Beautiful and Easy to Follow

What Everyone With a Roof Over Their Head Needs To Know

This is some good advice!
Worwood begins with the mixing of oils. The video sleeve contains a guide to which oils work for specific desired results (for instance, lemon oil is good for the body and soul, for use as a sedative, and for increasing concentration), and she mixes a few concoctions to illustrate. She then moves on to first aid, healing cuts and burns, stimulating aching feet, and helping a young child fall asleep. Next is aromatherapy in beauty regimes. The face massage is soothing, and she claims it will help release tension, increase circulation, improve texture, and revitalize the face. Scents in baths and showers follow, and then the section on stress, tension, and self-massage. The self-massage is demonstrated slowly enough that it's easy to follow. Who needs a masseuse? With Worwood as a guide, you can calm the aching muscles of your shoulders, neck, arm, breasts, hip, back, and bottom all by your lonesome (note: there is a bit of nudity in the demonstration). She finishes the video with environmental perfuming--scenting your living space. Warning: after viewing this video you may go overboard on purchasing the oils. But at least you and your home will be pleasingly aromatized. --Jenny Brown

Great IntroductionThere is a lot of information about self-massage that takes up a great deal of time in the video. I didn't really need to watch a woman give herself a complete body massage.
The small chart that is supposed to "give all the information you need" is small and hard to read and says very little about blends of oils.
This video is only and introduction, and it is very general.
Aromatherapy For Life. The sections of her preasentation are at the right length that they don't overload the viewer with too much information, and allow one to watch the video in increments if desired. I especially enjoyed the sections on "First Aid," "Beauty," and "Self Massage." I was not at all offended by the brief nudity in this last section of the video, as my feeling is that it is a natural fact of life (not shameful in any respect), especially in light that this is a healing arts preasentation with techniques demonstrated in a mature, sober, but yet very enjoyable format.
Being one who uses aromatherapy in every facet of life (as a spiritual discipline) and in my profession, I value a video like this very highly, and would recomend it to anyone interested in this fun and exciting art.
Informative and enjoyable

For Beginner's Only! For Professionals? Maybe - but only if you've never had any training or if you haven't read any books on the subject.
A Professional Who Appreciates A Professional Approach!I am able to watch this in the comfort of my home and have given several massages since receiving and watching it.
I'm back up to speed - thanks to you. It's a great DVD and I highly recommend it to both professionals and those just wanting to know how to give good, healthful massages - which are good for EVERYONE!!!
Dr Phil says Tell It Like It Is....Even if you're not a professional, you'll benefit and be able to give a darn good massage by knowing "the points" where clients carry their stress and know how to eliminate that stress.
Medical science shows us that there are multiple benefits to massage therapy. Everyone can and should benefit from this massage DVD.... no matter what your level of expertise.
Thanks for this DVD. I highly recommend it!

Interesting and Informative
excellent information

My mom loves her massages!I love my mom. She's done so much for me and this is just something I can do for her to make her feel better.
Sometimes, I just massage her hands, sometimes just her feet or shoulders. It isn't always an all over massage, but the few minutes I can give her and slip in a mini massage here and there is worth it. She knows I care!
This DVD showed me how to do it. It's great. Thanks for doing it in laymans language. It was well worth the money and I appreciate your prompt delivery.
Absolutely the Best Basic Massage VideoI urge you to make this small investment in your relationship and you will reap unbelievable rewards.
It's a very good production and a very good price!
Two are better than one!I use it as a refresher course from time to time, but I have clients that want to give their significant other a nice treat for their birthday or just a nice gift from time to time at home and are a little shy about getting started.
I loan them this DVD and they feel that I'm giving them a wonderful gift. So I have a couple of these on hand. This simple gift of lending brings my clients back to me time and time again.
Thank you for this DVD. It's great!

"Full of Inspiring Moments" Video Librarian-Nov/Dec 2000
Naturally Peaceful Beauty and inspiring wisdomThere are six 11 minute Day segments ending in sunsets and well themed. Starting with Faith, Courage, Hope, Commitment, Peace and ending in Love, the waves change from large California waves to lapping Hawaiian waves. If you don't like quotes try the original series: Hawaiian Dreams, Hawaiian Zen, Californian Dreams, Californian Zen. They're all wonderful and make great gifts for people- especially anyone who is hospitalized, sick, grieving or in emotional pain. It's a sure way to cheer them up and help them relax naturally.

The next set is Stress Relief Yoga for Beginners, led by Suzanne Deason. This 20-minute practice, during a sunset on the beach at Maui, will help relax your mind and muscles--especially those of the neck, shoulders, and lower back, where tension accumulates--and let stress drift away. The yoga practice includes 4 minutes of gentle stretch, a 13-minute stress-relief workout that increases circulation and flexibility, and 3 minutes of deep relaxation to leave you calmed and balanced.
The final workout is P.M. Yoga for Beginners, filmed at Death Valley and led by Patricia Walden. This 20-minute evening routine is designed to quiet the mind after the stress of the day and to help you make the transition from active to quiet. She uses a combination of a centering series, standing poses, forward bends, and restorative poses to help you ease into night. These workouts are perfect for the harried and the beginner, and you will need some props (a yoga strap, a brick, a mat, and some firm blankets).
The DVD format is ideal for a workout program--the chapter search makes it easy to skip the introduction and jump right into the body work. Or if you're short on time and just need to relax, you can move directly to the meditations. An extra feature, "Learning the Basics," has pictures of every pose with written instructions on how to do them, which is just the thing for beginners who feel befuddled when told to do a cow-face pose or gate pose. A section on props explains how to use straps, bricks, and mats in order to modify more difficult poses for less limber bodies. Finally, the interviews with Suzanne Deason, Patricia Walden, and Rodney Yee round out the DVD, making for a full program. This is the ultimate introduction to yoga; it's a workout regimen that's easy to incorporate into your daily life and fun enough to convince you to stick with it. --Jenny Brown

Not that great ...
I love Rodney
Great to use for your home yoga practice!

NOT a "complete workout"I will say that each segment on its own is quite good, and it is of course convenient that you can do a 30-minute practice at home when you are pressed for time. But, in case it isn't clear, my main complaint with this DVD is that it's billed as being four programs in one--the three short, and one long--but I don't think that there is a true "complete workout" option as advertised. Because I think the title of the DVD is very misleading (I bought the DVD because I wanted the 1.5 hour session), I gave this DVD a lower rating than I would have otherwise. Depending on your needs, however, this feature of the DVD may not be problematic for you.
