I'VE BEEN A CLARK FAN FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND I TRY TO FOLLOW THIER SUCCES ALL THE TIME. THEIR MINISTRY HAS BEEN A GREAT INSPIRATION TO MY LIFE AND AN ENCOURAGEMENT IN MY WALK WITH CHRIST!!!!!! KAREN;DORINDA;TWINKIE;and DENISE ALL ARE ONE AND A MILLION IN MY BOOK!!!!! LOVE DAVID:)

What a blessing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This dvd has an awesome anointing on it!! I was extremely blessed by her words, singing and energy. Pressed down, shaken together and overflowing!!!!!!!! That's what I'm talking about!

Dorinda Clark-Cole: Anointed Vessel of God!
I enjoy this video so much that I watch it at least once a day, and it's been a few weeks since I purchased it. Needless to say, when I like something, I wear it out! Ha! But I have to admit that Dorinda Clark-Cole's ministry is such a blessing to me. It started first with the CD and now this incredible video! I was present for the taping and I still watch it over and over again like I'm seeing it for the first time. Her anointing is simply off the chain! From "If It Had Not Been for the Lord" to "I'm Still Here", she gives you 110 percent! For those who don't know her, Dorinda is one of the world-famous Clark Sisters, arguably one of gospel music's best groups ever. But here, it's clear that this is her time to shine as a solo artist. However, as she points out, she couldn't have done it without the support of those around her. I particularly like that she incorporates so many young people in her ministry. As you'll see, most of the background singers, choir members, musicians and dancers are young enough to be her children. So, the energy is no doubt high and so is the praise! Through it all, Dorinda never misses a beat. Please support this video and don't forget to tell your friends and family about it. I know it's gonna bless 'em real good. Thanks again Dorinda for being such an anointed vessel of God - allowing the Lord to speak through you with such honesty and conviction. As the song goes: "I am still here and it's by the grace of God." Thank you.

Eric Clapton and Friends
Released in DVD by Red Distribution, In (23 September, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Eric Clapton
It's a given that any Eric Clapton performance will be impressive, but Eric Clapton & Friends Live 1986 exceeds all expectations. "Slowhand" had been recording August with session regulars Greg Phillinganes (keyboards), Nathan East (bass), and album producer Phil Collins on drums, and the idea of live performance seemed eminently appealing. The final gig in that brief, spectacular tour--July 15, 1986, at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England--was recorded for British television, and editing to one-hour length doesn't stop it from being a full-on stunner. Perhaps at his finest in a small-band setting, Clapton appears loose, happy, and ready to rip into bluesy riffs and solos as if his trusty Fender Stratocasters were vital organs tapped into his bloodstream. While the reliable oldies "Crossroads," "White Room," "Layla" (including the rarely heard "Thorn Tree in the Garden" section), and "Sunshine of Your Love" will satisfy Cream and Yardbirds fans, the fresh cuts from August are equally dazzling, with the beautiful "Holy Mother" serving as the night's pulse-calming ballad. Collins' hit "In the Air Tonight" is clearly an obligatory inclusion (his solo debut was still high on the charts), but in terms of energy, precision, and audience appeal, it's easily on par with the rest of the gig. Visuals are only adequate--the videotaped colors have faded a bit--but sonically this show's a keeper, especially if you're equipped to use the DTS option. And just to prove that nobody's perfect, Clapton fudges a note on "Sunshine" and a word-balloon reading "Sorry!" appears above his head--all in the happy spirit of a rockin' good evening. --Jeff Shannon

Absolutely Amazing
What a treat! This is a fantastic DVD that will leave you speechless. A must for any Clapton fan. Good thing DVD's don't wear out. You will watch it over and over again.

A great performance, a regular DVD
First, let me tell you that, being a Clapton fan I try to get hold of everything he releases, whether official or not, and of my modest collection, this is, along with the Hyde Park concert of 1996, one of the best performances caught on video.
As part of the small tour of 1986 he did, this England unique date of a 2-day leg, features Phil Collins on drums, Greg Phillinganes on Keyboards and bassist extraordinaire Nathan East. The tight sound is amazing and as other reviewer mentioned, for a 4 piece, the sound is great, like a steam roller downhill!
As for the Dvd release, this concert had been out in VHS form and now the DVD makes justice to the sound with DTS and 5.1 features. Video quality does not improve much upon the original tape, but I guess just there's so much you can do with a 1986 videotape. As far as extras, this release has none but the simples menu and intro animation with a small 3D guitar spinning around.
I love this concert so much I'd like to see a few more tracks, or some commetary by one of the performers. Anyway, it is a great document in Clapton's career and "comeback" of the mid 80's. Recommended!

Awesome
What more could be said that hasn't already been said. This is a fantastic
jam session with one of the best Eric Clapton. This is a must buy for Eric Clapton fans.

Great DVD, highly recommended
Being the Jump5 fanatic that I am, I just HAD to get the All the Time in the World DVD, and I've watched it about seven hundred times. There's a video for "All I Can Do" on the DVD, a live performance of "Start Jumpin'," behind the scenes of the new mucis video for "Beauty and the Beast," and lastly (and the best part), interviews with each kid in their bedrooms.

The two videos are really cool, and I had never seen them before, but the interviews are definately the best part. You kind of get to see who's who...what each personality is like. I also loved the behind the scenes bit, because it was pretty neat to see what they did to make the video.

I highly recommend this to any fan, or possibly nonfan - to get them into Jump5.

Overall grade - A+

Get this DvD!!!!!!!!
If you like Jump5,just starting to like them or are new to them this dvd is the best!! Even though its only 21 mins. long you will fall in love with it! It has Their newest video All I Can Do, Behind the scenes in their rooms at home,A concert on Go For T.V (they performed Start Jumpin') and Beauty and The Beast behind the scenes footage. The video All I can Do is a wonderful video and is taken place first on a bus then at the beach and back on the bus! Its a much better video than Spinin Around (its on their first Dvd if you wanna check it out). The best part is the tour of their rooms and its soo coooooooooooool!! They tell you about everything and lots of other stuff! I missed the episode on Go For It on T.V that had Jump5 on it and know I get to watch it as many times as I like! The Beauty and the Beast is very fun to watch because unlike the first dvd its not in Blue and White, its in color! THis dvd is so cool you will want to watch it over and over again! I have watched it like 40 times and still haven't gotten tired of it!!

Great!!
It has their newest music video, All I Can Do, which is great!! You also get to see their bedrooms, their performance of Start Jumpin' on Go For It and behind the scenes of the Beauty and the Beast music video! This is a great buy if you are a fan of Jump5!

Karen Voight: Ultimate Circuit Training

Great workout
This DVD is awesome. I exercise to it every morning. I love the ab work on the incline bench, I feel it everytime. I like to choose from different workouts so I never get bored. It makes me sweat so I know I'm getting a workout. Karen is so easy to follow, her cueing is great. I would not change a thing.

A favorite!
Of all my exercise videos, I always come back to this one. This DVD has everything you need for your short or long workout preferences: you can choose to do the lon 1 hr. circuits with weights and step (fit ball option as well), or you can do them individually as a purely "strength" or "cardio" routines. The fitball option BLT (butt legs and thighs) is also a great addition to this DVD when you're not in the mood for something quite so strenuous. Karen's choreography is wonderful and the music is fun as well, which is hard to find for me-- I'm pretty picky, as I usually like modern, techno- hip-hop influenced routines.
The weight routines are also challenging and effective, however, at first you might feel like she doesn't do enough lower body-- but just wait for the last portion on the ball or step-- it's a killer!
Overall, this is the essential workout for me when I want to get a whole body, efficient program in 1hr-- I have yet to find a DVD that can match it!

excellent-lots of variety
This is a great dvd-lots of options for your workout. Karen is easy to follow and personable.I like that some workouts use step, some use the ball and some with no equipment-I like that because I'm not a huge fan of step. Each segment is well laid out and complete, its an effective fun workout that gives you the option to create your own plan depending on how much time you've got and I like that!

Spies/M
Released in DVD by Ryko Distribution - Video (03 April, 2001)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Director: Fritz Lang
Starring: Rudolf Klein-Rogge, Gerda Maurus, and Willy Fritsch
Average review score:

A 'must' for everybody who loves Fritz Lang
While perhaps not quite in the same league as M and Metropolis, Spies (Spione) is really great in its own right, and a testament to the diverse film making skills of its director, Fritz Lang.
Spies is like the 'Bond' of silent films. Indeed, watching the film its hard to believe Albert Broccoli did not use Spies as his prototype for all the James Bond films he produced.
The story opens with the assassination of a diplomat for some documents. Chaos reigns... but then we are introduced to the hero, No. 326. 326 is the master spy who must retrieve the documents, and save the world from the evil banker Haghi (wheelchair bound). In between there's a woman sent to spy on 326, who in fact falls in love with him.... sure, you've seen this before but this film is the original, the real thing, filmed almost 35 years before Bond et al ever made it to the screen.
Spies is simply great fun!
This disk also includes a very scratchy Fritz the Cat cartoon, which I quite enjoyed despite its age and condition, and Lang's classic 'M.' The transfer of M is not bad, but cannot compare with Criterion's version. If you buy this disk, well, you get M but the real treat is Spies.
Regarding the print of Spies, quality is not bad but hardly a great restoration either. Still, the film is quite watchable: impressive for a 75+-year-old print. Like Metropolis, there's a little controversy as to the run time of Spies. This version is 90 minutes, but I've seen listings showing a German version of 178 minutes at a very slow frame rate of 16fps. I don't know if this version has been cut, or if the 178 figure is even correct but its worth mentioning.
Also, for true Lang fans, Kino is supposed to release a fully restored version of Spies (to match Metropolis???) sometime in Fall, so perhaps the mystery will be solved then.
In any case, for now this is the best you will see of this film, and its worth buying and watching even in its present condition. A gem of filmmaking is still a gem despite some scratches on the print!

Buy this one for the great transfer of "Spies"
As I am sure you know there are a lot of budget, poor quality, DVDs out there of Fritz Lang's Films. This great release from Whirlwind is not one of them! The transfer on "Spies" is excellent. The image is very detailed and crisp, there are nicks and scratches throughout the film, but this is to be expected. Only a major restoration could make this film look better. This disc is dual-layered and it seems to show as the video compression looks very good. The audio track on "Spies" contains a very nice organ score that suits the film well. This disc also includes a fair/poor quality of "M". It actually looks far worse than "Spies", but to be fair, I think the source print for "M" must not have given them much to work with. The audio track on "M" is fairly dirty, which takes away from its overall presentation as well. If you are looking for the best version of "M" you will have to get the Criterion version, but if you are looking for a solid edition of "Spies" look no further.

M is full 98 min. version, despite packaging
Despite the incorrect running time listed for "M" on the packaging ("71 minutes"), this cut of "M" is over 98 minutes long, and contains much footage I've never seen before. It remains a riveting thriller, and I highly recommend it. Although I'm a fan of Lang's work, I had not seen "Spies" before. It was also impressive, and quite entertaining.

I thought the DVD transfers were good, and at this price it's a great bargain.

Carnival of Souls
Released in DVD by Gotham Distribution (24 September, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Candace Hilligoss
Average review score:

WHERE HAVE YOU GONE, CANDACE HILLIGOSS??
CARNIVAL OF SOULS is certainly a movie that was WAY ahead of it's time. Released in 1962, it left audiences bewildered, blankly staring ahead. Today, it fits right in! A woman named Mary (the stunning Candace Hilligoss) and her friends decide to drag race with a carload of guys. The girls are forced over the side of a very narrow bridge, plunging into the lake below. Mary rises from the depths, covered in mud, the sole survivor. Or is she? She moves to Utah where she gets a job playing the pipe organ in a church. Slowly, bizarre things start happening. She keeps seeing a sinister looking man (played by director Herk Harvey), first in her car window. Then, all over the place! She also slips in and out of a sort of dream state, wherein no one notices or hears her talking to them. Mary is also obsessed with an abandoned carnival she drove past. The atmosphere grows creepier by the minute! Is she alive? Dead? Somewhere in between? Candace Hilligoss only did one other film in her career (CURSE OF THE LIVING CORPSE by Del Tenney). In my opinion, this is to hollywood's shame! She is brilliant in SOULS! Buy this classic immediately...

Your soul is required Miss Holligoss
Carnival of Souls aka "Corridors of Evil", is a crowning jewel in American Cinema. Despite the low budget and poor film quality, this 1962 masterpiece stands as a cult more than 40 years after it's release. Candice Hilligoss' fine performance will overwhelm you as she portrays a character caught in a purgatory between life and death. Her beauty alone will strike the viewer in a way few actresses can. Her physical acting, facial gestures, and line delivery will leave you wondering why this woman did not become a household name like Marilyn Monroe or Raquel Welch.

The story is as simple as it is complex. A woman is an innocent passenger in a car that gets into a drag race with some teenage thugs. The result is her car going over a bridge into a fast running, sandy river. As she crawls out of the wreckage covered in mud, the viewer thinks she has survived, but has she?

Ms. Hilligoss' character is a musician, an organist to be exact who takes a job as a church organist in Salt Lake City, Utah. As she begins her journey she is terrified of images of a phantom of sorts who seems to be seeking her out. Anyone who has driven for an average of twelve hours straight can tell you that driving can take its toll, and the mind can play tricks on a sleepy driver. However, after she checks into her room, she finds the same phantom lurking in the window, then in the hallway. Who is this creature, what does he want, where is he from?

The main point of the film is not horror, but human nature. Are we all alone in this world? Is everyone an island unto themselves. The lesson is thrown upon our character by a minister, a psychologist, and a would be male suitor. They all try to help her in their own way (except the suitor who is only interested in her for a chance to have sex). But our character waves a hand at them all, convinced that she can do it her own way. She is an independent woman who needs no man or companionship; a view that may have gone against society's thinking in 1962.

The male suitor (or 'just your normal guy' as he likes to call himself) is an obnoxious oaf to say the least. His headstrong pursuit of her is only his own selfish desire to have her. He's not an alcoholic he claims, yet he drinks at dawn. He quit college because he doesn't like to learn. This is not an ideal resume for a long term relationship for her or any other woman. When she is truly frightened by the visiting spectre, and she reaches out to him as a last resort for help, he runs. Not wanting to get involved, he was only interested in her for her body and his own sexual desire. Yet another lesson in this film for all the young ladies who care to pay attention.

As the story goes on Candace's soul seems to deteriorate. She slips in and out of reality and a strange sort of parallel world. This dimension looks the same as real life, but she cannot be seen or heard. The department store dressing room for example, shows how the lost spirit must learn that she is no longer of this world, but now belongs in the spirit world, where yet another companion awaits her.

Who is this man that haunts her in visions? We see at the end of the film that they are to be together forever. In the final seen where we see Candace's peek at her after-life. She screams in horror as the ghosts dance eternally as the haunt the carnival. She is finally captured by the ghosts and is spirited away. The police and minister are confused and baffled as her footprints and final body print leads nowhere. The minister gives a knowing look as if he has known all along, but says nothing.

The minister must have known there was something wrong with his new organist when he first met and eventually fired her. She had not the soul of a musician, she only had a knowledge for music. She was told this too by the organ builder in the beginning of the film. When she is possessed in the church and her true musician ship comes out as she plays without control, that is her true spirit, but the misinster fires her for 'blasphony'.

This film cannot be watched once and dismissed. It deserves to be watched over and over again. It is a timeless movie where something seems new every time you watch it. I applaud you 'Carnival of Souls'. One of the greatest movies ever made.

Real Creepy Stuff
Candace Hilligoss is beautiful but creepy, the music is creepy, the photography is creepy, the story is creepy and the directing is creepy. One of the all time great horror classics.

Def Leppard: Hysteria
Released in DVD by Red Distribution, In (27 August, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Robert Mandel
Average review score:

How Did They Do That
Def Leppard give their fans a treat into breaking down just how their most successful album was made. It is an interesting show and includes acoustic performances of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and "Hysteria", but could've been even better if they gave acoustic performances of songs that haven't been done acoustically before. But still a neat video and a "must have" for every diehard Lep fan.

Lots of details, lots of info, GREAT DVD ...
I really enjoyed this DVD, having been a fan of DL for over 20 years. Even Viv's got some words on this one, which is really cool considering he was rockin w/Whitesnake at the time ...
If you're into DL, you will DEFINITELY enjoy this DVD. Be sure to check out the ENTIRE disc -- the main item is 45 minutes, then the "bonus" material is another 45 minutes! Very cool, sneaky little bits of info. I really enjoyed Joe & Phil listening to the "original" tracks on their own as well.

Definitely worth the $!!!

Great insight into one of the best selling album of all time
This is a great DVD from the classic albums line. the DVD is split into 2 sections part 1 is 50 minutes (?) It goes into great detail how the band put this album together. The interviews were excellent and Steve Clark finally gets the recognition he so finely deserves (and has done for years). I think they should have had more than a 30 second interview soundbyte from Steve though. This dvd also features promo videos for different songs both live and through music video. In closing on section 1 I thought this album had the band at breaking point though it was very draining on all on them to get the results that they got.

The second part about 50/51 minutes Joe and Phil take you almost track for track telling you how each song was put together. Joe and Phil also perform unplugged versions of songs from Hysteria. Overall this was a very DVD I got mine for... and I thought it was wellworth shelling out for in the end.

Lady of Burlesque
Released in DVD by Gotham Distribution (16 April, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: William A. Wellman
Average review score:

STANWYCK SHINES.
The production is kind of cheezy, but burlesque was kind of cheezy. The story is a good old "whodunit" and the acting is first-rate. And, Barbara Stanwyck really shines in this role! Also, she sings and dances(pretty well, actually). The lines are often witty and ascerbic. My favorite line:
PHONY COUNTESS:"And who arrrrre you?"
STANWYCK:"I'm Dixie. And who arrrrre you?!"

BARBARA BUMPS AND GRINDS.....
This must be the film where Barbara Stanwyck proved she could (and would) do almost anything. Based on Gypsy Rose Lee's book "The G-String Murders", strippers in an old Opera house turned burlesque theater are being strangled with their G-strings. And our heroine Dixie Daisy (Stanwyck), the headliner, smells a rat. Fending off advances from a third-rate comic, she sets out to find the killer. Much cattiness and attitude from the other strippers pepper this delightful black comedy as Dixie tries to keep the show going while putting together clues and trying to save her own neck. Lee relied on her own personal experiences as a burlesque queen to give this story the realistic touches it has. And when Stanwyck hits the stage in a VERY scanty outfit (that must have given the censors fits) she's right at home singing a little bump & grind ditty called "Take It Off The E-String, Play It On The G-String". She's surprisingly sexy and has the necessary old-style panache that makes her performance a delight. The DVD from Image is immaculate and this is a must have for Stanwyck fans. Supporting cast is excellent and the characterizations are right on the money. A fun, fun movie worth watching over and over. My favorite line (and there are many): Man to Dixie,"Did I startle you?"....Dixie to Man: "Are you kidding? I've been startled by EXPERTS." Don't miss this one. It's just pure pleasure all the way.

SHE SINGS! SHE DANCES!
Yes, Barbara Stanwyck sings and dances in her very first scene in the backstage story of burlesque performers involved in murder called LADY OF BURLESQUE. Based on Gypsy Rose Lee's silly, charming novel "The G-String Murders," the movie is a guilty pleasure for me. I have never stopped loving it since the first time I saw it. Stanwyck is, to me, one of the best actors Hollywood has ever produced: top of the line in comedy (see THE LADY EVE) and in serious drama (see DOUBLE INDEMNITY). Watch her tame Gary Cooper in BALL OF FIRE and weep along with her in STELLA DALLAS. William Wellman who also directed superb films such as WINGS, PUBLIC ENEMY AND BEAU GESTE has a fine time with the various backstage types in this grainy black and white tribute to a dead art form.

There has never really been a perfect edition of the movie for public consumption. I've even seen an edition minus any credits whatsoever and usually the editing seems like it was done with a pinking shears. This DVD version is probably the best one can buy right now and there are no special features, unless you consider Stanwyck performing "Take It Off The E String--Play It On The G String" a special feature. It is. She bumps, she grinds and the camera stays chastely above her waist.

There are several musical numbers and a few comic sketches that give us a taste of what burlesque must have been. The supporting cast is terrific. It includes Pinky Lee as a comic, Iris Adrian as a tough but friendly stripper and Michael O'Shea as Stanwyck's love interest. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for show business fans. If you're looking for a good murder mystery, look elsewhere.
