Malibu Express
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (05 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Andy Sidaris
Average review score:

Pretty good but not great, but then what did you expect.
This wasn't a bad movie but wasn't very good either. Sybil Danning looked great and the rest of the girls were easy on the eyes but the movie as a whole just seemed to drag on.

The disc on the other hand is nice, the movie looks good and sounds good, it also has some nice special features.

Very Good and entertaining mid 80's,B-rate, T&A movie!
Movie strengths: One of the best and earliest Andy Sidaris films! Certainly entertaining, funny and well casted. Cool and realistic main character - Cody Abilene (Darby Hinton)- an Eastwood wannabe who doesn't have a prayer of shooting a moving target with his cannon of a gun. Good twisting plot (for a B-film) that at the least will keep you watching throughout the entire movie. Very cool cars (for the early 80's time period). The Buffingtons are absolutely HILARIOUS! They will make you laugh out loud with their wild, animated, simple-minded, hill-billy antics. Contessa Luchesi (Sybil Danning), June Khnockers (Lynda Weismeier), Maid Marian (Robyn Hilton), Beverly (Lori Sutton) and a host of other centerfolds make for a great 80's T&A cast. And an added bonus is that all of the eye-candy in this movie actually do reasonably decent jobs at acting their parts. Andy Sidaris throws in professional bodybuilders John Brown and Richard Brose (2 of 3 villains named Matthew, Mark, and Luke) to play the "muscle" of a computer smuggling ring. Entertaining stufff straight out of the shadows of Dukes of Hazzard lore!

Movie Weakness: Very few for a B-film! I know ol' man Sidaris would have loved to have had more than just 1 explosion.

Similar Movies: "Cannonball Run" (plus T&A), "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" (minus the singing and dancing).

Carltonz Call: Good and funny film definitely worth watching! Just be mindful that it is a non-serious B-film. Definitely worth purchasing if you are a Sidaris fan!

Action and Adventure-Malibu Style
This is a very entertaining and funny combo of action and comedy. The main guy is cool and the escapades he gets into is wild. While this is not a top notch movie,it does have a mystery like plot with a lot of action that is worth a 5 star.

Could've been better
I only got this movie because Jessica Alba was on it, just because sh is in it doesnt mean that i like it. The movie was horrible to be honest, the story is good, but the movie is boring. Maybe if they only changed the location and raise the suspense a little, then it would have been a great success.

One of The Worst Movies Ever
I'm sorry, this movie is one of the worst movie I've seen in a while. I am a big Jessica Alba fan, but that doesn't mean I'll like this movie ... I must say I'm not surprise Jessica did it, It was one of those things she started with. But hopefully Jessica won't be caught died doing another... movie like this.

soooooooooooooooooo great
I think that Dark Angel is great cause it's got fighting and Max has special vision, she's great and I love her. I never miss an episode of Dark Angel on Saturdays,I'm a real fan of Dark Angel and Jessica Alba is my favourite actress now, that I even know how tall she is. I really like the way Dark Angel is filmed and the special effects when Maticore was burnt down. I also think that sometimes it's sad like when Zack died and Ben but he got back in the sceene now as X5494 well otherwise known by Max as Alek.

A Tribe Called Quest - The Video Anthology

DVD is WEAK and TOO SHORT!!
I have to agree with the following people this DVD just doesn't cut it. Its too short and could of had some iterviews with the band. FALSE ADVERTISING!the reason i bought this DVD was to see the old "CAN I KICK IT" video and its not the orignal sound its a REMIX!I HOPE JIVE READS THIS AND ISSUES OUT A NEW DVD WITH MORE TO IT AND DON'T FORGET TO PUT THE ORIGNAL SONG TO THE VIDEO "CAN I KICK IT"!

This DVD doesn't cut it.
I love Tribe to death. They are one of the greatest hip hop acts ever. But as said before this DVD was not put together as well as it should have. It looks like the music-videos were just ripped right off a VHS master and slapped on a DVD. Perhaps, thats not the case, but that is what the quality of most the vidoes look/sound like. They definantly should've been remastered for best possible quality. Other then putting the 11 vidoes on a DVD, very little work was done on this disc. Remixes should've been included, so you could toggle them while the video is playing, like on the Beastie Boys DVD set. This would take a bit of work, but its a feasible feature. The exclusion of 2 videos (Stressed Out and Hot Sex) is not a very forgiveable move. Some other extras, bells and whistles would be nice aswell. They could probably put together a commentary track if the group ever gets back together, which now seems more likely then in the past. But even though this is a pretty bare-bones, unperfect disc, if this is you're only acces to A Tribe Called Quest vieos you should probably get it anyways. They're definantly a must see for Tribe fans. Hopefully, though sometime in the future this DVD will be made obsolete by a superior release.

Does not do justice to the Tribe's music
Jive and Zomba records did a poor job of slapping this together at the request of dedicated Tribe fans. Not only is it missing videos(Hot Sex, Stressed Out), it seems like they did the least amount of work to satisfy fans. Tribe videos are rare to see, so I am happy to have a good amount of them. But this pop-producing record label could have done a little more to make this DVD a little more fulfilling.
Where are the YO! MTV Raps segments?!

Yes - Special Edition EP
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (08 April, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Infomercial Flair Disappointing
Much of this "special edition" DVD seemed more like a commercial to sell me more stuff. While the three YES tracks were awesome, there isn't enough footage of the band members acutally playing. The rest of it wasn't really worth watching. Additionally, the design is awkward because you have to start every little thing separately ... no flow.

For Hardcore YES Fans Only...!
I just picked up the DVD featuring Yes' appearances on musikladen, entitled "Special Editions EP."

I would recommend buying this only if you're a hard-core YES fan and you can get it cheap. There's less than 20 minutes of YES stuff on there.

Inexplicably, only half of the song "All Good People" appears on the DVD. The video quality is okay - not bad, but not great either. The psychedelic visual effects get annoying after a while as well.

Also, while it is remastered in DTS sound, it's not the best DTS I've heard. Fortunately, it was only $10 at Best Buy. It does, however, have video previews of other DVDs in this series and bonus videos by Rick Wakeman (excerpt from Center of the Earth) and ELP, among others.

WARNING: This is the same as "Best of Musikladen" DVD!
The tracks on this DVD are the exact same as on the "Best of Musikladen" DVD, so you don't need both. I would choose this one instead because of the additional Rick Wakeman track from the "Journey to the Center of the Earth" DVD.

General Chaos: Uncensored Animation (Adult Animated)
Released in DVD by Ryko Distribution - Video (30 March, 1999)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Directors: Laurence Arcadias, Mr. Lawrence, Tony Nittoli, Joel Brinkerhoff, Eric Fogel, Vince Collins, Jeff Sturgis, Stefan Eling, Bill Plympton, and Walter Santucci
Here's a sampling of nouns and adjectives from the packaging: sick, twisted, sex, subversive, crazy, scatology, perverted, offensive, vulgar, bad, rude, digitally remastered... hey! How'd that get in there? If you quite like this sort of thing, you know who you are, and if you don't you'll stay away in droves (and will never know what you're missing). But for those who stay past the first blush of animated human genitalia, and the havoc wreaked thereon, there is much laughter in store. Not all the animation herein pushes the perverted envelope, but look in the hinterlands of sick and twisted for the ne plus ultra of scatology called "Deep Sympathy," and a stop-action epic called "Junky." Holding these 40 or so internationally made animated shorts together like a demented glue is a series of vignettes by celebrated animator Bill Plympton (The Tune), gathered under the rubric "Sex and Violence." Not to diminish Plympton's own not inconsiderable dementitude, but next to some of their neighbors Plympton's vignettes might be termed "cute." --Jim Gay
Average review score:

Poor animation, vulgar, disturbing, and boring
I bought this by mistake, thinking it might be "off the wall" anime... but it was not even that good. The first piece in this compendium is so poorly animated, it makes South Park look like Disney. That would not be so bad if it had meaning or plot... but it doesn't! It's just a bunch of swirling vaginas. Oh boy. Yawn... There are a few MTV skits in here that you might recognize from Liquid Television, but, on the whole, most of the pieces are amateurish, lacking either good animation, good art, or meaning. This is the only DVD I ever returned for pure disappointment with the content and it was a testimonial to its universal lack of appeal that this came as no surprise to the store that sold it, who took it back without question, against their own policy of never taking back opened DVD's. That's just how bad it was...

Sick & Twisted! I LOVED IT!
This is some great stuff if you're a little sick and twisted yourself! This is not for the easily offended and you probably won't like if if you're over the age of 30. They're all animated random bits of material like a parrot who feels guilty about just what dirty stuff he has to do to get a cracker, one about "Hungry Hungry Nipples" with an attitude who battle a Richard Nixon baseball bat and my favorite, "Deep Sympathy" about an old gravedigger who poses as a priest doing a funeral who ends up "boinking" the corpse! Cool! Great DVD for a party!

Grimshaw rules!
This video is great; especially with Grimshaw and Plymptoons. I didn't care for much about some of the other shorts, but it is funny! I would like to find more of these videos.

The Sexy 6th Sense
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (09 October, 2001)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Average review score:

Lame-o-rama...
Unlike other Surrender Cinema titles that push the very limits of soft-core with steamy footage, this mis-fire features stale "erotic" scenes that are limp. The girls never take their bottoms off and the interaction is kept to a minimum. Certainly a step down in both production values and unrated scenes, the Sexy 6th seems like a PG version of other Surrender Titles like The Erotic Witch and Girl Explores Girl. And really, isn't the sexy scenes the whole reason for purchasing these types of DVDs?

Sexy 6th Sense (2001) d: West, Terry
'...What Ghostly Pleasures Lie Beyond The 5 Senses?; ...I see dead lesbians.' Another erotic spoof from the people at Seduction Cinema. What makes this film any different than Gladiator Eroticvs (2000) or Erotic Witch Project 2 (2001). Not a whole-lot! The film is full of the same silly comedy routines, and independent film-making I have come to love, and expect from this company. Their plots are mainly direct exploitation rip-offs of Hollywood blockbusters, with LOTS of nudity. What better reason is there than that. This time around they spoof the Bruce Willis Hollywood hit The Sixth Sense (1999). "...Frances is a lonely young man cursed with the ability to experience beyond the five senses. But that curse turns to a blessing when he begins to see the spirits of sexy, succulent, uninhibited lesbians engage in erotic games of pleasure that seem all too real". Little more than a great title and tag line, perhaps they flogging a dead horse? The film is still very enjoyable and fun. And did I mention the naked lesbians.

good but not great
compared to other seduction cinema releases, this movie is pretty tame and sadly short on laughs. the premise is good, but the filmmakers didn't do enough with it. if you took out the lesbian ghost scenes, you would have almost nothing. the recent EROTIC WITCH PROJECT 2: BOOK OF SEDUCTION is proof positive that you can make a low-budget film where sex is your selling point, yet still manage to come out with a highly entertaining product with a lively script. if for no other reason, get this movie for the brief interview segment with darian caine and esmerelda delarocca on the couch. it's hilarious.

Skyscraper/To the Limit

don't buy it, even if you're a fan...
I bought it because of the obvious reasons the nude scenes, I also thought, "How bad can those movies be ?". Well people, my question has been aswered, they (both movies) are REALLY bad. Keep your money people, instead rent it and "grab" the "important" scenes with your computer...or download them from somewhere....believe me it's not worth it....
PS: If downloading the videos is illegal, just rent it once, you'll see what I mean...

This DVD is lacking in a big way.
I have always been a fan of Anna Nicole Smith but I have to admit that these two movies are awful. The only reason why I like them is because I love cheesy movies. If you don't like Anna or cheesy flicks, then don't bother with these. Let's see, now that we got that out of the way, what about the DVD itself? It has the feeling of a fly-by-night company. The DVD packaging is flimsy. There's no booklet or cover sheet inside. It's only one DVD, with one movie on each side, but the DVD itself isn't marked so that you can't even figure out which movie you're going to watch until you put it in. Extra features? Absolutely none. The only options available is 'play' and scene selection (8 chapters to choose from). The only good deal out of this is that you get two movies relatively cheap. Unfortunately, if you're not a fan of Anna, you're going to be very disappointed.

My favorite fried chicken eatin' hot mama's double feature!
Hey Pam Anderson fans! Burn that copy of Barb Wire and watch a REAL woman in action. That's right Anna Nicole Smith sizzles the screen and commands every scene she's in. An Anna DOuble feature on one DVD? I'm in heaven! Why Anna isn't making more movies is beyond me. Every red blooded American man should stand up and shout "I love Anna! She's the American man's Dream!!!" Do it now!

Her acting is as professional as Bette Davis or Audrey Hepburn could ever hope to be. The range of emotions she can display makes you aware that she was born to be an actress and show her talent to the fullest.

Long Live Anna, she makes American cinema great!

Who Wants to Be an Erotic Billionaire
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (28 May, 2002)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Starring: Remis Phildin
Average review score:

I expected better from Bacchus...
The girls weren't that sexy or talented (with the exception of the hostess), and I found it very unerotic and unenjoyable. Bacchus usually bowls me over. He missed the mark, here. Though the fake commercials were fun...

An uninspired but somewhat enjoyable spoof
Who Wants to be an Erotic Billionaire? almost surely has the smallest budget of any movie Seduction Cinema has released. In this spoof of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, you have four contestants-two girls and two guys-competing for a chance to get into the hot seat opposite host Remis Phildin. Actually, the hot seat is just a plain old chair much like the one Remis sits in as she reads the questions (which are on cheap little cards). Over to the side, you have Bambi; for each answer a contestant gets right, Bambi removes a piece of clothing. Get all nine answers correct, and you basically win Bambi (and a billion dollars, although everyone cares more about Bambi than the money). The girl contestants have no problem, fielding less than challenging questions such as "What is your favorite color?" For the guy contestants (one of whom lives with his brother "in a van down by the river"-an obviously humorous reference to Chris Farley's Matt Foley character on Saturday Night Live), it's a different story altogether, as they get incredibly obscure questions that no one on earth could figure out. Throughout the "show," Remis makes one bad joke after another, and she actually seems to be slightly embarrassed about some of the stupid lines she was given. There are also some completely silly advertisements thrown in after each contestant finishes a round, but these crude ads really aren't very funny, in my opinion.

This movie is probably a little funnier than most Seduction Cinema releases, but overall it never reaches its full potential. The actresses are OK but certainly not representatives of John Bacchus' A-list (i.e., much more attractive) performers. In the end, the good and bad basically cancel each other out, resulting in a movie that left me rather nonplussed and just a little bit disappointed.

Actually quite good! Surprisingly so!
I am NOT a big fan of Seduction Cinema's sophomoric sense of humor, but in this case they pulled it off! This video is both erotic AND funny! Basically, you're watching a pretend game show where the contestants try to strip Bambi down to nothing and then get to have sex with her. What makes it funny is that the show is rigged so that only the FEMALE contestants have a real shot at Bambi, while the guys are asked such ridiculously hard questions they can't possibly win. There are commercials included --- really stupid ones, by the way --- showing that Seduction Cinema still has a sophomoric element, but the erotic sex between the girls is NICE!!! I liked the two female contestants, and I also liked the Regis-Philbin-girl. Bambi was OK, but not as hot as the others (at least not in my opinion.) This one is definitely worth checking out!

Marvin Gaye - Behind the Legend
Released in DVD by Red Distribution, In (12 February, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Marvin Gaye
This look at the legacy of Marvin Gaye passes over the great R&B singer's childhood and Motown career in favor of his turbulent final years, including exiles in Hawaii and Europe, the making of Midnight Love, his addiction to cocaine (and resulting paranoia and depression), and his tragic murder (shot by his father during an argument). While his final public performance, a rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at 1983's NBA All-Star Game, is not included, his acceptance of a Grammy from Grace Jones and Rick James almost makes up for it, and there's plenty of other fascinating material: interviews with family members and band mates, rehearsal footage, and live versions of hits from "How Sweet It Is" to "Sexual Healing." While Behind the Legend fails to chart his path to stardom, it allows Gaye's music to do the talking--and he was never more eloquent than when at the microphone. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Jan!!! You need To Quit It
I'm a huge fan of Marvin Gaye and his music. But...i was dissapointed by the way they Try to down David Ritz..
David had did a excellent job on Marvin's biography. He had captured the very last years of his life. i continued to read this book for 18 years now, and i'm still learning from it... ..This book by Marvin and David is like music bible. it is so detailed, more i can say about this B.S. DVD!!!!

Poorly made video
I would not recommend this video to people who want to learn about Marvin Gaye. They give vague references to the events that happened throughout his life, and if I had not read his biography by David Ritz I would have not known what was going on at all. They hardly even touch on his death, and his final years. It left me wanting to hear more from his wife and children, but I guess it must be tough subject to discuss.
That said, the tape provides some rare video footage of Marvin. There is very little of Marvin on tape in the first place, so each second is precious. The live performance of Sexual Healing is something I had been eager to watch and it did not disappoint, except they kept interupting it and speaking. Also, it says on the cover of the tape "Special Bonus: Let's get it on", but at the end there was only a live performance of "Whats going on". Nothing major, but it would be nice to see him sing lets get it on.

Excuse the cliche, but this is a must have for die hard fans, but not for the casual fan.

Worth all the gold in Fort Knox.
Marvin Gaye: Behind the Legend (2000) Was excellent at the least. We got to see the softer, more vulnerable side of Marvin. We get to hear from the hearts of his own family the sort of person he actually was. We finally get to see and hear the woman that was the object of both his obsession and inspiration. We get to see where he was and what he was doing during his self-imposed exile. Finally, we got treated to 'Sexual Healing' during his last tour. The Best.

Teenage Zombies
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (22 January, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Teens make the best zombie test subjects
I can't help but get a big kick out of movies like this. The 1950s was truly a special decade in terms of moviemaking, as this is just one of many typically inane yet somehow entertaining pseudo-horror movies brought to cinematic life during that golden age. Teenage Zombies is in many ways an awful movie, with cheap sets, inconsistently bad acting, and a zany plot-yet I liked it. I got a special, unexpected treat in the form of a jaunt down memory lane. MST3K fans will recognize two faces in this movie immediately. Katherine Victor, none other than Batwoman herself from The Wild World of Batwoman, is the evil scientist working in cahoots with some foreign (certainly Communist) government to build a biological agent to unleash on the United States. Such an attack would make zombies of American citizens-leaving them healthy enough to work but incapable of resisting the demands of the conquering powers. Two teenaged couples stumble upon the secret lab accidentally and are, of course, immediately captured. One of the guys is that unforgettable (for MSTies, anyway) singing, knee-propping, reptile-fighting star of The Giant Gila Monster (Don Sullivan). He can't sing his way out of trouble this time (and, thankfully, does not even try). The diabolical scientist locks the kids up so that she can use them as test subjects for the new zombifying gas she is perfecting. Their best chance of escape is dependent on their two over-acting friends' persistence back home at convincing the sheriff to search the island for them. There is really only one decent zombie in the whole film, but you do get a bonus in the form of a guy in an ape suit. I have to admit that one major plot point caught me totally unawares, so that earns the movie a little respect in my eyes. This helps make up for the exceedingly boring fight scenes later on, but I fear nothing can undo the damage done by the intense "hamming it up" that accompanies the final scene. Teenage Zombies has almost nothing going for it, in all honesty, yet I found it quite entertaining; fans of MST3K should really get a big kick out of it.

Passable DVD package for bad-movie masochists only
Those who hail Ed Wood as the worst director of all time apparently have never endured any Jerry Warren flicks. Teenage Zombies is probably Warren's best (read least worst), most watchable movie, and probably the safest point of entry for the uninitiated (if you can't hack TZ, you'll really hate his even less accomplished works). That said, it's still probably rough going for all but seriously masochistic bad-movie fanatics. Four malt-shop kids led by whitebread would-be teen idol Don Sullivan (Giant Gila Monster, Monster of Piedras Blancas) go picnicking on a mysterious island and run afoul of crazed Dr. Myra (Katherine Victor: Mesa of Lost Women, Cape Canaveral Monsters, Wild World of Batwoman) and her brutish henchman Ivan (Chuck Niles), who are using 'poison gas' on a shabby-looking gorilla (and prisoners provided by the local sheriff) to create mindless 'zombies,' all in the service of nefarious foreign agents. The teens are captured and threatened with zombie-hood by Dr. Myra. Reg and Skip escape, leaving Julie and Pam locked in Myra's cage (!!!) while they go "look for help." Incredibly, there are a couple of genuine 'plot twists' before the action-packed (for Warren) denouement. Although the story moves at a slightly faster clip than Warren's usual funereal pace, and the camera actually moves once in a while, there are plenty of Jerry's signature badly-framed static master shots of characters droning on and on for what seems like hours, uninterrupted by reaction shots, close-ups, or editing of any kind. And the lack of budget is all up there on the screen: Dr. Myra's impoverished lab set gives Ed Wood and Dick Cunha a run for their money; the raft that Reg and Skip build to escape the island is pathetically, hysterically, un-seaworthy; Ivan the 'zombie' henchman, perhaps menacing in 1959, today just looks like your average wino; they occasionally attempt to hide the fact that most of the exteriors were shot without sync sound by having the actors face away from the camera, or by obscuring their mouths in other exotic and hilarious ways (just like in Beast of Yucca Flats); and the already meager 73-minute running time is padded with lots of footage of the teens walking around the island and cruising around in a boat. (My wife refers to these as "dancing" movies; see The Creeping Terror or Teenage Gang Debs.) Fans of poverty-stricken 1950s cheapies will probably have fun with the amateurish acting, ludicrous dialogue, awkward pacing, and overall tacky aura. Normal People who like Good Movies beware! (But if you think this is bad, try watching Warren's Creature from the Walking Dead or especially Attack of the Mayan Mummy sometime.)
Retromedia's total DVD package is pretty decent even though the 35mm source element is mildly flawed. The feature looks very good to excellent overall, with generally acceptable brightness, contrast, sharpness, and grayscale (although the shadow detail fills in a bit at times). There is the typical light speckling and blemishing, as well as some moderate lining that mars the first 10 minutes or so of the movie and recurs a handful of times throughout. In sum, far from pristine, yet quite watchable (besides, it's Jerry Warren; the scratches kind of add to the cheesy ambience). The included Teenage Zombies trailer looks fine, as good or better than the feature itself, with excellent tonal values and sharpness, and minimal speckling/blemishing. There are also brief (approx. 7 mins each) but fairly interesting recent interviews with Chuck Niles (who remembers Warren as "a nice guy" who liked to laugh a lot but wasn't particularly concerned with "details") and Katherine Victor, who seems to believe that her association with Jerry Warren movies essentially torpedoed her career. Interestingly, both recall being genuinely amazed (at the time) at how easily they got their parts in Teenage Zombies. My only real gripe with this DVD is the forced inclusion (unless you go through the chapter stops menu) at the beginning of the feature of an idiotic Drive-In Theatre featurette, hosted by Fred Olen Ray, and containing partial nudity. Nothing hardcore, but tacky and out of place in a G-rated 1950s schlock program like this. Fred, baby, leave that stuff on your Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers DVDs where it belongs.

Jerry Warren snoozer comes to DVD
Some of Jerry Warren's films are so bad, they are barely watchable. This is exactly the case for Teenage Zombies. Give credit to Retromedia for doing a good job on this release. The bonus materials are good. There are interviews with Ivan the Zombie and Dr. Myra (Katherine Victor). The rerelease trailer (Teenage Terror) is included, which is cool. Fred Olen Ray does a cool intro to the movie, although keep the kids away (nudity).

The movie transfer itself, however, is disappointing. The original used for the transfer could have been in better shape. There are some annoying vertical lines in the early part of the film. The sound is poor, but this is a problem with the original film and not the DVD. It's irritating, but then so is watching this film (blame Jerry Warren). I probably would not buy again. It would have been better if with its original doublebill, The Incredible Petrified World.
