Rod Stewart - It Had to Be You: The Great American Songbook
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (04 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Rod Stewart
Average review score:

Zzzzzzzzzzz
Rod may be an icon in the Rock genre, but his first attempt at lounge music is an overwhelming bore. The voice that works so well for Maggie May shoes itself to be inadequate for these classic melodies. Everything sounds fine, but uninspired and unexciting.

One of the Best Concert DVDs !!!
I'm so glad I got this dvd inspite of having the cd already. The dvd has 9 bonus tracks compared to the cd. The tracklist includes the ff: songs

1. Forever Young
2. Some Guys Have All The Luck
3. They Can't Take That Away From Me
4. The Way You Look Tonight
5. These Foolish Things
6. Moonglow
7. Every Time We Say Goodbye
8. The Very Thought Of You
9. That Old Feeling
10. You Go To My Head
11. For All We Know
12. The Nearness Of You
13. That's All
14. We'll Be Together Again
15. Rhythm Of My Heart
16. Downtown Train
17. Maggie May
18. Young Turks
19. Hot Legs
20. Havin' A Party
21. I'll Be Seeing You

Bonus Track: It Takes Two

It's so different when you see an artist perform in front of you & ROD STEWART was truly a treat to watch in this DVD. For a man who's over 50 he sure didn't act like one and that's a compliment coz you will see how much fun he was having in this concert!

I wasn't really exposed to his songs, while I was growing up, for the main reason that I wasn't the "rock" type of person but with the old songs of his that he included in this DVD... This DVD surely rocks my collection of favorites !

Special Listening and Great Viewing
This concert contains many great pre-World War II hit as well as some of Rod's greatest hits. The gorgeous blonde sax player alone is worth watching the dvd. Rod always did like beautiful tall blonde women, and this one is a 10. Who is she? There is no information about her in the DVD.

CKY (landspeed)
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (28 September, 2001)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Bam Margera
Average review score:

Best CKY out there
If you like skateboarding, crazy stunts, and laughing every second, CKY Landspeed is the way to go. If you aren't into seeing awhole lot of nudity or other gross things, CKY Lanspeed isn't as gross as the sequels, so it's great if you want to kinda know what to expect from the other CKY films. The stunts are HILARIOUS and the skateboadring is amazing. I'd reccommend CKY Landspeed to anyone, anywhere, at anytime because it's without a doubt one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

hilarious
this dvd is the funniest movie u will ever see. the prank calls and mcdonalds drive thrus make this dvd so funny. even if u hate stunts and skateboarding, buy this just for the prank calls and mcdonalds drive thrus. u will laugh every time u watch them.

The best one out of the four.
Before jackass killed cky there was landspeed the hilarous debut of bam and his buddies (Bam, mike and kerry were already in skate videos). There is no jackass stars here only some raw HI8 camera work and skateboard parts. The skateboaridng is amazing in this unlike the other ones its not all Bam you see Jamie Thomas, Hockey temper, Ed templeton and lots more in some scenes, there is some very early footage on there too. I love the begging they know how to make good beggings to these videos. There is no highlight almost every skit and prank is as good as the next, almost every song on here is Cky the band and they do a hilarous cover of def leppards foolin and the rocky theme. Buy this if you want to see the best jackass stars.

Aaron Carter - Oh Aaron (Live in Concert)
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (26 March, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Aaron Carter
Bubblegum rapper Aaron Carter is at his most entertaining in Oh Aaron when he's not trying to entertain at all, but hanging out with big brother Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys and reflecting on his fame and a career that began at age 7. These behind-the-scenes moments--intercut with concert footage and his videos--humanize the teen pop star, who makes enough wardrobe changes to rival teen divas in this concert filmed in summer 2001 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. An energetic Aaron tries really, really hard to be a showman, whether he's descending from space inside an alien (a high point) to singing "A.C.'s Alien Nation" or playing to the cameras with a KISS-like dagger painted on his baby face. The music? It all sort of runs together, except when Nick commands the stage, but the endless sea of girls in the audience don't seem to mind. --Valerie J. Nelson

NTYNTO is the coolest song
I love the song Not too young not too old. But the rest of the music is blah.

NOT THAT great NOT THAT bad !
this DVD is not as good as it sounds, the actual concert part is stupid, the only cool thing about this is when he shows you his scars on his legs on the boat, the Heaven song done by Nick himself. I still don't understand why Nick was featured in this DVD, i mean, we just want Aaron, not nick! but they do make a funny duet when they are together. When it shows "Aaron eating a Cajun, he ..... describes what's on his plate, he doesn;t actually EAT 'em. I perfer the AARON'S PARTY - LIVE IN CONCERT much better. He talks alot more in that, and i love the part when he went swimming with the fishes. The 1th b'day party part is dump, coz it's black and white! and the concert part, well, wat can i say, the stage is real small. Hey, i'm just being honest.

k, hope that helped ya!

Aaron ROCKS!!

Michael W. Smith - Worship
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (20 August, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Michael W. Smith
Average review score:

Disappointing is just the beginning
This DVD is disappointing to say the least. From the moment Michael enters the arena through the crowd I feel like I'm watching carefully scripted theatre rather than worship to the King of Kings. The focus here is Michael W. Smith, "Worship Artist". Michael appears stiff and very conscious of the cameras, his movements choreographed. The direction is average, lacking inspiration and repetitive. The only moment I felt my spirit engage was during Awesome God. If you want a truly amazing worship experience on DVD I suggest you avoid this. You're better off buying Hillsong's "Blessed" or Christian City Church, Oxford Falls' new album "Lift".

Great Worship DVD
What wonderful Worship. What a great man of God Michael Smith is.
Thank you

A most intimate and well packaged concert DVD
Michael W Smith is one of my Christian music heroes. Aside from his music, I am so blessed and impressed with his character and ministry, his open heart for youth and unsaved people.

This DVD first of all is so worth the $$, a lot of bang for the buck. He has numerous extras including an awesome commentary track, plenty of backstage extras showing the group's warm up sessions. The production values are great and there are many multiple camera angles of Smitty and many audience shots.

I've seen him in concert several times, and he creates the most intimate concert experience; i think you will feel this from the DVD. He talks to his audience and sings expressly for them. It's not just performing his songs and doing the playlist for the night. The commentary track will give you a real insight to his character and his heart for people. He has encouraged me so much throughout the years. I've been a longtime fan and i only increase in admiration and thankfulness for this talented and giving artist!

Haggard (Rated Version)
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (23 September, 2003)
MPAA Rating:
Director: Bam Margera
Average review score:

waste
If your into weak, typical storylines, and bad acting go ahead and buy it. What happened to the good old toy machine days with these guys. Bam is trying pretty hard to sell-out, maybe he'll be the next chad muska.

Gnar Kill Rules
One of the funiest movies I've seen in a long time , and not just because I am a fan of CKY. Brandon Dicamillo is outstanding , possibly one of the strangest and funniest people I've ever seen. Check out his Chinese freestyle rap on the bonus features. Easily one of the funniest things on the DVD. Raab himself......well , what can I say? Hysterical. Bam , Ryan Don Vito and even Phil , what more can you ask for? Check out the behind the scenes. The true story of Ryan Dunn.

Amazing!
This is an amazing movie. BaM Margera and his CKY crew do their first real movie. They've done CKY Landspeed through CKY4 and now Haggard. It's hilarious and really well done. This is Bam's first real motion picture. It's based on the true story of Ryan Dunn's ex-girlfriend Glauren who dumped him. And rumor has it she's going out with heavy metal poster boy "Hellboy." Ryan can't stand to see the two of them together so he recruits his two friends Valo and Falcone to find out everything they can about Glauren. I'm so suprised oof how good a job Bam and his CKY gang did on this film. Buy it. Don't rent it, buy it.

Live from Bonnaroo Music Festival 2002
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (22 October, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Only 1 problem.
Unbelievable DVD. The only problem is that they didn't include the Disco Biscuits. Nothing says Jam Festival like "BISCO"! Come on! Wake up people. I'll be waiting for Bonnaroo II.

Bar none the best concert DVD ever....
Incredible performances, excellent sound (5.1 DTS & 5.1 Dolby), crystal clear images, overall an excellent compendium of the jamband scene and its music. A great way to relive the shows you saw and see the ones you missed. Everyone I have shown this too loves it, from my friend's five year old to my mother!!

Definitely worth your money!
Having first bought the Bonnaroo CD, I did not think I really needed the DVD. Having bought it anyway now, I'm glad I did!! This DVD is simply amazing! The sound is crisp and clear, image quality is very good, but first and foremost the performances are incredible!

Highlights for me include of course Widespread Panic with Dottie Peoples, Gov't Mule, Blind Boys of Alabama, Phil Lesh and Friends and so on, but what really impressed me was Robert Randolph jamming with Luther Dickinson and Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer's beautiful B Song, which really gave me goose bumps!!

The variety is what makes it great, as this DVD includes a lot of different styles of music, all performed by excellent artists. Jam bands, gospel singers, rappers, bluegrass, it's all here.

There is simply no good reason not to buy this DVD. If you don't have a DVD player go get one, cause this DVD is a must have!!!

Ted Nugent - Full Bluntal Nugity Live
Released in DVD by Red Distribution, In (25 March, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Ted Nugent
For all his political bluster and braggadocio about clean living and killing his own food, let's not overlook the fact that Ted Nugent the guitarist and showman is an entertaining dude, a quality that's in abundance on this two-disc DVD package. In fact, there's more Nuge here than pretty much anyone could need: two hours from a 2001 concert in hometown Detroit (Ted twice comes onstage astride a bison, showing he hasn't lost his flair) mixed with rehearsal and sound check footage, plus enough extras (old concert performances, Nugent's audio commentary, etc.) and assorted bells and whistles to carry over to a second disc. There's even a clip of Nuge lip-syncing "Journey to the Center of the Mind" with his '60s group the Amboy Dukes. Nugent's tuneless hard rock songs and screeching vocals are as, uh, distinctive as ever, but at least the 50-plus rocker has ditched the loincloth and Tarzan act. --Sam Graham

No Tommy Aldridge Drumming
I am a huge Fan of Tommy Aldridge (former OZZY & Whitesnake) and his drumming on the "Full Bluntal.." CD. Having seen Ted opening for KISS I was blown away by the power Trio of Ted, Marco, and Tommy (Aldridge). Ted's songs where always Good but with this lineup playing up to his intensity, they where great. Compare the "Full Bluntal..." CD to any other Ted CD and they pale in pure rock energy. Unfortunatly the DVD bearing the same title does not have "Tommy Aldridge" but "Tommy Clufetos". The magic is gone and its just another back up band playing behind Ted Nugent not with him. Should have filmed DVD when they recorded the CD. Or not used same title for DVD.
Saddly Disapointed to not see one of the greatest rock drummers ever, the one, only and irreplaceable, Tommy Aldridge.

TOMMY CLUFETOS DRUMMING
THIS NUGENT DVD ROCKS!THE DRUMMING OF TOMMY CLUFETOS IS SUPERHUMAN!IVE SEEN THE NUGE WITH MANY DRUMMERS..ALDRIDGE,CARTELLONE....WITHOUT TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM ANY OF THEM,THIS KID IS THE BEST EVER......SAW THEM IN NYC AT BB KINGS...THIS KID DID A DRUM SOLO THAT JUST BLEW MY MIND...THIS DVD IS A MUST SEE FOR ALL TEDHEADS!!!!!

A Great Show
Folks may disagree (perhaps rightly) with Ted's political views, but that debate belongs in another venue. As this DVD amply demonstrates, Ted is a highly capable guitar slinger and, what's more, he's one of the few guitar players since the peerless Jimi Hendrix to make feedback an integral part of his playing.

Highly entertaining, and highly recommended, as is his Double Live Gonzo CD set.

Rick Wakeman - The Legend (Live in Concert 2000) (DVD + CD)
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (30 July, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Rick Wakeman
Although Rick Wakeman has recorded an enormous number of solo projects, this DVD-plus-CD set The Legend (Live in Concert 2000) must surely be the best in terms of sheer value, quite apart from the fact that the performance is very good. Even long after the glory days of Yes and his grandiose solo albums of the 1970s, Wakeman, the inventor of rock keyboards (before him there were pianists and organists, while after him there were programmers), remains a consummate performer. Taken from one of his one-man shows, in which he mixes musical items from his entire career with some expertly delivered anecdotes, there's something to please every fan. The dozen tracks on the DVD include extracts from his solo albums, some Yes music, the brilliant (and hilarious) "Nursery Rhyme Concerto," and much more, while his story about the theater organ in Seattle is alone worth the price of the set. The extra audio CD features all the music on the show, while the DVD itself has six extra audio-only tracks, plus a very funny biography and a photo gallery. --Roger Thomas
Average review score:

Mostly magnificent showcase of dazzling keyboard skills
There are several single reasons to buy this DVD: two extremely funny anecdotes which I won't spoil; a sizzling, rocking arrangement of Eleanor Rigby; the Nursery Rhyme Concerto (Pop Goes the Weasel by Rachmaninoff!), and an amazingly virtuosic performance of Jane Seymour for which Rick inserted authentic organ sounds into his Korg - if you close your eyes, you're inside a church. Magnificent.

Other than that, the DVD is a bit of a mix. There are lots of favourite Wakeman tracks from King Arthur and Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and a couple of Yes songs which are given a gentle piano treatment and stand up very well. These are interspersed by the aforementioned funny ditties, which really are rib tickling.

Unfortunately for me the experience was spoiled by an appalling Yanni-sounding backing track which appeared in the intro (Pacobel's Canon) and refused to go away, spreading itself like too much treacle over most of the remaining pieces. I don't know who thought this was essential to the performance, but Wakeman doesn't need a backing track. Ever. Please, Rick - your hands are enough.

And are they what. Even at over 50, he's still stunning. Someone once said; before Wakeman, there were piano players, and after him, there were programmers. He is truly unique and this DVD is a great introduction to his superb skills if you've never heard him before, or a happy homecoming if you're a long time devotee. Just grit your teeth through the Yanni accompaniment, which knocked a star off my rating.

A good DVD, a great CD
Actually 5 stars for the CD, 4 stars for the DVD. The DVD is ok in that you get to see the master in action. But Rick Wakeman is more for the ears than the eyes. The set looks a lot like the "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" set. This is all you see, along with Rick's keyboards and such. Sure he tells jokes, but his accent's heavy and it is English humor afterall. The CD is phenomenal with superb playing and outstanding compostitions by the man himself, which outshine the classics such as "Canon in D", "Claire de Lune", "Help" & "Elenor Rigby".

Great Value, Great Music
If you only know Rickman from his recordings with Yes, then you don't know Rickman. This DVD presents an excellent selection of the classically-trained pianist's best work, interspersed with highly entertaining monologues and personal anecdotes. I found his solo work and classical pieces to be slightly more enjoyable than the Yes and Beatles covers, but the concert itself is an all around success and a great value for your money.

The Invincible Pole Fighter

Gordon Liu Classics!!!
Love classic Kung Fu. Big fan of Gordon Liu. Good oldschool flick.

Very Good Flick, but don't believe the hype!!
This was a very good movie, but it is not the greatest shaw brothers film. Other SB films have had better story lines and Fight sequences. If you enjoy Gorden Liu then by all means purchase this film. The movie has a decent plot and very good action (especialy the final fight). You wont be mad that you have it in your collection.

SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!
Eight Diagram Pole Fighter is definitely one of the best of all-time. Its in my top 5. The pole fighting in this movie is spectacular. My favorite scene is when Gordon Liu fights the shaolin monk to complete his training. The choreography is amazing. $$$ well spend. You must buy this movie. It is Gordon Liu at his best.

Biggie and Tupac
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (18 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Nick Broomfield
It would be an exaggeration to say that Nick Broomfield solved the murders of Biggie and Tupac. Nonetheless, he makes a convincing case as to who the perpetrators were and why they weren't brought to justice. Broomfield (Kurt and Courtney), who narrates and appears on camera, comes across like a scruffy Robin Leach, but he's done his homework and sniffs out the clues with the tenacity of a bloodhound. Time and again, he refuses to be intimidated--even when his life appears to be at stake. Fortunately, he was able to convince Voletta Wallace, beloved mother of Biggie Smalls (a.k.a. the Notorious B.I.G.), to cooperate, and that opened many doors. Unfortunately, Afeni Shakur, Tupac's mother, refused to participate or to allow access to his music. She had nothing to fear. Broomfield is fair to both rappers, although the soundtrack is all-Biggie. Easily one of the most fascinating documentaries of 2002. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Suge killed Pac and BIG! Watch this movie, they explain how suge set them both up. They talk about him and the fake cops! All i can say is go see it!

B.I.G And P.A.C
This movie is the best movie/DVD of 2002 to Suge Knight to Lil Cease this is am must have movie

2 True Rappers
This DVD is amazing. "Biggie and Tupac" really convinces you that the murder was really powerfull and smart. "Biggie and Tupac" has a lot of interviews, one thing that all the interviews had in common is that the name Suge Knight was included. This whole thing started with one of Suge Knight's nephews went to the east coast before the whole east coast-west coast war happend, and suge knight's nephew got killed there. Then the whole east coast-west coast war happend. One year before Tupac got murdered he was shot but he didn't die that time. When Tupac was in jail, some prisoners told him that Biggie was the one that tried to kill you. Then Biggie and Tupac split. It was told that Tupac and Death Row records were Mob Pyrus-(Bloods). Russel Poole sais that the L.A.P.D had crooked cops, and that Suge Knight had dozens of cops on his payroll. This DVD makes it obvious that Suge Knight was the one behind the whole thing. Now come on, its so obvious, Tupac threatened Suge Knight that he would leave Death Row Records and take all his unreleased music with him. So obviously Suge Knight didn't want that to happen so he had him killed. And he killed Biggie after to cause a distraction for the case of Tupac. I cant believe Suge Knight actually fooled everyone. I hope Russel Poole wins his case when he sues the l.a.p.d so that fat [jerk]d Suge Knight can go to jail again. Even biggie's mom sais it so, when she said "Why was the LAPD taking off on the day that Biggie and tupac got shot?" DUH!! Suge Knight controlls like half of the lapd so he told them to take off so he could get away with the killings. Everyone knows it was Suge Knight, but no one wants to talk because they're scared that Suge is going to kill them. Anywayz I dont have to worry cuz its just like the Bible says "What ever goes around, comes around". So since Suge Knight is getting away with this plot now, I guess later in his life he's gonna go to jail 4 lyfe. Imagine if Tupac and Biggie neva got shot, they would still be the kings of hip-hop, not even 50 cent or eminem or dr.dre could beat them. SOLUTE TO TUPAC AND BIGGIE.
