ready to laugh all over the place...in living colorrun home and watch it, no matter what. the comedy
was so in your face and original. To me , it was
king. I've told all my friends who have fond memories
of this parody show and they can't wait to buy it.
... and you should too! -- cause homey don't play that!

Unique characters, fine acting and good story. I liked it.Seymour's troubled world is shattered when his mother is murdered. That's when everything seems to spin out of control. The story pulled me in and kept me there because I wanted to see how it would all play out. Marisa Tomei plays a small role as a tough detective. And Annabella Sciorra plays the murderer's mother. It's a fine cast and they all do a good job.
I liked the film. It's tight, moves fast, and introduces some unique and interesting characters. And John Leguisamo shines in a difficult role. Recommended.
Spectacular!

So Powerful, So WonderfulAnna Dunlap (Keaton) is a newly divorced woman with an adorable six year old daughter. They have a wonderful relationship, and it is very evident when you sit down and watch them together. Enter Liam Neeson. He starts out as a person with whom you would not want to get to know, but after a few minutes, he reveals that he's just in a bad mood and he is actually quite nice. When he first meets Molly (the very adorable Asia Vieira), she is very shy towards him, but she learns to like him and you can see that there is a bond between them. When something happens (I don't want to say what), and Molly's father wants full-time custody of her, the movie becomes a full-blown drama. It is, I admit, hard to watch some of the courtroom scenes, but they are so powerful and they draw you into the story. In a way, I saw the end result coming, but not exactly like it did. It definitely showed finality in the family.
Keaton's performace, like I said above, was incredibly powerful and she does a wonderful job portraying Molly's mother. The main reason I bought this movie was because of Diane Keaton, since she is my favorite actress and this movie shows her in her best dramatic role, in my opinion. If only it had received higher reviews when it came out. But I go by what looks good to me, and to me, this looked good, mainly because of the cast and the story.
Simply a must-see
tenderness

Well DoneThe power and dynamics of this piece highlight the capabilities of a good system. Properly reproduced, the horn sections are sweeping and the lower register strings and percussion are tightly focused.

The indian spirit
The picture tries too hard to strike a deadpan vein of dark humor and too often lets itself get lost in unnecessary details and side alleys, but the world of adobe buildings and dusty streets is like a film noir by Sergio Leone, full of blood-red sunsets and humid nights. Roberts always strikes the right balance of determination, desperation, and futility, never really winning but, like the cockroach, managing to survive underfoot. --Sean Axmaker

Great contemporary film noir - Roberts can still actRoberts plays a down on his luck alcoholic American would-be writer, stuck in a dirt-poor Mexican town. When given the chance of making some quick money to "do a favor" for the local crime boss, his life begins a wild downwards spiral.
Despite the subject matter, this film is far from depressing - it's more like a black comedy film noir. Too bad no one ever saw it, otherwise Roberts would be back making Oscar-caliber films instead of toiling in B movies and in sitcoms. The entire cast is teriffic, and the director does a stellar job on a miniscule budget. Buy this film and enjoy it, and tell someone else about it. It's that good!
One of the best films that nobody's ever seen!Roberts is perfect as Walter Poole, a down on his luck would-be writer languishing in an alcoholic haze in Mexico, who, by a series of chance circumstances, finds a strange new purpose to his life. Unlike some recent indies, this film never substitutes mood for substance. The story is well written, the characters are memorable, and the direction and production are near perfect. The DVD is also visually teriffic, although I agree with previous reviewers that it should have been released in wide-screen.
If you like original, engaging movies that aren't like all the rest, then grab this one. Now if Eric Roberts would just keep making them like this, he'll be nominated for another Academy Award someday!
