The Key
Released in DVD by C.A.V. Distribution (14 May, 2002)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Director: Tinto Brass

Very good erotica
Watching this film is like drinking a vintage bottle of wine. Venice is portrayed correctly in its prewar setting, with its brilliantly lit architectures, nostalgic night scenes, and magical grand canals. The women are so much more beautiful in these gorgeous locals!

real life
real life connection is what make this title so important.
some of his other titles are just training in erotica.
and real life is what we are involved in every day, right?
the other similar movie - Europe, europe - not available on DVD.

From the director of Caligula!
This is one of my favourite Tinto Brass films, the guy who made Caligula. Features the beautiful Serena Grandi. DVD is looking very good, and is in English, except a few subtitles when they speak Italian. Interesting interview with Tinto Brass as well. Better than todays erotic films.

Krishna Das - The Yoga of Chant

Like being there
Spend an evening with this DVD and you will feel as if you have spent the evening with Krishna Das and his friends and followers. The music and chanting are excellent and the warmth of the people involved provides good rapport. At the end of the disc, you will feel uplifted and relaxed.

Beautiful Chanting
The tape was very rich with meditative music-Kirtan.
It even has some footage on his Guru.
Next best thing to a live performance.
KD has a rich and powerful voice that keeps ringing in one's head.

KD's "Yoga of Chant"..the next best thing to a kirtan!
I just LOVED this video! Having been to kirtan with KD..this was the next best thing. The chants were very beautiful ones{I have all his CDs & am very familiar with all of them}-I was pleased with what was selected for the video. His speaking was also very moving and captures the "emotions" that accompany chant. The photography & editing were wonderful-they also caught the "mood" of an evening spent with this remarkable man,and his fellow musicians.Speaking of which...ALL the players were glorious. They speak to a place far beyond emotion{and description}.All the people in attendance that were viewed on the video, including the children, were ecstatic & joyous{as it is & should be,at such a gathering}.Jivamukti Yoga Center, where this video was filmed is a very pious space, which also adds to the experience. The photos & film clips of KD's beloved guru,Neem Karoli Baba are very, very moving. If you enjoy Krishna Das,chanting or BOTH-DO NOT MISS THIS VIDEO/DVD.If you never experienced either, try it anyway-it will really move you!!!While it obviously isn't an actual KD kirtan,it will tide you over till he comes to your area again.Enjoy fellow yogis & yoginis...OM SHANTI,SHANTI PEACE!!

Fitting Tribute
Great sound and nice to see a new mix of video with the old. I haven't shed a tear for John since 1980 but the Starting Over video blew me away and made me a little weepy. Great disc!

A Profoundly Moving Experience
John Lennon was, and it's no secret or surprise obviously, one of the absolute greatest artists in music history. That said, this DVD was, for a HUGE fan like myself, a profoundly moving experience.

It rocks, amuses, and saddens as it progresses. It doesn't sadden in an exploitative way, however. It saddens in a way that is very genuine.

Be warned, the "Starting Over" video, which is brand new, will break your heart like nothing in recent memory. I literally cried tears for twenty minutes.

All in all, it's very beautiful.

Best of the BET novels turned movie series
This one is by far the best of the BET novels made into movies! It has a great plot, the characters are believable as well as likeable, and the cast is top notch. From dashing Cress Williams playing the handsome Marcus/"Miles" ("Scooter" from the TV sitcom Living Single) to the beautiful Simbi Khali who plays Joi/"Sky", and of course the sexy female "playa" Monica played by Kellita Smith (of the Bernie Mac Show). This was a movie that I enjoyed watching over and over and over again! It really is a black version of "You've Got Mail", but with a "Love Jones" kinda flava to it. I especially loved the smooth and artistic "Otis" played by Leonard Roberts (recently appeared in the summer hit "Drumline"). I also have to say the chemistry between Joi and Marcus was so strong, I kept thinking to myself--this is more than just acting. Well, low and behold, I find out that they are married in real life!

If you like romantic comedies that are as much fun to watch as it is entertainig, I recommend highly recommend adding this one to your collection!

This movie is so good!
You will not regret buying this. The acting is good and the storyline is clever. I first saw this on BET and didn't even see it from the beginning and I still thought it was great. I saw it a couple more times and wanted to buy it for the longest time. As soon as I found out it was available I bought it. I still watch it over and over.

Wonderful and Cheerful Made for TV Movie
A bright romantic story about a woman who after getting beat out of a promotion by a fresh young graduate, to losing her man to a man! Has started to doubt herself. She heads back to LA where she finds romance online! But feels the need to portray herself as someone else, which causes her to lose her internet lover to her best friend. Does she have what it takes to get her man and get confidence back? You have to watch it to find out. :O) I am sure you will come to enjoy this movie.

Big mountain deep powder snowboarding and skiing...
Great soundtrack, cinematography, and some sick ski and snowboard descents. You won't be disappointed and I only hope "Red Distribution" makes more movies like it. I hate that some movies feel that they have to choose between being a "skier movie" or a "snowboarder movie." True lovers of the big mountain experience don't care...just show us these pros dropping sick chutes. Thanks Red D., you nailed this one on the head!

From a skier's point of view
I am a powder junkie so to speak skiing is life here in alaska so I was really amazed when I saw this video. This movie takes you inside what a pro skier feels before a run and after leaving you breathless. In fact when I watched this movie for the first time my heart started pounding and I could almost feel the powder blowing down the back of my neck. I think that Jeremy Nobis said it best "Your standing on top of a 67 degree slope you look down the left side and it looks like death then you look down the right side and it looks like death too but thats where the money is so count down from 4 and rock and roll".

Great ski movie!
I bought this movie for my son for his 4th birthday. He loves it and so do I. He wants to watch it all the time, which would drive me crazy if it wasn't such a great movie. The more you watch it, the better it is. It has the perfect mix of big mountain extreme skiing and new-school big air, and it has a great soundtrack! There is a little bit of snowboarding, but mostly this movie is about skiing. There is bad language in some of the music, but there's none of the violence or other inapproriate material that you find in so many movies made for kids his age. Better than Ski Movie 2, which I bought at the same time.

Out of Ireland - The Hit Songs & Artists of Irish Music (From a Whisper to a Scream)
Released in DVD by Red Distribution, In (04 November, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: U2 and Van Morrison
The history of rock & roll in Ireland is presented in suitably lively fashion in a series produced by RTÉ, Ireland's national television network. In these first three installments from the series (each an hour long), the story advances from the 1950s to the early 1980s, with archival footage providing a glimpse of what all the excitement was about. The first stirrings of rock music in Ireland took the form of "show bands," hugely popular ensembles that gave many young musicians their start. Fascinating clips of concert film chronicle the development of two artists who helped define rock in Ireland: blues guitarist Rory Gallagher and Phil Lynott, a black Dubliner who formed the hard-rocking band Thin Lizzy. The seldom-interviewed Van Morrison reminisces a bit about his own formative years and influences, Bob Geldof talks about his career in the Boomtown Rats, and Bono, the Edge, and others comment on U2's earliest stirrings. Folk bands like Planxty are seen briefly in clips, as are primal Celtic rockers Horslips and punk pioneers the Virgin Prunes. The bits of concert footage, especially scenes of guitar hero Gallagher blazing away, would alone make these programs worth watching, but interviews with Irish music writers and intelligent observers such as film director Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot) make the programs informative as well as extremely entertaining. -- Robert J. McNamara

This one is EASY!
If you are thinking about making this purchase...DO IT! You will not be disappointed. This is not a film about U2 although they are prominently featured. This is an outstanding documentary covering all facets of Irish music culminating with the status of Irish Rock circa 2000. Fantastic interviews with a reflective Van Morrison, still intense still burning Bob Geldolf, and a suprizingly humble Bono, along with several pilars of Irish music. I've learned so much about the music I love and discovered more wonderful artists to explore. I'm embarrassed to say that I had no idea who Rory Gallagher was (his name has every right to be mentioned in the same breath with Page, Hendrix, and Clapton...Guitar God? Hell Yeah!) until viewing this DVD. Now I can't get enough of his music. Thanks to Amazon.com for making so much of his catalogue as well as the other artists available. I haven't explored any special features on the DVD and don't even know if they exist at the time I'm writting this...but...who cares! This disc ROCKS! The sound and picture quality are there. Everyone I've shown this to are just stunned by what they are seeing and hearing. The only complaint is that the music clips are too short but again, it's a great way to learn more about not just Irish rock, but Rock and Roll period.
To sum it all up...crack a cold one, pop the disc in, kick back, and ENJOY!!!

A MUST FOR THE SERIOUS ROCK FAN AND STUDENT
Warning, this documentary might be disappointing to the average fan because the performance clips are painfully brief. But if you are more intererested in a deeper knowledge and understanding of Irish rock and it's place in rock..indeed in the full spectrum of Irish music, then this video should be your cup of tea.

The influence of The Beatles as well as such American rock as Chuck Berry is traced along with the influence of traditional Irish music, even that of the legendary operatic tenor, John McCormick. Most important though is the very Irish nature which flavors the music.

All music is interwoven, and the relationship between Irish rock and the dance spectacular, "Riverdance", is brought out.

Performers such as Van Morrison, Clannad (and Enya), The Cranberries, U2, and The Corrs are all highlighted, but performers lesser known or even unknown outside of Ireland are all given their due, and the credit they deserve.

If you want a comprehensive overview of Irish rock, and are NOT looking for the entertainment value of long performance clips, then this video is definitely for you.

A MUST FOR THE SERIOUS ROCK FAN AND STUDENT
One caution...the average rock fan probably would be dissatisfied with this DVD because the music clips, though numerous, are so brief.

But for the person looking for more depth and understanding, this documentary is tops. The very roots of Irish Rock & Roll are explored, including the influence of The Beatles and of Chuck Berry as well as that of traditional Irish music and even the Irish operatic tenor, John McCormick. Foremost of course is the Irish character itself which flavors Irish rock.

Irish rock's place and influence on international rock is spotlighted, as well as the genre's place in the whole spectrum of Irish music.

Performers such as Clannad (and Enya), U2, the Corrs, the Cranberries, Van Morrison are highlighted, but many other notable groups less familiar or unfamiliar to those outside of Ireland are given their dues.

There's even a relationship shown between Irish rock and "Riverdance".

If you are a serious student of rock, and seek understanding of Irish Rock's unique importance, this DVD is indeed for you.

Platinum Comedy Series - Steve Harvey - One Man

Great
This was a good show. Bravo,,,,, come back to tv please!

VERY funny!
This is the long-awaited DVD release of Harvey's HBO stand-up special from 1999, taped in Augusta, GA. It contains what may be Harvey's finest, strongest hour of material. Funny from joke one to the very end. He discusses going to church, Tiger Woods, O.J. Simpson (briefly, thank goodness), the difference between firing a white worker and firing a black worker, and how women can build themselves the perfect man. Best of all, Harvey comes across as a very decent, intelligent, compassionate person. The language is occasionally raw, but never gratuitously so.
Also included on this DVD is his 30-minute Stand-Up segment from HBO's archives, and it is also genuinely funny throughout.

comedy
it was very funny I am also looking for jamie foxx hbo special straigh from the foxx hole

Revelation 199
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (22 May, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Action Sports and Travis Pastrana
Average review score:

Good for kids
This is an exciting movie that does not contain all of the adult only stuff that most "off road" movies have. My kids love it.

The Wonder Boy lives up to his image.
Having seen Travis Pastrana actually perform live at the X-Games in Philly, I wasn't sure if his movie could live up to a live performance. Boy was I wrong. This movie is probably the best motocross video I have ever seen. Because, you don't just see him doing tricks and acting stupid, you actually see him and his life. However, the tricks that he performs are astonishing. This kid is an amazing rider. I have seen him doing freestyle tricks and racing in Las Vegas of this year. All I have to say is that if you like motocross, you have to get this or give it as a present. It's well worth it. 199 will live on forever!

Travis Pastrana- Teenage Prodigy
This video gives a great behind the helmet look in Pastrana's racing/freestyle career. It incorperates racing footage of Travis's first races back in his Loretta Lynn days, gnarley tricks, such as the recliner and the can-can, and an inside look at his family. This is a great video for avid racing fans or for the newcomers to the sport. It was put together very well with great music, awesome footage from Travis's life, and quite a few hilarious moments. I loved this video and I am sure you will too.

Finally Taj on DVD!! Awesome performance. Excellent video quality. Beautiful sound quality.

A must see for any Taj fan
I've seen taj in person more than once and I though any video would be a let down after seeing the strength of one of his live shows. I couldn't have been more wrong. This video is a must see for any Taj fan and will make fans out of people just seeing him for the first time. The Jems of the show are the two songs (Come In My Kitchen and Fishing Blues) wich he does without his band, just him and his guitar.

Timeless... A National Parks Odyssey
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (25 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Patrick O'Hearn
Average review score:

Extraordinary !
I just purchased TIMELESS photographed by David Fortney & scored by Patrick O'Hearn. This is brilliant stuff. The 45 min presentation sends the viewer into another dimension with a mesmerizing effect. Fortney does complete justice covering major National Parks within the United States & Canada. Using amazing camera techniques & time lapse photography, Fortney is able to create images never probably seen before ! I am a big fan of Patrick O'Hearn's music & in spite of some of my favourite tracks not being included, O' Hearn has done full justice to the score & the 5.1 mix which is a hidden feature in the menu section.

Amazing visuals and music
"Timeless" is a DVD by photographer David Fortney and composer Patrick O'Hearn, with stunning scenery from US National Parks coupled with O'Hearn's highly cinematic music.

I've been a fan of Patrick's music for years, and this was just what I was waiting for - a chance to hear his music coupled with visuals, a match made in heaven. I have problems finding a musician who makes more picturesque music than Patrick; Fortney clearly made the right choice when turning to him.

If you've seen the opening credits of the movie "White Sands" from 1992, a film which Patrick scored, then you know how this DVD looks like - terrific recordings of deserts, oceans, waterfalls, mountains, forests and skies put to O'Hearn's music.

The music material is taken from all but two of his solo albums; "Rivers Gonna Rise" and "Eldorado" is not featured, probably because these two albums are a bit too "poppy" to fit with the visuals. But when that is said, I wouldn't have had problems finding a track from each of those too.

There is a couple of tracks I miss, like "Devil's Lake" and "Sacrifice" from "Indigo", but you can't have all. The last track on the DVD was a surprise to me, as long as I don't have the "Ancient Dreams" album, which this track "Beauty In Darkness" is taken from. That song is another Patrick O'Hearn classic, I especially love the end with those tender piano tones which segues into those last great words from Roosevelt.

A DVD for any music lover with taste and feeling. If you like this you should check out the "Visions" DVD from Spotted Peccary Music and Enigma's "Remember The Future" DVD.

Only sit down and enjoy!!!!!!
The images and his music are really exceptional...
Is incredible how the camera can gather so many details and is capable of placing in places full of mystery.

I recommended also for Patrick O'hearn's fans music. Last track is Ancient Dream beauty version, very "So Flows...".

Congratulations also to Fortney. WHAT A GREAT TEAM!!!!!!!!
