The Love Bug (Special Edition)
Released in DVD by Walt Disney Home Entertainment (20 May, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: Robert Stevenson
Starring: Dean Jones and Michele Lee
This savvy Disney hit from 1969 made a star of a Volkswagen precisely when the car was becoming more popular than ever. Dean Jones and Michele Lee head the cast in a story about a VW bug with a mind of its own. Disney point man Robert Stevenson, director of The Absent-Minded Professor, Mary Poppins, and lots of other Disney live-action hits, makes the slapstick work perfectly and keeps the laughs coming. Buddy Hackett is very funny in a supporting role. --Tom Keogh

A real family classic!
Jim Douglas (played by Dean Jones) is a broken-down, has been racecar driver. But, when he finds himself saddled with an innocuous little Volkswagen Beetle, he suddenly finds that he can get a lot more out of it than anyone thought possible. Jim's kooky friend Tennessee Steinmetz (Buddy Hackett) keeps trying to tell him that this car is special, it has a heart and feelings, but Jim knows that a car is a car, is a car, right? And now that he is winning races, his chief competitor, Richard Thorndyke (David Tomlinson), is out to get that inexplicable little car! [Color, released in 1968, with a running time of 1:47.]

This is a fantastic movie, and a real family classic! I loved this movie as a kid, and couldn't wait to introduce my children to it. As expected, they loved it, especially the scenes where Herbie seemed to swallow Thorndyke and when he "oiled" on his leg! The DVD set is excellent, containing a nice Disney cartoon short, and lots of other neat extras. My family and I all love this DVD set, and highly recommend it to you!

One of the best classic Disney movies, now on DVD!!!!!
This is one of the best Disney movies of all time. Who doesn't love the idea of a Beetle that comes to life? This movie has quite a few real-life applications, which you'll just have to watch to find out. But, it still is a great story to see in action.

The Love Bug will get you if you don't watch out
This is one of the best of the Disney live action movies from the 60s. I love the part where they drag race against the hippies in the hot rod! Ok, it may be a bit dated, but it's good clean fun for the entire family. The DVD has a nice clean print that looks terrific. Plus, it has tons of extras. If you are a fan of this movie, the DVD is a must buy.

#52 is a hunk
hey everyone, i'm glad you enjoyed the movie, we worked long and hard at it that summer of 94, but it was soo much fun... i'm now 19 years old and i really don't look like i did when i was 10 but i still like talkin about it, and i'll never forget the kids i worked with to make this movie great!

I could not wait for the dvd
I rented this movie for my 6 year old son -wow! I guess I enjoyed it just like he did. I had wanted to by the vhs a while ago but something kept telling me to wait a little and that the dvd would come sooner or later. Well, here it is! This is a great movie for kids but beware- you might get hooked- don't say I did't tell you. Get it now!

little giants
I was trying to introduce my grandson Tayte (who is 4) to new movies besides Barney and Bob the Builder so when he would come to my office 1 day a week we would go to the library and I would sneek a differant movie in for him to watch. We would rent 5 for the week for him to take home. I rented Little Giants and much to my delight he loved it, he felt sad for the kids that weren't picked for the team and loved the parts where they came back and won with just sheer determination. We now rent it every other week for him. He is even starting to try new ones. It's the kind of movie that every age level can identify with.

The Man from Snowy River
Released in DVD by Fox Home Entertainme (28 May, 2002)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: George Miller
Starring: Tom Burlinson and Kirk Douglas
A conventional boy-and-his-horse story set against the red rocks of remote Australian mountains. (If there's a wide-screen edition, grab it. The scenery is one of the movie's strongest features.) Tom Burlinson is Jim Craig, a young man left stranded after his father's death who is struggling to save the family farm. He proves his manhood during a hair-raising hunt over the wooded slopes in search of an escaped stallion. The great, grizzled, Australian character actor Jack Thompson (the idealistic lawyer in Breaker Morant) is the tough, older horseman who takes the lad under his wing. The director, George Miller (not to be confused with the action-master who made the Mad Max films) allows costar Kirk Douglas to mug and grimace and prance far too much in a duel role as a pair of lovable old coots who hate each other's guts. Luckily, one of the coots has a handsome daughter (Sigrid Thornton, an Elizabeth McGovern-type with grit), who also has a way with horses. So it isn't all rocks and pine trees. --David Chute

Want to Run With the Brumbies?
Man from Snowy River, like most cowboy movies, is best seen on a huge-screen movie theater, but, if you donÕt have that, get the DVD and it can even pass the tiny-screen test of a laptop. It is a beautiful Australian movie that runs with the brumbies through each story line of a young manÕs and womanÕs rite of passage, the stale feud between brothers, petty coworker battles, a mine showing color and horses running and snorting everywhere. So saddle up with some popcorn and ride this movie into its vistas of green, mountains, fog and snow to a nice musical score. You will need the mountain horse that Spur gives you and a really cool dog to cross Snowy River. Hold on when you see how a real riders rides down the mountain.

Australian Stockwhip action!!
Wonderful film! Beautifully shot and very lyrical in it's pacing. One of my favorites.

The Man from Snowy River : way more than a horse opera
The Man from Snowy River is one of the ten best movies ever made. Sure it has great cinematography, fantastic scenery and a GREAT cast but this motion picture is true literature. It's based on a poem by A.B.Patterson (perhaps Mr Patterson, a character in the movie). The story is about a young woman who's father plans to sell her to the highest bidder. The hero's initials are J.C. (look familiar) who comes DOWN to the low country (Earth) to free the young woman (the church) from Old Regret which is "The sins of the fathers being visited upon the generations". He chases down the horses which symbolize merciless FATE. He doesn't swing the heroine up into the saddle at the end but goes to prepare her mansion, promising to return. This is one of the best examples of biblical allegory ever. The Snow in Snowy River refers to something Isaiah promised. Another great thing about this movie is that Jim Craig is considered a hero not because he can kill but because he can WORK. DO NOT miss this movie.

Toy Story
Released in DVD by Walt Disney Home Video (20 March, 2001)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: John Lasseter
Starring: Tom Hanks and Tim Allen
There is greatness in film that can be discussed, dissected, and talked about late into the night. Then there is genius that is right in front of our faces--we smile at the spell it puts us into and are refreshed, and nary a word needs to be spoken. This kind of entertainment is what they used to call "movie magic," and there is loads of it in this irresistible computer animation feature. Just a picture of these bright toys on the cover of Toy Story looks intriguing, reawakening the kid in us. Filmmaker John Lasseter's shorts (namely Knickknack and Tin Toy, which can be found on the Pixar video Tiny Toy Stories) illustrate not only a technical brilliance but also a great sense of humor--one in which the pun is always intended. Lasseter thinks of himself as a storyteller first and an animator second, much like another film innovator, Walt Disney.

Lasseter's story is universal and magical: what do toys do when they're not played with? Cowboy Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Andy's favorite bedroom toy, tries to calm the other toys (some original, some classic) during a wrenching time of year--the birthday party, when newer toys may replace them. Sure enough, Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) is the new toy that takes over the throne. Buzz has a crucial flaw, though--he believes he's the real Buzz Lightyear, not a toy. Bright and cheerful, Toy Story is much more than a 90-minute commercial for the inevitable bonanza of Woody and Buzz toys. Lasseter further scores with perfect voice casting, including Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head and Wallace Shawn as a meek dinosaur. The director-animator won a special Oscar for "the development and inspired application of techniques that have made possible the first feature-length computer-animated film." In other words, the movie is great. --Doug Thomas

A Real Classic.
This is the first of the Pixar films, and it remains the best. The movie is full of lovable characters, and full of wonderful lessons about friendship and trust that will delight all ages. Of all the computer-animated movies that have come out since this classic, this is with out a doubt the best.

Disney at Their Best
When my kids were younger, I used to go with them to the movies they wanted to see. I sat through a number of mediocre cartoon movies but, occassionally, I got to see a movie that we all really enjoyed. Tops in that category is "Toy Story". This movie is the ideal family movie because it can be enjoyed by every age group. Younger children seem to enjoy anything as long as it's a cartoon. Older children can pick up on the jealosies and competition. Adults will pick up on the subtle banter between the characters. Everyone will enjoy the humor and there's plenty of excitement and suspense as well. The art work is very good but the best part are the actors whose voices we hear. Robin Williams in "Alladin" sets a pretty high mark but the sum total of the quality of all the voice characterizations in "Toy Story" is probably a team record. From the beginning to the end the movie is entertaining. Thanks to Randy Newman, it even has good music as well. This is not a movie to rent, it is a movie to own.

Why is this movie so good?
I've always wondered why "Toy Story" was such a good movie. I mean, Come on! It's a Disney move! How often, do we see well-written and intelligent Disney movies? Yes, there was "The Lion King," "Beauty and the Beast" and few others, but the rest? Good family movies, but not really an intellectual thrill or something end up thinking abou later. So one day, I was watching thew movie for like the millionth time and I saw it! During the credits, I saw the name "Joss Whedon" next to "Screenplay Writer." Yes, I'm talking about THE Academy and Emmy-nominated writer, Joss Whedon! For the people reading this, who have no idea who Whedon is, he's the creator and some-time writer of the outstanding and just plain amazing televsion series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," (Check out the DVDs, Seasons 1-4 are available now) Now I know why "Toy Story" is so good! Whedon is an amazing writer. He makes EVERY character three dimensional and BELIEVEABLE, not like the personality-defiecent characters we usually see. No wonder, he got an Oscar nomination for this. Buy this now!

Far From Home - The Adventures Of Yellow Dog
Released in DVD by Fox Home Entertainme (11 March, 2003)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Phillip Borsos
Starring: Mimi Rogers, Bruce Davison, and Jesse Bradford
A boy (Jesse Bradford) and his yellow Labrador are marooned on a wilderness island in British Columbia and must find their way home through uncharted forests. This is a story about friendship and personal strength, focusing on the relationship between a boy and his dog as they battle the elements, the terrain and, of course, wild animals in their effort to find their way home and survive their harsh surroundings. Director Philip Borsos has a nice eye for those Ansel Adams-like moments--but scenery only carries a movie so far and this movie asks too much. Though relatively short at 81 minutes, it still feels long. --Marshall Fine
Average review score:

Good Family Movie
Our family really enjoys this movie. The story is not terribly predictable and the actors all do a solid job. Beautiful scenery and enough action to keep the little ones engaged. Should be on DVD. We'll add it to our collection.

Great for young and old
I bought this for my son when he was five years old. I wanted to purchase something that was not a cartoon, but would still fit into his age group. He still watches it at ten years old, and we now have his younger brother joining in. I haven't found anyone who doesn't enjoy this video. His great grandmother even enjoyed it. It is a video good for both young and old alike.

A great movie that desperately needs to get more noticed
A teenage boy named Angus (Jesse Bradford) gets lost after he and his dad were involved in a major boat crash during a storm at sea. Now it's up to Angus to survive in the vast woodlands with sea all around him, but fortunately, he is keen on survival skills. But that's not all. Not only does Angus have two GREAT parents (Mimi Rogers and Bruce Davison) who refuse to give up on searching for him, he has a new pet dog, Yellow, that stays alongside him and helps tremendously by providing courage and companionship.

"Far From Home - The Adventures of Yellow Dog" is a GREAT movie. Many critics scorched the film by saying that it's predictable and a little cliched. Maybe it is, but so what!?! It's a great family drama that the whole family can sit and watch together time and time again and it's one movie that never gets old.

I don't know about everybody else, but I think "Far From Home - The Adventures of Yellow Dog" is an all-around great movie in every way. Mimi Rogers and Bruce Davison do a spectacular job of acting as great parents would in that situation, Yellow (Dakotah) is a smart dog that has a likable charm, and everybody else in the film does a good job of acting. Just as great is the film itself. There are parts full of suspense, feel-good sequences, and yes, you guessed it, parts that are tear jerkers. Not to mention that a perfect musical score is also included to give "Far From Home - The Adventures of Yellow Dog" an even higher boost.

I've always been a huge fan of almost any kind of drama movie, and the ones about survival are one of my favorite genres of drama. If you want a great family drama to add to your collection, if you're a dog lover, or if you like great survival or drama films in general, do yourself, your family, or whoever a huge favor and purchase "Far From Home - The Adventures of Yellow Dog" today! You will NOT regret it! I hope they make a DVD version of this movie one day.

The Miracle Maker - The Story of Jesus
Released in DVD by Family Home Entertainment (20 February, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Directors: Stanislav Sokolov and Derek W. Hayes
This animated feature-length life of Jesus boasts a stellar pedigree. Originally a BBC: Wales production, it showcases the voices of some of Britain's finest actors in any medium: Ralph Fiennes as a brooding and humble Jesus, Miranda Richardson as Mary Magdalene, Richard E. Grant as John the Baptist, and David Thewlis as Judas. The lovely, flute-heavy score is by Oscar winner Anne Dudley (The Full Monty). And clearly a lot of expense has gone into the Claymation-like animation. But while it's hard to find fault with the rendering of this familiar story--it's respectful and definitely done, you might say, by the Book--it would have been nice if there had been a tad more joy, if it walked a bit lighter in its sandals. As it is, all the characters seem consistently subdued, whether they're expressing angst, rage, terror, or bliss--none of which is helped by the figures' blank-eyed stares (if animators are becoming ever more sophisticated, why can't they get rid of those creepy Charlie McCarthy gazes once and for all?). Still, the weight of having such formidable actors play these familiar roles lends the production a certain credibility, and parents looking for good religious videos that won't insult their kids' intelligence will be thrilled. --Anne Hurley

Best telling of the story I've seen
Of all the Jesus movies that are broadcast around Easter time, this one has topped them all. The portrayal of Jesus is wonderfully human, in notable contrast to the stilted performances I've seen before that were all "Son of God" but no "Son of Man."

This movie is simple enough for young children, but will definitely keep the attention of adults. People familiar with the Bible will especially appreciate the attention to detail (for example, the 12 stones on the breastplate worn by the high priest; see Exodus 28:15-20). Also, the makers of this film did not allow the tedious requirements of this type of animation to limit the physical expression of the characters. At one point, Jesus looks positively exasperated when someone calls to him to test him with a question.

I think this film appeals to any Christian denomination, and maybe also to non-Christians who are looking for some life in the story of Jesus. This is a fantastic, no-frills, "just Jesus" interpretation.

There May Be No Better Movie of the Greatest Story
I have seen a LOT of movies based on the gospels, and was not expecting to be so touched by one that was done with puppets. There's something about the animations, vocal performances, music, and selections that makes the characters, including our Lord, seem more like real people than in other versions. I don't understand it; but it's remarkable. My kids loved it, too. This is the movie version of the gospel that I sent to all my nieces and nephews.

Wonderful animation and retelling of the life of Jesus
I bought this film after seeing the end of it on ABC one Easter Sunday. I must say it is one of my favorite films and brings me to tears on many occasion. The animation is superb, blending claymation and drawn animation to tell a wonderful story. I also liked the portrayal of the characters with tanned skin, although the British accents were funny and off putting at times, especially their casting of Peter as an Irishman always about to blow his top. Yet, I loved the complexity of the characters, especially Judas and the way they set the story in the historical and political situation of the times. It tries to portray some of the possible motivations for people following Jesus or rejecting him, reasons that are political, spiritual and sometimes class based. This brings the Bible to life for young people as well as old. I'd recommend it to anyone.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Special Edition)
Released in DVD by Walt Disney Home Video (20 May, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: Richard Fleischer
Starring: Kirk Douglas and James Mason
The swashbuckler genre bumped into science fiction in 1954 for one of Hollywood's great entertainments. The Jules Verne story of adventure under the sea was Walt Disney's magnificent debut into live-action films. A professor (Paul Lukas) seeks the truth about a legendary sea monster in the years just after the Civil War. When his ship is sunk, he, his aide (Peter Lorre), and a harpoon master (Kirk Douglas) survive to discover that the monster is actually a metal submarine run by Captain Nemo (James Mason). Along with the rollicking adventure, it's fun to see the future technology that Verne dreamed up in his novel, including diving equipment and sea farming. The film's physical prowess is anchored by the Nautilus, an impressive full-scale gothic submarine complete with red carpet and pipe organ. In the era of big sets, 20,000 Leagues set a precedent for films shot on the water and deservedly won Oscars for art direction and special effects. Lost in the inventiveness of the film and great set pieces including a giant squid attack are two great performances. Mason is the perfect Nemo, taut and private, clothed in dark fabric that counters the Technicolor dreamboat that is the beaming red-and-white-stripe-shirted Kirk Douglas as the heroic Ned Land. The film works as peerless family adventure nearly half a century later. --Doug Thomas

Finally 20,000 Leagues Under THe Sea is on DVD
I just got my copy of this great DVD. And I love it so much. I always had been a huge fan of the movie. I really liked the fact that Disney Vault Disneyized this feature. And included exclusive interviews and specail features.

Here Is a Brief Description:

A Doctor and his Secreatery take a sea voyage when there boat is sunk by a mysterious monster from the deep, they also meet the Hansome , And muscular Kirk Douglas. Well they go on a small voyage and they find a platform of a ship. Well they climb down it and they find themselves in the ship of Captain Nemo (James Mason) the Nautilus which they later find out is the same ship that sunk their boat and many others. They have lots of adventures which inculde a Squid Attack and a lot of other neat stuff.

Great Movie. 5 Star Rating.

Voyage of the Nautilus
Kirk Douglas and James Mason explore the mysteries of the deep in the Sci-Fi classic "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". Rumours of a sea monster that attacks ships, has open the interests of a curious French scientist (Paul Lukas), his faithful aide (Peter Lorre) and an able harpoonist (Kirk Douglas). Upon a striking encounter, they learn that the "sea monster" is a powerful under-water vessel under the command of the vengeful Captain Nemo (James Mason). "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" is a remarkable adaptation of Jules Verne's stunning adventure tale. The film features a powerful story, great under-water photography and a rich music score. Kirk Douglas, Paul Lukas and Peter Lorre are well cast but it's James Mason's intense performance of Captain Nemo that often drives the whole film. It also contains some impressive visuals and thrilling momments including a gripping battle against a giant squid.

Disney gives "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" the full "2-Disc special edition" treatment. The movie is presented in it's original theatrical widescreen format. The DVD contains an amazing video transfer and clear digital sound quality. Disc 2 features exclusive bonus material including Behind-the-scene featurettes, Theatrical trailer, picture gallery and audio commentaries. Like previous Disney DVD, the disc also contains forced commercials and trailers of upcoming Disney releases. Overall, it scores an "A".

Ever After - A Cinderella Story
Released in DVD by Fox Home Entertainme (13 January, 2004)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Andy Tennant
Starring: Drew Barrymore, Anjelica Huston, and Dougray Scott
Take away the Fairy Godmother, and what have you got left from the Cinderella fable? The story of a girl for whom a bad stroke of luck is no match for her internal strength and purity of heart. Drew Barrymore plays Cinderella's alleged inspiration, Danielle, in this romantic drama that purports to tell the "facts" behind the Grimm brothers' story. One of three daughters of a man (Jeroen Krabbé) who dies and leaves her fate in the hands of a conniving stepmother (Anjelica Huston), Danielle is cast into the lowly role of a servant. Meanwhile, her sisters are evaluated as possible mates for a French prince (Dougray Scott), but he's far more intrigued with Danielle's intelligence and beauty--not to mention her way with a sword and fist. Directed by Andy Tennant (who directed Barrymore in TV's The Amy Fisher Story), Ever After has that rare ability to win the heart and mind of a viewer simply by being committed to its own innocence, particularly where Barrymore's luminous performance is concerned. A contemporary take on an old, virtually forgotten Hollywood convention--the costume adventure with middling artistic ambition but real audience appeal--Ever After is a surprisingly delightful film. --Tom Keogh

Great family movie
I just discovery this movie and came to tell the world about this wonderful movie that my whole family jut enjoyed. To my surprise this would the 764th review of this movie, so i guess a few people have discovered it already.

Beautifully photographed and acted, the script takes a old story and presents it in a manner that lets the story live anew.

The 4 stars is because I save my 5 star grades for something extra, extra special, unique and brilliant such as The Lion King and the Princess Bride.

10 stars!!
I absolutely LOVE this movie. I have honestly watched it at least 10 times. It's one of the sweetest stories ever made, a great adaption of the Cinderella story.

Danielle de Barbourac, after the death of her father, grows up as a servant girl under her stepmother and two stepsisters (one of which is not so bad). She is a girl with a strong will and a stronger throwing arm, as she flings apples at the runaway prince as he speeds away on her family's horse. He is thrown off the animal by her strikes...Danielle realizes its the prince, and so the story truly begins.

Prince Henry dreads having an arranged marriage to the Princess of Spain and has ran away many times. He is in many respects, still a young boy. After this episode, the King informs him that he will have until the masked ball to choose his own wife, or else the arrangement with Spain holds.

Henry sees Danielle again as she dresses up like a courtier to save one of the servants that her stepmother has sold into slavery. She looks familiar, but Henry can't recall. He is intrigued by this spitfire of a girl and Danielle leaves him with the name Countess Nicole de Lancre.

The romance evolves through several forbidden "dates" with Leonardo da Vinci as the "fairy godfather". Meanwhile, Baroness de Ghent (the stepmother) and Marguerite (evil stepsister) has had their eyes on the Prince ever since they received news that he will be able to choose his own bride.

I will not ruin the climax of the movie as it is the best part of the film. But needless to say, they lived happily ever after. It's a wonderfully enchanting film and Drew Barrymore couldn't be more perfect for the role. This movie also has many great quotes full of wit, humor, and love. It will touch your heart and I couldn't recommend this film more. It's a must-see and a must-buy!

The score by George Fenton is also powerful, touching, and magical. I recommend the soundtrack for all lovers of the movie as well as classical music.

~Tell Me a Fable~
This is a wonderful version of the Cinderella story. Drew Barrymore plays the role of Danielle (Cinderella), Dougray Scott plays the Prince Henry, and Angelica Huston plays the wicked stepmother Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent. The cast couldn't have been better! Especially Angelica who adds more "evil" to her character with the lifts of her eyebrows (trust me, it makes all the difference :] )

Instead of the original mice, her fellow servants are her friends, and Leonardo de Vinci is her "fairy godmother".

Her gown was gorgeous and the location was awesome. The accents were a bit bumpy, but everything else was great!

The fable was told differently in this movie and Andy Tennant did a good job directing the film. It's an awesome movie! Watch it and see for yourself!

A Charmer!
As much as I like Disney's animated movies it is really nice and a refreshing change to watch a Disney movie that isn't a cartoon and I think that Pollyanna is one of Disney's best live action movies, ranking right up there with The Parent Trap, That Darn Cat and several others. Pollyanna is a sweet and charming story about a cheerful young girl who goes to live with her aunt, an unhappy woman who has forgotten what it's like to be young and optimistic and Pollyanna spreads her joy throughout the town even befriending the town grouch played by Agnes Moorehead but soon Pollyanna will need some cheering herself during a time of tragedy. I recommend this movie it's a real charmer. When I first saw this movie I liked it but thought it was a bit long so younger kids might get a little restless but older kids who can sit through a movie that is longer than 80 minutes should like it and also adults. I recommend this movie to ages 5 and older.

A Beautiful Movie that Will Touch Your Heart!
This movie is a very touching movie about a young girl who shines light on everyone around her. Pollyanna (Hayley Mills) is an orphan who comes to live with her aunt Polly Harrington (Jane Wyman). But her aunt is too concerned with other matters than with her little niece. Her aunt doesn't notice that Pollyanna goes around, playing the "Glad Game", and brightening up everyone around her, including the old town snob (Agnes Moorehead). Only until she has a bad accident does she realize how many people she's touched! I would highly reccomend this movie!!!

This Movie Brings Back Such Fond Memories
I remember for Christmas one year My Parents got me the following DISNEY MOVIES.

One And Only Genuine Origional Family Band
Follow Me Boys!
BON VOYAGE!
Pollyanna

And I love all of them but my ultimate top favorite was Pollyanna I got the same edition as pictured above the Old white clamshell release with A Little Mickey Mouse at the Top. Well My Favorite Seen was when Pollyanna (Haley Mills) and Jimmy Bean (Kevin "Moochie" Corcoran) went to Mr. Pendergast and Jimmy was trying to climb the tree. My Favorite Actoress in this classic Disney film though was Jane Wyman as Aunt Polly. I also liked Richard Egan as Dr. Chilton. But one of the best roles other than Aunt Polly, and Pollyanna was played by Nancy Olson (SMITH!, Absent Minded Professor, Snowball Express) as Nancy. I still remember sitting by the television set. With the Video case in my hand watching in awe. At this classic Disney Film. This movie has never gone out of circulation with Disney. It is one of the few that hasn't. Those films are what started me collecting Disney. I still have those 4. And I have alot more of the old white clamshell releases of The Old Disney Films. Well Disney did a great thing when they put this classic film on Disney. I know that there has been a debate that They shouldn't have had Haley Mills sing America The Beautiful. But why don't people grow up. She did a great job and she put feeling into it. She wasn't one of those stuped singers that sings it without meaning. She sang it with meaning. This Is A Movie To Remember. If the had a 10 star rating on here. I would give it 10 stars. Other Tha Follow Me Boys! This Is the best Disney Film ever created.

A Goofy Movie
Released in DVD by Walt Disney Home Video (20 June, 2000)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: Kevin Lima
Starring: Bill Farmer and Jason Marsden
Even as Disney has reveled in the success of its high-end animated features, it occasionally sneaks a lesser effort into theaters, based on one of the many TV shows with which it dominates daytime TV. This one is based on perennial Disney favorite Goofy's adventures in domesticated bliss. Goofy is now a single dad; when son Max gets blamed for a prank gone wrong at school, Goofy blames himself and decides that, for his vacation, he's going to get away with Max alone. Of course, this is no treat for Max, who has just met the girl of his dreams and harbors no wish to spend the summer touring America with his square dad. The vacation is one disaster after another, though they aren't particularly funny disasters; the culmination involves Goofy's efforts to get Max backstage at a big rock concert. Strictly for young fans of the TV show. --Marshall Fine

I know, I know! I had stated on the IMDb my comments about having a so-so feeling about this movie! I know all that! (blush) But there is a HUGE REASON why I give this DVD a full FIVE STAR rating! A WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL reason for we longtime Goofy lovers everywhere!

CALLING ALL GOOFY FANS FROM YEARS GONE BY! This DVD has as an added bonus feature the COMPLETE Walt Disney Presents episode "A GOOFY SUCCESS STORY"!!! Complete with Walt himself introducing it and EVERYTHING! It's just as charming as you remember it, and it makes this DVD a MUST OWN FOR GOOFY FANS EVERYWHERE! Even if you wouldn't dare touch "A Goofy Movie" with a ten-foot cattle prod, get it just for THIS! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Who's your favorite possum?
I don't think anyone should feel embarrassed admitting that they like this movie- it's great! Yes, I did first see it when I was in...middle school, I think, but it is SUCH a classic! Very funny- very cool, and- it's goofy! It even has cool music! (powerline...! :) )
I've since graduated, and now I work in a kids-care center and see this movie ATLEAST three times a week, and I still love it! In fact, if it's my decision what movie gets put in, 9 times out of 10 this is what I'll choose!

Did not expect this!
This movie kicked serious booty! It may not seem as good as it looks- but to me it was worth my while. Great character design, great animation, great storyline and very real in the way each generation is bizarrely different! I never liked goofy until i saw this movie. Max, Goofy's son, was clearly my favorite. Some of the road trip stops made me fall over laughing, and the climax/ outcomes of the movie were very unpredictable! I actually enjoyed the characters in the movie! Kids, teens and adults will like this movie. I liked it, and being a teenager myself, I don't feel embarrassed to comment the movie- I watched it when I was little, and now i watched it recently- honestly not expecting much- but i liked it! I enjoyed it so much I gave it 5 stars. The songs are slightly out of whack but I liked it all in all. Try it out!
