Usher: Live - Evolution 8701

Usher's Evolution dvd: Its bangin!!!
The dvd is hot!!!it shows Usher aka Mr. Entertainment at his best. the dancing scenes are nothing short of incredible and the boy can sing!!!!!! Especially when he broke it down on the U remind me part. and dont forget that he is sooooooooooooooooo sexy!!!! the body the smile his voice eveeything about him is bangin! If u dont have the dvd go get it!! U will be glad u did:)~Angie~

He is MR. ENTERTAINMENT!
Like Mr.Raymond or not, he is definitely the KING OF HIP-POP, the one and only MR. ENTERTAINMENT. This exceptional DVD, "LIVE EVOLUTION 8701 should prove it once and for all. And if you still don't believe this after viewing it, folks, you just merely "hatin'" on this extraordinary performer. Usher is a singer, dancer, songwriter, producer, actor....an all around entertainer. From "I DON'T KNOW" to "WHAT'S GOIN' ON" (Yes, Marvin Gaye's signature piece), Usher takes care of business! He'll absolutely blow you away with "BEDTIME", "U GOT IT BAD" and "NICE & SLOW". The choregraphy as always is simply outstanding on "I CAN'T LET U GO", "JUST LIKE ME", "IF I WANT TO" and "U REMIND ME". 8701's CD track, "TWORK IT OUT" is where he invites a pretty young lady to the stage and then performs like only he can. Yes, I am a Usher fan, but I can sincerely say he has outdone himself with this piece of work. It's a lot better than his live VHS concert, but that wasn't a slouch either.......USHER, you are indeed MR. ENTERTAINMENT, Sammy Davis, Jr., Fred Astaire, Michael Jackson & Gene Kelly should be proud.

U gotta love USHER!!!
Simply an amazing dvd from an amazing artist!! Even if you don't like Usher, there's no doubting that he is an amazing perfomer...especially with his little slide step move(from the U Got it Bad video) which he does even better on this dvd! Definately the best scene is with the "JEAN JACKET"(you'll know what I'm talking about when you watch it for yourself). Overall, I am a big usher fan, and if you are too, then there is no reason why you shouldn't own this one!!!

Wing Chun: The Science of In-Fighting
Released in DVD by C.A.V. Distribution (11 March, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Woo-ping Yuen
Average review score:

One of the best Wing Chun information films made.
This is an excellent resource for students of Wing Chun. This, despite the fact that Master Wong intentionally demonstrated some things slightly wrong due to a distrust of the producer of the film. This doesn't take away from it's quality however. All of the Wing Chun principles are demonstrated and explained, and shot very well. It is a shame that the footage at the end supposedly for more advanced editions was only test footage.

But all minor niggles aside, not only is this one of the best presented Wing Chun instructional films out there - no displaying of Siu Lim Tao from all angles over and over, or specific techniques displayed without exaplanation as to how they apply to Wing Chun principles for example) - but it is also the only time the late Master Wong Shun Leung was captured on film in this way. So aside from being a great instructional film, it is worth the Wing Chun enthusiasts purchase if only to see all the film footage of Master Wong.

Oh, and the accompanying music's really groovy too! ;-)

Wong Shun Leung DVD
Video quality is above average. Felt like watching a good quality VCD. Audio is fair. This is a wing chun DVD with substance. Excellent demonstration by the Master and his students. Commentary was very good. It showed the basic principles and more importantly the application of those principles. Well structured content. Definitely a valuable resource for those training wing chun. Hope the advanced series will be out.

it works I tried it to my friend
It works! I tried to block with my right hand and left foot to my friends attack it really works he does'nt know were I learn it from. like I could sense his motion to strike I can see before hand like this is been rehearse before. great dvd than going to dojo spent time, traffic, and money.I'm practicing at my own time and place without leaving my job.gona buy part 2 if there's one Master Wong please make some part two...

Yolanda Adams Live in Concert - An Unforgettable Evening
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (11 June, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Yolanda Adams
Lordy lordy, there is some serious testifying going on here. What's more, the titles ("Let Us Worship Him," "Just a Prayer Away," "The Battle Is the Lord's"), the setting (a Washington, D.C. church), and the febrile audience response leave no doubt that Yolanda Adams is a gospel singer. But this two-hour program (including interviews that can be viewed separately) has a decidedly contemporary feel. The music has the sound of commercial R&B or smooth jazz; the influence of artists like Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway is readily apparent; there are costume changes and a light show; there's even a video (for "Gotta Have Love") that can only be described as hip-hop. That's not to say that Adams plans to go the route traveled by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and others who made the transition from the pew to the pop charts. But one thing is certain: this ain't your grandmother's church music. Glory hallelujah! --Sam Graham

An Amazing Inspiration
Yolanda Adams Live in Concert-An Unforgettable Evening deserves it's 5 stars recieved by me. This spriritual journey is the best I've seen in years. Alice Cooper - Special Edition EP
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (25 March, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Original BAND
This DVD features live performances from the original Alice Cooper BAND in a television studio. Unfortunately there is no live audience to interact with, just cameras. So that dynamic is missing. This band was good at getting a reaction from live audiences. The original band is Glen Buxton-guitar, Michael Bruce-organ-guitar-vocals, Neal Smith-20 piece drum kit, Dennis Dunaway-bass and vocals and Alice on lead vocals. This is the band that Alice rose to notoriety with. If you have the Prime Cuts video you've seen this version of 18 already although this version has the complete song in it with a dramatic organ intro from Mike Bruce at the beginning. The Under My Wheels song is a different version than the one on Prime Cuts and has Alice with the old Spider eyes make up. One can see how Alice and Bob Ezrin felt the band was limited musically, primarily because of Glen. He tended to doodle on leads. This is why on the albums Ezrin brought Rick Derringer to play on Under My Wheels and Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter on later albums. Live, Glen was left on his own until he could no longer function onstage. Glen did start to develop more and the School's Out period was his peak of musical accomplishment and Public Aninal # 9 rocks with dynamic changes and creative use of guitar feedback. After the School's Out period, Glen began to fall. The band added Mick Mashbir on guitar and Bob Dolin on keys to the live show and really advanced musically although they still kept Glen. This band was really young when they made it. Would have been nice to see how they could have matured like Aerosmith did. This appears to be all there is of the original band. The Good To See You Again Alice Cooper movie of the Billion Dollar Babies show, the largest rock and roll show and tour in the history of rock n' roll at this point was botched by the film crew. The lighting was very poor and does not give an accurate view of the band and the stage. It's too dark. An ABC In Concert performance of the School's Out show is also no where to be found except on horrible bootleg copies. This video is a history lesson if nothing else. The original band was one of the coolest bands I've ever seen. Mike, Neal, Dennis were always unique and capable musicians who really knew how to put James Bond type theme music into rock n' roll and within a certain range Glen was good. No drummer can play Halo Of Flies or Billion Dollar Babies like Neal Smith. When Alice performs the old songs with new musicians, it always seems so sterile and antiseptic, something is missing for me. Alice should do a reunion album and tour with Mike, Neal, Dennis, maybe Mick Mashbir or other good guitar player and a keyboard player and Bob Ezrin. Public Animal # 9 rocks the best on this DVD. It kicks.

Public Animal #9 :-)
This EP is Pre-Welcome to My Nightmare Alice. It features the original band. I thought it was great to see this rarely seen performance. The quality of the product is very good.
A great addition to any Alice Cooper hard core fan's library.

Public Animal #9 performed by Glen Buxton - great pictures
the performance of Public Animal #9 includes great pictures from Glen Buxton on stage in good condition, so this DVD is worth to by just for that song.

I'am Eighteen and Under my wheels (the other two songs on this EP DVD-Version)are also great, but not as good as Public Animal #9.
The sound and picture quality is very, very good!
All three songs were recorded live without overdubbs, so what you get is an authentic document from the early days of the best Rock Band ever.

This DVD is a must-buy for every fan of the original Alice Cooper Band! You will enjoy it!

Andre Rieu - Live from Dublin

Total Family Delight
The only word for this performance is MAGNIFICENT!

Truly wonderful
I've got all of Andre Rieu's DVDs and this is one of the most enjoyable. Truly a magnificent feast for the ears and eyes.

I particularly enjoyed the scenes of the enthusiastic audience. I liked the music choices better in the Albert Hall DVD but the crowd and atmosphere of this one more than made up for the difference. I highly recommend it.

A perfectly wonderful evening
This is one performance that needs more than five stars to be properly rated. One hint: we played it on someone else's sound system where the base was turned up all the way, and the treble turned down. In order to get the full effect of the beautiful voices and instruments, including the haunting tin whistle, you need treble. Notice the sparkling jewelry and gorgeous low-cut dresses the women are wearing, instead of the usual somber black. It's an exhilarating concert made even more enjoyable by the response of the audience in Dublin. You'll wish you were there.

Nicely done!
I bought this DVD based off a recommendation by another. I found songs in it to be very moving.

As a person who is thankful for freedom, I am grateful for those in the military - and for their families at home. After listening to this DVD I am going to throw a military family party. Provide food, provide kleenex and let them realize and understand just how many people appreciate their sacrifices.

An absolutely great DVD

Awesome
Wow! Very inspiring! Beautifully put together! Words can't begin to express how awesome this DVD is! Buy it!

You'll watch/listen to this over and over and over
Incredibly inspiring music and commentary. It seems that at the end of each song that the next can't possibly be as moving but it is. Buy it, turn up the sound, blink away the tears now and then and share it with your friends (you'll definitely want to).

Boys Over Flowers: Declaration of War!
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (09 September, 2003)
MPAA Rating:
Although she comes from a middle-class family, Tsukushi Makino is a sophomore at Eitoku Academy, an elite school for children of the rich and materialistic. The student body is dominated by the F4 or "Flower Four," the richest boys in the school. Tsukushi is smitten with one of the quartet: Rui, a languid violinist who's alternately kind and aloof. But she attracts the attention of Tsukasa, the leader of the clique. One minute, Tsukasa and his friends are cruelly harassing Tsukushi; the next, they're rescuing her because she's willing to stand up to them. The story suffers from serious gaps (how Tsukushi got into Eitoku is never explained) and a major disconnect from reality. In "No Brand Girl," Tsukasa kidnaps Tsukushi, takes her to his house--and has her given a ¥420,000 ($3,600) make-over. Maybe it's believable in Japan. (Rated 13 and older: brief nudity, minor profanity, violence) --Charles Solomon

Addictive Anime
Finally, a break for the usual whiney, silly girl, magical situations, mecha loaded anime that is out there. Hana Yori Dango or Boys over Flowers is a school setting drama about a young girl trying to fit in yet remain true to herself at any cost. The series will hook you in by the first episode.

Based on a hugely popular Manga in Japan, and most of Asia, HYD follows the adventure of Tsukushi Makino, a poor girl from the wrong side of the track who enters the Elite School of Eitoku. Her one wish is to pass the two years she has left in high school quietly and unnoticed. If that happened, this series would only be only an ova. Eitoku is a miniature society ruled by the intimidation of the most powerful sons of Japan, Sojirou Nishikado, Akira Mimakasa, Rui Hanazawa and their volatile leader Tsukasa Domyouji. Collectively they call themselves the F4 or the Flowery Four. Lame name for really tough guys. (Looking beyond that, you see that it's a metaphor for the story. Tsukushi's name is a horsetail weed in Japan. Therefore she is a weed among flowers) Within 10 minutes in the anime, Tsukushi brings herself to the attention of the F4 by standing up to them while they bully her friend. Unable to standby and watch as the rich and powerful flaunt their wealth and mock those of lower status, Tsukushi insults the F4 infront of the student body. Only after she has opened her mouth and finished her insults, the realization of what she had done sinks in, and the battle begins.

The anime is a softer palette of color than most shoujo anime. Opting for more earth toned, the colors fit for the mood of the story. This is not a bubble gum romance. The characters are presented in a realistic setting facing problems of fitting in and dealing with peers and hazing. The story line varies from funny to serious and the colors seem to go with the themes.

The music tends to go towards the melodramatic. I simply turn down the volume at times. The music theme reminds me of 1950 sitcoms. The music does help enhance certain moods quite successfully. On a whole, the music is not very memorable. It's the story lines that makes this Anime move along. After one episode ends, you can't wait to see what will happen next. (Sound familiar soap opera addicts?)

As in most anime that is based on manga, a lot of information is lost and holes in the storyline is obvious. How does a girl like Tsukushi get into such a rich school like Eitoku? In Japan, one has to take a test to enter most high school. In the Manga, Tsukushi scored high enough to gain entrance into the school and her parents make sacrifices to pay for her tuition. This goes to show that Tsukushi has a high intelligence. Why does Tsukasa become obsessed with Tsukushi, you'll understand when you meet his sister Tsubaki. Why do the other F3 help her while Tsukasa continues to harrass her...they're more mature than him. Why should you watch this? For one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride it will give you unlike any other Anime out there.

An Incredible Series Perfect For Both Girls And Guys
This series outsold every other comic in Japan, its popularity based on strength of characters and storytelling. The story was not only turned into this animated series, but also a live action movie, animated stand alone movie, and even a wildly popular Chinese-language tv series (Meteor Garden).

Boys Over Flowers has a strong female lead character, humorous lead male, and a story to melt the heart of any romantic. It should be noted that the animation is somewhat flat when compared to contemporary flashier shows and the color scheme relies heavily on a yellow and brown palette. In addition, it isn't an action show, it doesn't have the syrupy sweetness and silly but dumb female leads of Marmalade Boy or Fruits Basket, and although there is quite a bit of humor, it is not a comedy.

Fans of the show are consistently attracted to the more 'reality' oriented feel of the gripping storyline (i.e., no one turns into zodiac animals, there's no magic, the leads don't have mecha hidden in their basement, and the characters don't find themselves in utterly improbably situations). Definitely not boring, Boys Over Flowers can really be addictive.

What the series does best is tell a great story that hooks you the first time you see it. The most common anime romance stereotypes are flipped around and you easily find yourself both laughing and crying with the characters. Best of all, this anime is something for both female and a male viewers to enjoy together.

This shojou does not disappoint!
Knowing precious little about this series, I jumped into it based on a friend's recommendation. And what an outstanding series it is. I was immediately hooked. We have a completely satisfying story based on one the more impressionable characters I have seen as of late. The orchestral based music is absolutely sweet and gorgeous, befitting the style and mood of this series. This shojou is right up there in the ranks of Marmalade Boy, Kodomo No Omocha, Kare Kano, Fruits Basket, KOR in depth of story telling, character and plot development. with well written scripts. Very highly recommended!

Sad
I met Dave Williams back in April of 2002. And I just have to say, he was one of the nicest people that ever lived. He wasn't the person that would give you his auto graph and leave. He'd do that and stay and talk to you for about 10 minutes. And I have to admit, when he died, honestly, I cried. He was very young, talented, like I said Polite as hell to you, and The profits of this dvd are going to Dave's parents to buy a house in which was his life long dream. And if you ever listened to Drowning Pool's music, Dave never cursed but managed to keep the metal aggression alive in dp's music. Thats why Dave was the most unique beings and I pray to God some one like him will walk the Face of the Earth again. And for those of you that met him or watched the DVD will know what I'm talking about.

DAVE WILLIAMS 1972-2002

tragic
aight here is how i see it. dp is one of the best original bands i have heard in a long tyme. in fact i had only heard three songs before he had died. now they are like my favorite band. i think that dave (the lead singer)is up in heaven right now screaming into that big mic in the sky along side kurt, jimi, Mr. morrison, and miss joplin. now there would be a band. any way i just wanted to say that this is a great dvd and that it should be bought if you like heavy music. RiP dave and jam on. PEACE

Amazing look at a fallen star
This Dvd is mindblowing and tragic. Dave Williams was a true gentleman and represented all that was and is great about the heavy metal community. The man was awesome and generally was loved by all. This Dvd has over 2 1/2 hours of rare footage and tributes from P.O.D, Ill nino, and Dimebag of Pantera! The bootleg footage is great with a hellraising performance of Shout At the devil! You can't go wrong with this disc plus Windup is donating some of the profits to purchase Dave's mom a home it was Dave's Life long dream.

Evil Cult

MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)

THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME
This is a low budget bloody as hell comedy! (Don't worry...it's supposed to be funny.) If you're smart, then you'll check this one out.

I see potential here.
For a strait to dvd cheap horror flick, i was impressed. I could tell that much care went into making this film. There are campy moments here and there, but this movie has great build up and it totaly delivers in the end. No slap stick humor or very many jokes yet still very funny. If ya like good indie flicks, its worth checkn' out.

Evil Cult Rocks!
Evil Cult is my new favorite in the horror genre. It has a smart and sympathetic lead charcter in Neil Stryker. The movie has some really memorable lines (I won't give them away). It doesn't take itself too seriously, and has a good yet understated sense of humor. You'll see good acting, GREAT special effects (especially the time portal), suspense, time travel, a mad scientist, horror, bloody bits, and an evil cult. What more could you want from a movie?!

excellent dvd
Well alot of people say this might be a waste if you hav seen them in concert already. I don't care. I have seen them once live in the 6 or 7 years i have been into them so a live concert is always a treat. Good performances by both ICP and ABK. Good trailer for the new backyard wrestling game as well. You get songs from all 6 jokers cards and other albums of course. some songs in case you are not aware of are:

Tilt a whirl, dead body man,Let's go all the way, murder rap, chicken huntin, birthday b*ches,F' the world, and many others. over 30 songs in all including the abk set. so get this, even if you aren't a juggalo you'll get into this.

Bootlegged In Your DVD Player
This DVD is way worth the money. It should, however, not take the place of seeing them live. On this DVD, you get tons of old and new ICP songs and a small set from the one and only hatchet warrior, ABK. Some of the highlights include The Chicken Huntin Slaughter House mix, Thy Staleness, Let's Go All the Way and a Fresh A$$ intro that features the music from the Wizards Palace from J's solo Wizard of the Hood disc. Also, stay tuned after Juggalo Anthem for a 2 minute (aprox.) trailer for the Backyard Wrestling video game. Well, most Juggalos and ICP fans probably have this already, but if for some strange reason you dont have this yet, then go out and scoop it up. I swear you'll love it. Also, mark your calenders for 12-09-03 for Psychopathics from Outer Space II! It's gonna be off the hook just like this DVD! Peace!

THE NEXT BEST THING TO BEING THERE!!!
I FIRST SAW ICP LIVE BACK IN 1998 AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A LIVE VIDEO EVER SINCE. THE ONLY THING MISSING WAS THE FAYGO BEING DUMPPED ON MY HEAD. YOU GET OVER 20 JUGGALO CLASSICS INCLUDING A LOT OF MUSIC FROM THE 6TH. THE SET IS AWSOME AND THE SOUND IS PERFECT. THE PICTURE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER BUT IT IS A "BOOTLEG" TAPE. ABK IS GREAT TOO. IF YOU GOT THE FREE LIVE DVD WIT THE WRAITH THIS IS 17 TIMES BETTER. AND MAKE SURE YOU CHEK OUT THE SUPRISE AT THE END ITS WORTH BUYING THIS DVD ALONE.
