Le Peeeeeeew!!!!!
Baise Moi In The Eyes Of A 13 Year Old
Two stars for the rape scene....Come on perv's out there....why buy this film if not for the "graphic" sex scenes right? Well, the rape scene was graphic, however, it failed in all other aspects miserably! This is one senseless violent act after another comitted by two rather normal looking, cheap whores! I wouldn't waste my money on this one...in fact, I returned it to the store I bought it from!
Enough said?

There are much better serials

Not what I expected but still good.

A Great film,BEWARE OF PUBLIC DOMAIN VERSIONS!
Historical Masterpiece, Terrible DVDAs others have noted the trasfer is terrible, the music is good but sound quality is terrible too. Having watched this version of Metropolis I was able to get some kind of plot out of it and even with the poor film transfer the imagry is at times stunning.
Here's my advice; if you just have to see Metropolis and do not want to pay the substantially high price of the Kino version buy this copy, but understand...and please take my word on this as I'm one of the people that made a similar decision, know that you are getting poor quality all around.
Whether this will ruin the film's experience for you has more to do with your aesthetics. Metropolis has major historical importance and watching it I could see where other favorite dystopian films liberally borrowed ideas. In the end it was acceptable for the price I paid. I would not buy this new and would cough up the extra money and get the Kino version if buying it new. I will be purchasing the latest DVD eventually just to be able to enjoy the superior quality.
5 stars for the film being wonderful 0 stars for the quality. The average would be 2.5 and although it's a great film Metropolis is gutted by this poor DVD. When reading reviews it is easy to take it personal, that a poor review of the DVD (a product) in some way says something negative towards the film on it. In this review the quality of the film is the only reason more than one star was given.
My last parting shot...
The reason I even bothered with the Mandacy product was because so many negative reviews on Amazon have been baseless or inane one line insults I have become numb to them. Take it from a usually easy to please reviewer. Stay away from this DVD.
GREAT Movie - Poor DVD!The DVD quality is poor however, as the color contrast is lacking from the color contrast from the original negatives seen on VHS releases. The trivia sections are nice, but what is missing is an audio commentary, or any existence history of the making of the film which should prove very interesting. I'm sure it won't be long before such a version comes to be.
TRIVIA: Brigitte Helm was one of James Whale's choices to play the Monster's Mate in BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN before Elsa Lanchester got the part.

Lenny live what???
Lenny Kravitz - Live
Lenny "Live" Rules! The DVD opens with a very cool remake of Earth Wind and Fire's "Shining Star" with different pictures in the DVD framing in the background. If you love the song, it will loop over and over if you let it and the song will never end and you will not be able to tell where it ends either since there are no gaps in the loop. Great thought! You will have a main menu in front of you. The selections are "Live", "Song Selection", Special Features",and "Sound". the "Live" selection will take you through parts of songs as well as Lenny backstage, on the road and in his Miami home, which is very cool! You will also get a glimpse into the music business politics he is so frustrated with after 13 years of trying to do what is right for music and not the CEOs of the record industry. Some great goofing around scenes in there as well. The "Song Selections" option lets you start the "Live" format from any point in the DVD. So if you are hooked on a certain part, you can play it when you load up the DVD. The DVD will continue to play the rest of the DVD from that point you select. The "Special Features" selection will gives you the ability to just play the live tracks in their entirety for those who just want the music. It also gives you an interview of Lenny done by Mark Seliger and an interview of Lenny's 90 year old Grandfather done by Lenny. Very cool interview too! You also have the out takes located in there. The funniest has to be "Lenny's Biggest Fan". This guy is so funny to watch on how he is getting off on the song "Are You Gonna Go My Way". It's almost like watching a Deadhead flowing to the jam. There is also "Sy's Groupies" where you get to see Lenny's Dad and some friend's chat on the tour bus. Then you have "Lenny Shaves" where he busts on the camera guy who is following him everywhere. "Hold My Calls" is a very cool out take. Someone was not able to make the concert and her friends called her on the phone. Well, Lenny got their phone, called her and then played a song for her. Some funny stuff with that whole scene too. "You've Got A Demo" is where some guy who has no clue who he is asks him for one. This area also goes into the arraigning of the songs for the 2002 World Tour. Finally in the Out Takes there is "That's Still A Young Man" where Lenny snags himself with his age as he talks about his life to his manager, who was also the manager for Jimmi Hendrix! The "Sound" selection lets you choose between stereo and surround sound. A great option in my opinion.
So Lenny and Mark gave the fans almost every option they could in the DVD. You can see behind the scenes or just listen to the whole concert. You can watch some interviews, watch your favorite song or part over and over and choose what sound you want as well. The live performances are incredible as I think Lenny has the best live shows around. There are so many other great parts and funny scenes I left out because I'm not giving it away! This is a very cool DVD! Oh, and if you think the sound is too loud, try turning down the volume on your TV. But if you think it's not loud enough, as I do, run it through your stereo and blast away! Lenny will take you deep into his funky soul and leave you charged and wanting more. I "Believe" you will watch this DVD "Again" and "Again". Let Love Rule!

4 almost a 5
Though the quality leaves at least as much to be desired as one would expect considering the price, "Yellow Rose of Texas" is above average Roy Rogers fare. Included are the classic framed man with a beautiful daughter (Dale, of course), Roy's undercover identity as insurance agent, a stunt with Trigger to save a boy in a runaway wagon, a multi-fisted fight featuring the Sons of the Pioneers (minus Pat Brady, since this is 1944), the classic shot of black "blood" dripping through two ceiling boards to give away the winged fugitive (at a rate that says he must have hit an artery and is in serious need of a transfusion!), and lots more great nostalgia inducers. One number by the Sons of the Pioneers, "Timber," is musically even better than usual. It's also interesting to see Dale Evans before that "Queen of the West" persona, which she was originally so against, was firmly established; you'll hear her sing and see her pout those pretty lips, but she won't be riding a horse. (This is partially due, of course, to the fact that much of this setting has to do with riverboats and shows rather than ranches and the frontier.) Even her hair is different than the typical "Cowgirl Dale" look that we fans take for granted.
All in all, if you want to see Roy and Dale in restored glory, don't bother with the Alpha Video releases. But if you want to see them on DVD at all, you may have to settle for these, and "Yellow Rose of Texas" is a perfect place to start.
