A New Day Yesterday - 25th Anniversary DVD AT LAST!!!
MEOW! Glad to see this on DVD. Pretty much the same as the VHS but with a couple of extra Videos. Good quality image and sound. If you are a Tull fan be sure and see Ian Anderson on his "Rubbing Elbows Solo Tour". My wife and I had the pleasure of seeing this show front and center I might add, in Portland Oregon September/03. 60%-Music and 40%-Comedy. What a blast! Looking forward to the Jethro Tull "Christmas CD" in October and the next Tull tour in 2004. Thanks Ian!

The 3 Tenors in Concert 1994 / William Cosel
Released in DVD by Wea/Atlantic (01 July, 1997)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: William Cosel

Hollywood Tenors
This is the big one, the greatest and most commercialized three tenors concert. For someone not farmiliar to opera, this is the one too get. it has all the brodway punch mixed with old-style opera in a fun manner which will entertain you to the core. This is one of the last times to hear the three while they were still singing standard opera reperitoire in their increasing Age.
Domingo is in fabulous voice again. To me, he is the clear best in this concert. He gets all the best reperitore and he is in good vocal condition. It is a dark silky voice, darker even then the '90 concert. At 54 he is still able to deliver a knokout version of Vesti la Giubba, which is acted and sung in a most thrilling and convincing manner. His Granada is the best it gets. He sings this song like no other, you will be thrilled as the audience goes crazy throuought the song. Once in a while you will be mystyfied at how he is able too sing so gloriously with his tounge lodged in the back of his throat, but that only adds to his mystique.
Carreras is no longer the tenor he once was, but he makes up for it in passion. His first two songs are both duds as he yells through the prayer from Le Cid and mispronounces his way through "With a Song in My heart." After the first medley, however, he seems ready for buisiness as he gives a knockout tu ca nun chiangne, (despite it being sung at fortissimo). E Lucevan Le Stelle is interesting, but not impressive. He gives a tear-jerking interpretation but his pianissimo at "Discolea dai veli" sounds like a head voice or falsetto whereas if you heard this Aria 10 years ago he would blast away at it. For carreras this concert is of interest as one of the last times he ever sings italian Opera before lightening his reperitoire. I would refer people stunned by this diminished, wobbly carreras to his new Golden years Cd which perserves his career in much better voice.
Pavorotti is in excellent voice. His reperitoire selection is a bit boring though. his Porqouoi Me Revellier is the highlight. Why he sang Ave Maria I will never understand, but whatever. His performance in the medleys in extremely lively and funny showing his full talents. Domingo picks more exciting reperitoire.
The medley is, i think, the highlight in the history of the three tenors. Every song is fresh and exilarating. Domingo in "Those were the Days" was the highlight along with Carreras's characature's in Marchiare.
The encores were amazing, with domingo once again a highlight with his hyjinx.
overall this is the concert for newcomers to the three tenors and opera, as it is a glitzy rout through opera and broadway.

The Three Tenors (Mehta) 1994
Having previously owned this DVD, I ordered three more Concerts (Live). I just purchased my first VIDEO and I felt from the beginning, I had front row seats to the most unbelievable concert I have ever seen! It was magical! All with their own style and magnificent voices was a vision to behold! From the onset, it was obvious, The conductor and all Three Tenors were not only at their best vocally, but along with the audience, you FELT the enjoyment of their singing!!This video is a 'must-have'! I was mesmerized from beginning to end!! Bravo!!!

THE best of The Three Tenor series
I love this DVD!

Performed in Los Angeles in 1994 and of course features Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. Zubin Metha conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The camera angles are well placed, the switching is done appropriately and the editing has resulted in a beautiful production.

What I liked about the overall performance was the obvious magical chemistry that seemed to bind the performers, orchestra and audience from the very beginning. Early on, the singers must have gotten the unmistakable feeling of having the audience in the palm of their hands.

On an individual basis the whole night featured one great performance after the other: each tenor got to show off his unique voice and talent. One got the distinct feeling that a competitive atmosphere started to develop as the tenors seemed to try to outdo one another with each successive piece of music. The result was nothing short of a spectacular evening of entertainment. Who won "the battle of the Tenors" is a purely subjective matter: but I have my own winner (which I'll keep to myself)

It appeared that the best time was had by the conductor Zubin Mehta: how could you not be enjoying yourself conducting a world renown orchestra and three of the worlds greatest opera singers before an enthusiastic and receptive audience. What more would it take to make one happy? Precious little I think!

All and all, a must have DVD for any opera fan. This concert will be remembered for a long time to come and deservedly so.

Dave Matthews Band - The Videos 1994-2001
Released in DVD by Bmg/Rca (21 August, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Dave Matthews Band
The music of the Dave Matthews Band may speak for itself, but there's a whole lot else to talk about on this 12-song video anthology. Of course, there are the songs themselves and their uniformly eye-catching, effects-laden videos, ranging from 1995's "What Would You Say" (title notwithstanding, there's nothing here from '94) to 2001's "The Space Between." But it's the extras that make this DVD package special. You can view Matthews's lyrics onscreen while the video plays; you can listen to the comments of the various directors, an option normally found on feature film DVDs; and there's even 15 minutes of "behind the scenes" footage of the videos in production. Add to that a menu that lists each clip's premiere date, running time, and album of origin, and The Videos: 1994-2001 is a classy, complete item both for Matthews fans and for music video aficionados in general. --Sam Graham

Amazing
Me myself, I'm not a fan of the music video. I think it is a terrible way to promote an album. This DVD has all of their videos in excellent quality and behind the scenes footage and much more. I enjoyed this, although I thought it would be a terrible buy.

A special collection for DMB fans
All of you can claim to be Dave fans. So do I. I discovered Dave when I was 12years old. I've practically grown up with Dave, so seeing these videos again for the first time in years was very special for me.

For the art critics out there, these videos are unmatched in their quality and creativity. Even if you were not a Dave fan, I would recommend this to you for aesthetic worth.

Like others have noted, I wish there had been more included in this DVD. Mainly more behind-the-scenes "makings of". Yes, there is much of that in here, but it is mostly un-narrated background camera shots and not a whole lot of explaining. The director commentary is fun and interesting, though, which sort of makes up for the behind the scenes stuff.

If you are a casual Dave fan, get this to become introduced to the history of the band. Mainly, this is the for the real fans. I'm so glad they released this.

*I Love Dave*
It is the bestest, cus ANYTHING Dave and his awesome band does just is the BEST! I love you Dave - Kim

Bush - 1994/1999 [IMPORT]
Released in DVD by MSI (13 May, 2002)

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS
I give this DVD a solid 4 stars just because it's about time that Bush put in an appearance on the DVD front. But it's the little things that kill it... I mean, keep it from being a great Bush DVD instead of a good Bush DVD. If they'd just released the complete video collection (from 1994-1999), that would have qualified as a great Bush DVD. If they'd just released the complete Bush live at Woodstock '99 show, that would have also qualified as a great Bush DVD. As it stands, I have an incomplete Bush DVD that will pacify me for now while in the back of my mind, I know I'll have to buy another DVD or 2 in the future to round out this 1994-1999 collection. They could have saved me the trouble by splitting the disc into 2 DVDs (between the videos and the live show) and/or just deleted the "special features" (which just a tease anyway - show the NY Virgin gig !!!) to make room. Well, enough quibbling, I've got to go watch this thing again since this is as good as it's going to get for now.

Attn. loyal BUSH fans
If you are a true BUSH fan, this is a DVD that you must own. The only drawback to this DVD would be that it makes you want more from them.

The music videos were terrific and the Woodstock concert was a bonus, but my favorite feature was the glimpse of BUSH behind the scenes. Truly a wonderful purchase.

Videos Include:
Everything Zen, Little Things, Comedown, Glycerine, MachineHead,Swallowed, Greedy Fly, Warm Machine, Chemicals between Us, Letting the Cables Sleep

Woodstock 1999:

Machinehead, Greedy Fly, Warm Machine, Everything Zen, Chemicals Between Us, Glycerine, Swallowed, The One I love, Little Things.

Great DVD
High quality DVD, the videos all look great, and personally I found the Woodstock footage to just be a bonus, the main draw for me was the music videos. Especially, Greedy Fly, its practically a movie in and of itself/

Pmoy 1994-Jenny Mccarthy

MPAA Rating: Unrated
Starring: Jenny McCarthy

Playboy is missing the point of DVD.
The picture is crisper, cleaner, and Jenny is gorgeous. Why the dissatisfaction?

For a number of reasons. Playboy just doesn't seem to get the point of the whole DVD concept.

Yes, the picture is much better than the video, but that's the bare minimum expectation for a DVD. What I would love to see is more bloopers, behind the scenes footage, and outtakes.

DVD's cost more than videotapes, and for the greater cost one expects more than just a slightly prettier picture. It should be packed with extras that Playboy fans had only dreamed of previously.

The Playboy company really needs to learn.

I mean WOW!
Wow! This was a great video! I especially liked the scenes when Jenny was in her graduation outfit, which didn't stay on for long, hahahhaah. I also liked the scenes in which Jenny exposed her rear in the pool sequence. When Jenny visited the Wild West, I had to splash cold water on my face to calm down! This is definetly a Playboy video to own. I mean, WOW! She was lookin hot. The dolby digital 5.1 sound mix is almost as outstanding as Jennie's body. I felt as if Jenny was undressing right infront of me, and the picture quality is superb! FULLSCREEN movies are the way to go! who wants those black bars at the top and bottom of the screen that take up forty-fifty percent of your television? If you like hot, buetiful, nude, bustful bodies, I strongly reccommend this video for "those lonely saturday nights."

jenny rules
very very very very very very impressed! i was a big jenny fan. then i bought this video and i'm even a bigger fan! you'll love it!

1994 Video Playmate Calendar
Released in DVD by Image Entertainment (21 July, 1998)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Average review score:

standard fare Video Calendar
This is your standard fare Playboy Video Calendar, with 12 Playmates getting 4-5 minutes of screentime, split between 2 video segments each.

A majority of the Playmates here haven't appeared in any other DVDs, so most of them are not well known. Anna Nicole Smith is probably the most well-known of the ladies, but I'm not much of a fan of hers.

The other blondes on this DVD are really hot, like Kimberly Donley, Barbara Moore and Tiffany Sloan (who both have also appeared on the Wet & Wild Locker Room DVD), and Ashley Allen (also seen on the Girls of Hawaiian Tropic DVD). Echo Johnson and Nicole Wood are also blondes who have decent video segments here.

The lovely Asian Playmate, Morena Corwin, makes her debut here, and she appears in many Playboy DVDs, like Blue Collar Babes DVD and Asian Exotica DVD.

We also get to see two lovely brunettes in Jennifer LeRoy and Alesha Oreskovich, who only appear on this Playboy DVD. Amanda Hope is a lovely redhead, and Stephanie Adams is a perky African-American Playmate.

It's not a great DVD, as it's much shorter in length than the newest 80+ minute 2000 and 2001 Video Calendars, but if you're looking for a good collection of beautiful women, this is a nice choice that you can't go wrong with.

Another Classic
This is another classic video calendar, a must for the calendar collector, and it features a lot of stunning playmates.

Penthouse - 1994 Play-Off/1995 Winners
Released in DVD by Image Entertainment (17 April, 2001)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Starring: Penthouse and Gina Lamarca
Average review score:

NATALIE SMITH NEEDS MORE SCENES
This DVD is fairly dated looking being only 94/95 but has Natalie Smith is in a couple of scenes so I watched it. Gina Mclara which was Pet Of The Year for 95 isn't that great Natalie Smith should have won instead of being runnerup. She has an exotic look and is from England(where i was born)and overall this DVD disappoints. There isn't enough erotic footage like the 2000 and beyond releases. I WOULD SAY GET ONLY IF YOUR A COLLECTOR

The most beautiful woman in the world
Gina is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Living proof that redheads out do blondes every time. The kind of woman any man would sell his soul for.
