REVIEW OF THE CD, NOT THE DVD
Ok, so one of my fav. bands releases a Live cd.

The question follows:
what for?
are they going to be singing new songs?
are they reinventing some of their songs?
will they show that they can "loose it" if they want to?

One of my first impressions on this Coldplay cd is that they believe in the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I mean, Yellow has a new beginning, Clocks has a more definitive ending, but that's about it. See you Soon is executed the same way as it has been for the past 4 years, In My Place is EXACTLY the same as the studio version. It is plain to see that songs like Everything's not lost can last 9 minutes (like in this live version), but it is NECESSARY to improvise a little bit; otherwise the song is simply too long for nothing. A Rush of Blood to the Head starts with a Pink Floydish instrumentation, but soon every part of the band starts "copying" the original version.

There is one new song called Moses which is fairly good, but too U2 sounding. It is really catchy though, but we already know that Coldplay is about catchiness; it would be interesting to see if there's more to them than that. Songs like Clocks or Daylight (which is not in this cd) certainly prove so.

See you soon is a very beautiful song and we can forgive them if they play it as originally invented. But One I love... what's the point of excluding classics like Trouble and The Scientist and including that song?! I mean, imagine a medley that mixed the 2 aforementioned songs and tell me which of the options is more exciting...

I rate this 3 starts simply because the songs are absolutely mesmerizing. But that's not merit of LIVE 2003 CD, but of PARACHUTES and A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD.

Pd. Not to mention the fact that this cd was not necessary at this VERY early stage of their career, specially since they were not planning to do what I have suggested in the paragraphs above.

Amazing!
Coldplay's live 2003 dvd is absolutely amazing. They play many of their great songs to new levels. This is a dvd you should get especially if your a coldplay fan! Great job on this dvd!!

Great Stuff...
This is a great CD and DVD package- Coldplay's live show is great and having seen them in concert last year, the DVD is a great gift to the fans who can relive this great show over and over. It's as fun a concert to listen to as it is to watch, because the footage is cleaverly shot to go with the beat of the tunes- it alternates between black and white and color with interesting shots. The DVD menues are very cool and the road movie special feature is a wonderful look into this great band that seems genuinely humbled and blessed by their sucsess- It certainly seems that Coldplay is a band that can stand the test of time and this DVD/CD is great.

INXS - Live Baby Live
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (07 October, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: David Mallet
INXS fans can rejoice over the release of this buoyant concert film, shot during an ecstatic performance before 72,000 hopping fans in London's Wembley Stadium on July 13, 1991. The Australian band's vocalist, the late Michael Hutchence, is at his feral-romantic best, stalking and swiveling his way through an energized set of welterweight pop. The show starts with a big, boomy "Guns in the Sky," takes a turn toward unexpected soulfulness with "New Sensation," and spreads the wealth with a sharp set of ballads and rockers. Hutchence has fun with a naughty "Know the Difference," plays around with a Jagger-esque take on confessional soul in "The Loved One," and milks "Never Tear Us Apart" for all it's worth. The band sounds more muscular than they did in the studio, hard-charging and rough on "Suicide Blonde," drunk on a jazzy guitar hook in "Need You Tonight," and completely danceable on "Bitter Tears." --Tom Keogh

"The biggest pub we've ever played"- Michael Hutchence
It's been years since I've put in my VHS copy of this show and I had forgotten how good it is. This DVD is a treasure, not only to see Hutchence and company at the top of their game, but of course just to see Hutchence and be reminded of his charisma and stage presence. It is with admiration and sadness that I watch him take control of the Wembly crowd and perform every song like it was his last performance. What electricity, honesty, ... what a spark he had. Not that the rest of the chaps, especially Jon, don't seem to be having just as good a time. It really is the band in historic form. From "Original Sin" to "I Send a Message" to "Suicide Blonde," it's just about the perfect time capsule for the band (although I happen to think Welcome To Wherever You Are is one of music's great underrated masterpieces and would love a DVD from that era). I swear, when the Wembly crowd takes the vocals from Hutchence on "Mystify" in glorious DTS 5.1 sound I want to sing along. I would have loved an enhanced 16X9 widescreen picture, but how small a quibble is that? I haven't had a chance to go through the bonus features, but they're plentiful. Until INXS release a comprehensive and remastered DVD compilation of their video clips, this will do just fine.

FINALLY !
Previously, this was only available on VHS and Region 4 (Australia) DVD, so the North American fans were left with little.

This is the one must-have concert-DVD for your collection. It is so enormous in scale. 72,000 fans packed in like sardines, all rocking out to one of the best live shows of any band ever.

This is INXS at their peak, no question. This needs to be played VERY loud!

THIS DVD IS WHAT YOU NEED!!!!!
Finally, we get an INXS DVD!!!!! Now what we need is a compilation with every promotional video clip INXS made on one DVD, remastered in 5.1 surround sound just like this excellent concert reissue!!!!! Only flaw about this package is not including a remastered copy of the original LIVE BABY LIVE album, because both would have been perfect as a CD/DVD combo package, but it doesn't matter...this DVD gets 5 stars all the way!!!!!

(This DVD also makes me wish that U2 would remix and reissue the ZOO TV: LIVE FROM SYDNEY and POPMART: LIVE FROM MEXICO CITY concert videos in 5.1 surround sound on DVD!!!!!)

Pokemon - The Adventures in the Orange Islands
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (12 November, 2002)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
These 12 episodes from the second broadcast season (nos. 228-239 in the overall continuity) help to bridge the events of the first season, which took aspiring trainer Ash Ketcham from his Pallet Town home to the Pokémon League championships, and the later "Johto Journeys" story line. Professor Oak sends Ash, Misty, and Brock to the Orange Islands to collect a mysterious Pokéball found by fellow researcher Professor Ivy. When they reach her lab, Brock decides to stay with the Professor and her three female assistants. Ash and Misty are soon joined by Tracey, a "Pokémon Watcher" in training who sketches. After the perpetually amorous Brock, he makes a rather bland companion. Although the archipelago boasts a string of gyms, Ash wins only one badge, the Coral Eye.

There's little sense of a narrative thread to these stories as the characters wander aimlessly from island to island. They escape the snares of the inept Team Rocket (Jessy, James, and Meowth), who stalk them in a submarine disguised as a giant Magicarp. In the weird "Stage Fright," a traveling troupe uses Pokémon as puppets, but Kay is having trouble with her Raichu: she can't get it to follow when she recites "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." (They don't consider the possibility that Raichu, like generations of English students, may be bored by the poem.) The Pokémon craze peaked long ago, but the series remains a harmless, if repetitious diversion for smaller children. (Suitable for all ages: minor cartoon violence) --Charles Solomon

End Of Season 1, Prologue Of Season 2, Begining Of Season 2
This is a must have! Since it was made quite a while after season 2, the end of season one and some of season two are jam packed on this DVD! I'm going to use the Japanese name of the characters [since this IS a Japanese cartoon] but the English episode titles so you know what I'm talking about. Musashi=Jessica, Kojiro=James, Nyaasu=Meowth, Satoshi=Ash, Kasumi=Misty, Kenji=Tracey, Takeshi=Brock, Pikachu=Pikachu, Sakaki=Giovanni, Professor Ookido=Professor Oak, Yamoto=Cassidy, Kosaburu=Butch, Officer Junsar=Officer Jenny, Psyduck=Koduck, Soonansu=Wobbuffet, Nurse Joi=Nurse Joy
Pallet Party Panic [Season 1]: Satoshi is celebrating his victory as 15th place in the Indigo Pokémon League but since our wish-they-were-evil-but-their-boss-just-likes-to-lie-to-them villains Musashi, Kojiro, & Nyaasu 'spice-up' the party by making Satoshi, Kasumi, and Takeshi's food flaming hot. They then steal what-they-THINK-their-boss-wants-them-to-steal, Satoshi's Pikachu, and 'end the party in a bang' with bombs of theirs. Unfortunately, this 'back fires'!
A Scare In The Air [Season 1]: Satoshi wins a trip to an island in the Orange Archapellago so Musashi, Kojiro, & Nyaasu notify their boss. Sakaki tells them they'll be promoted to The Duridgible Division [M, K, N (short for Musashi, Kojiro, & Nyaasu) call it "The Blimp Brigade". ...M & K flunked out of school and N, not being a human, never went to school so they tend to be pretty dumb at times] when he really wanted them to crash for insurance purposes-and that they'd be dead so he would never have to deal with them again.
PokéBall Perril: The blimp lands on the destination where Satoshi goes to pick up a PokéBall for Proff. Ookido. The professor with the PokéBall caught Takeshi's love interest [as do the majority of the girls he meets] and stays at her laboratory [though when he returns to the Kanto region he becomes miserable at the mention of her name.]
The Lost Lapras: Three Pokémon Trainers are abusing a baby Pokémon that was separated from its school so a Pokémon Watcher/Pokémon Researcher named Kenji comes along with a potion to revive it. The Pokémon is very vulnerable and shy but develops a slight comfort around humans via Satoshi protecting it from being stolen.
Fit To Be Tide: Satoshi's first Gym Battle for an Orange League Badge. What? A Water Race??? Just what is the Gym Leader trying to pull?!
Pikachu Re-Volts: Kosaburu & Yamoto, a former friend of Musashi's, are at it again! They use the method of hypnotism to lure Pokémon into being stolen. To the protagonist's misfortune, Musashi & Kojiro are the only ones who know the culpirates-and that means helping out their nemesis: Officer Junsar!
The Crystal Onix: A little girl sends out a message in a bottle asking for information about a Crystal Pokémon that sparked the artistic abilities of a family member that her brother needs to keep his glass sculpting shop from going out of buisiness.
In The Pink: Musashi, Kojiro, & Nyaasu accidentally wind up on an island with Pink Pokémon that is forbidden due to poachers such as themselves. Having very out-of-the-ordianary ideas, they want to steal the Pink Pokémon to partake in performances at a theme park the infamous trio plans to purchase [even though by then they stoped getting paid from their major job, having to rely of their part-time jobs].
Shell Shock!: An ancient prophecy foretells that messing with an island, there will be a red moon and the island will sink. An expedition is led to observe Pokémon's fossilized shells and Musashi, Kojiro, & Nyaasu come along. You do the math.
Stage Fight!: A Pokémon Showboat holds preformances by actors voicing Pokémon [who are acting and matching the lip-flap] back stage. One of the actor's voices went thanks to Kojiro so a girl takes his place-but she is just begining to understand her Pokémon, which is very easily scared and cryies a lot.
Bye Bye Psyduck: Say what?! Kasumi's Koduck evolved?! Can't be! That thing is dumber than Musashi's Soonansu! ...Or could it be true? If it is then go Kasumi!
The Joy of Pokémon: Kenji falls in love with a Nurse Joi [as he does for every other hot chic] and becomes very worried about her safety during a storm, not thinking about his own safety. Blinded by love he almost costs the lives of dangerously sick Pokémon.

It's about time!
I bought this DVD back when it first came out but I'm only now getting around to reviewing it. Anyway, after wondering why they skipped the Orange Islands when putting out the DVDs they FINALLY came out with this..a TWELVE episode disc! Compared with the other Pokemon DVDs which have like 3 episodes (probably why I never bought any of those) at the same price so this is a truly awesome deal. The Orange Islands are my favorite episodes in the whole Pokemon series. I just wish there were more eps, like a full season. The atmosphere is just so lighthearted and fun..guess that tropical climate really helps. I don't really like Tracey but it's okay cuz he mostly feels like a background character who's just along for the ride. Which means that most of the focus is on Ash and Misty with plenty of Pokeshippy moments! My only complaint...would it KILL them to add some special features?? Over all, it's a great buy for any Pokemon fan and even if you're not and say you're looking to get this for your kid, it's MUCH more enjoyable and easier to sit through than say the boring Johto Journies eps. Thanks for readin!

Orange Islands Rule!
Many people say that the Orange Islands episodes were bad. I, however, am certainly not one of them. I honestly think that they were among the best episodes overall: since they are not based on anything concrete (the way the Indigo and Johto League episodes were based on the GameBoy games), the writers were given much more creative license, and they used it with great success. Despite the fact that there are only about 12 episodes currently available, I applaud Nintendo and 4Kids for taking this step, and I also applaud their stated plans to release a second, and possibly even a third, volume. For you out there who are reading this because you aren't sure whether or not to buy this DVD, I say take the chance. If you like Pokemon in general, this should not disappoint. I will concede that some of these episodes were not that wonderful, but the several really great episodes on this disc serve to balance the few that are not. If you already know that you don't like the Orange League episodes, then you probably should not even be reading this in the first place.

Bad Company: In Concert - Merchants of Cool
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (21 May, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Average review score:

Sleepy set
First off Paul Rodgers voice is superb and his stage presence is unmatched. Contrasting this is Dave "Bucket" Colwell. While he is visually a dead ringer for Mick ralphs, his playing reminds me of my Bad Co interpretations while learning the guitar. There doesn't seem to be a rawness to this performance. Great moments and some not so great. Watch first before you buy.

still rocking
i saw bad co in concert last year, they looked and sounded great! what more can be said about paul rodgers? he is the voice of hard rock, as for the dvd, it's really good, buy a copy, you will enjoy it!

Simon Kirke and Paul Rodgers !
I remember the excellent music of FREE and Bad Company from years ago, but had not heard of anything new since the demise of the FIRM. Then, I saw Simon Kirke on one of Ringo Starr's wonderful shows, and he was every bit as good as he had been in my memories! I searched, and found this DVD of the newly reformed Bad Company, and bought it quickly! Paul Rodgers may be the best rock vocalist to ever grace the airwaves, but I believe he is at his best with Kirke providing the solid, "rock steady" foundation. This is what you get on this DVD! They do "Wishing Well" & "All Right Now" in conjuction to the magnificent Bad Company Hits. Mick Ralphs isn't here, but another guitarist fills in for him well enough. I like the new bassist, and have just played this DVD over, and over, again! The show presented here is wonderful, with Rodgers displaying a marvelous "frontman" skill along with his voice. This type of performance is the kind that really comes across well with DVD technology. The DVD has many special features, including a "hidden" song,(though I have not found it yet), and interviews with "friends" including Tommy Shaw from STYX, the Jabo Stokes Jive Rockets Band, and the Damm Yankees. I hope the hidden song is either "Fire & Water", or "My Brother Jake" from the FREE days, but regardless, this DVD is WELL WORTH the purchase!!

Dark Days
Released in DVD by Ryko Distribution - Video (25 September, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Marc Singer (II)
For two years Marc Singer lived with the people who make their home in the tunnels beneath Penn Station in New York, creating an unflinching portrait of a part of society that is literally and figuratively beneath our notice.

"You'd be surprised what the human mind and body can adjust to," says Tito, one of the tunnel dwellers. He and his neighbors are homeless, but the tunnels offer them a degree of safety that doesn't exist on the streets above. In this strange place they manage to achieve a remarkable degree of domesticity, building shelters, keeping pets, and cooking meals.

Singer has an eye for telling images, such as Dee dragging a sofa along the train tracks like Sisyphus rolling his stone in Hell. With its grainy black-and-white photography and haunting soundtrack, this is a surprisingly beautiful film, but it is never sentimental, nor does it try to impose a false nobility on its subjects. Dark Days simply shows us a world that we never knew existed, and in this simplicity lies its power. --Simon Leake

Average review score:

....
Little can be said about Dark Days. It chronicles a series of moments in the lives of several tunnel dwellers. It's immensly beautiful with a great, but familiar soundtrack. It's never really sentimental, never judgemental, nor ever does it take sides. Perhaps the end is a bit too serendipitous, but the film seems to portray it as such. It shows the hope for life, a real hope, not hope as the drug people use to justify their lives, not hope as an intoxicant to blind the audience from how gloomy life really is, but hope that is fragile and tentative.

Even if you're not the least interested in these topics, Dark Days is worth a watch both for the visuals and as a wonderfully executed film.

Unforgettable
Dark Days is one documentary that you won't forget. The director spent a couple of years underground in the abandoned tunnels of New York. He befriends the people down there out of curiousity and thenlove--the underground "home" dwellers actually help him to film.

The result is something disturbing and look at the hard life of the inhabitants, but is ultimately uplifting in one of the most liberalizing endings I have seen on film (there're several extraordinary scenes

It is a true independent film, as explained in the DVD extras, and contains a lot of bonus footage. Half of the bonus scenes did not work on my computer but did work on my television dvd player.

I should add that there are scenes in this film that will have you rolling on the floor laughing

You will never forget this film
One evening I was flipping through channels on the TV and came across "Dark Days" on Sundance Channel. I have not seen the DVD so I can only comment on the version that ran on Sundance. It was the most riveting documentary I have ever seen. Although it has been six months since I caught it on TV, and I haven't been able to catch a rerun since, I have not been able to forget it. I came to care about the people living in the tunnel, and when the film was over, I felt as if I had just lost touch with some friends.

What struck me about this film is that it was made on such a limited budget by people who lived in the tunnel. There were no prima-donna actors, directors and producers. As a result, the film is an honest portrayal of life under the tunnels.

There is excellent information on how the film was made at [web page], and you can also catch some samples of the haunting music from the film.

The film inspired me to learn more about the people living in the tunnels under New York. Two books I would recommend on the subject are "The Mole People" by Jennifer Toth, and "The Tunnel" by Margaret Morton.

TaeBo II: Get Ripped Advanced Workout
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (25 September, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Tae-Bo 2 2pak and Billy Blanks
This two-video set by Billy Blanks includes a 30-minute instructional workout that teaches moves and technique as well as an eight-minute workout in which you go all out. Blanks starts the 30-minute video with flexibility training--important for injury prevention as well as comfort. The key to making a high-intensity kickboxing workout effective and safe is doing it correctly, so Blanks carefully teaches the moves, paying careful attention to safety, form, and technique. Blanks explains clearly what to do, what not to do, and why. Even if you're an advanced kickboxing exerciser, spend some time with the instructional video. The eight-minute workout uses all those moves in an advanced blast of sweat and muscle action, great for days when you just have a few minutes and want to spend them intensely. Blanks is the master tae-bo instructor, and he really knows how to teach, motivate, and make you sweat. --Joan Price
Average review score:

IF YOU WANT TO BURN THE CALORIES FAST...
GET THIS DVD...You will burn at least 1000 calories once you master the moves and can HANG until the end!!! If you do this DVD at least 4 times a week YOU WILL SEE IMPROVEMENT within 30 days, hands down. I give it 4 stars because of the off beat counting at times, but with Blanks new DVD Tae-Bo Cardio, much of this has been addressed and cleared up. You will workout and feel it, but at the end it is worth it. Also, KNOW THE TECHNIQUE before purchasing this DVD. If you do not, I advise to get the original Tae-Bo or Tae-Bo Live DVD's. These DVD's have the instructional section which will walk you through the technique. Many have complained of knee injury etc., remember when you kick you raise your thigh and extend your leg, do not just throw it out there, this is where injuries occur. And again, it is important to know the technique before jumping into any of the workouts, including the basic format.

very interesting
This video is very hard and rewarding. I know when I did the first video, I was very pumped to do more. Its hours a workout and there are two. It hard to do the workout with my three year old but I have to lose the weight bad and Ill do it. Its a great workout which you lose about 800 calorie per workout. Its not that bad when you do about 3x. Its great video to lose alot of weight in minimum time.

Billy Blanks IS THE BEST!!!
I was a devoted follwer of his original tapes, so when these came out I was VERY eager to try them. They are FANTASTIC!!! They are more intense than the originals and more fun! They continue to challenge me, and I get bored easily. The cardio level is comparative to running or spinning, and you tone your whole body doing it. It keeps getting better!
Highly reccomended!!!

info
I want to buy this movie for my girlfriend, because she likes it very much. My question is: are there subtitels in dutch available?

Original story comes alive
If you want to accurately compare the 1936 movie and the 1980 TV version of Little Lord Fauntleroy, I suggest you first read the story written by Francis Hodgson Burnett. The casting, characterization and dialogue in the 1936 movie is outstanding and is almost an exact visualization of the original story as written by Burnett. The strong point for the 1980 TV version is of course Alec Guiness. Unfortunately in the 1980 version "Dearest" is portrayed more or less as a feminist and Schroeder as Fauntleroy is - well too cute. Visual appealing, it is but another example of modern screen writers believing they can write the story better than the original author. If you have to choose, pick the 1936 new DVD version. You will not be disappointed.

Let's not compare
The 1930s version of Little Lord F. is a classic. Back then films were "finished" and crafted. Art and music were integral to the whole film. Today, we look mostly at the characters to see if they resemble us. Freddie was the ideal for the 1936 film, and Rickey appealed to many of us because he was more "American." But if you want to see class, just review the parlor scene with the classic folk song, and watch the actors get it right on the dot. This isn't snobbism. It is just knowing what the finer points are.

Starwoids
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (16 October, 2001)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Dennis Przywara
Average review score:

Good fun, kind hearted doc
I thought all fan boys (and girls) were kind of nuts and a story on Star Wars fanatics waiting to see a movie would be a great laugh. It was extremely funny, but for completely different reasons. I walked away from this doc actually caring about these people in line. Yes, they are extreme, but they create a certain bond with an each other, a bond created by all things, a piece of commercial filmmaking. The pieces between the line waiting are also a laugh riot! The guy who goes from store to store to collect figures was worth the price of the DVD alone. A well made doc, I must say. Hats off to all that were involved in making a documentary that was better than the movie it was actually MADE ABOUT!

Starwoids does precisely what it sets out to do
This portrait of Star Wars fans awaiting the opening of Episode One is entertaining, often hilarious, strangely endearing, and just generally a very well done documentary. The slice of life quality is only enhanced by the sometimes rough shooting conditions. While I like Star Wars, I'm not quite a "Starwoid," yet I still found the film emminently watchable and a great deal of fun.

For DVD viewers, the extras section is far better than I have seen in many high-budget releases. Although subtitles might have been a useful feature that is missing, make sure you catch the Kevin Smith interview, the out-takes from the Star Wars musical, not to mention the delightful and often side-splitting bantering during the director's commentary.

Overall, this documentary is more than worth its price.

Great fan doc that will stand the test of time
Holy cow, this movie is the most hilarious doc I've seen in years (And believe me, I see a lot of docs). It's almost like watching "Waiting For Guffman" or "Best In Show," but these people are not actors, they're all REAL!

The best way to describe "Starwoids" is either a "Hands On A Hardbody" for geeks or a Star Wars version of "Survivor." These people standing in line for six weeks to see a movie are out of they're freaking mind, yet you have to give them credit for being so dedicated to a movie (The Phantom Menace) that didn't really live up to it's expectations (As a matter of fact, this movie had more heart and soul than "The Phantom Menace.") Some of the better moments:

A musical Version of Star Wars with a singing, dancing Han Solo!

A rapping/DJ in a Boba Fett outfit.

A woman who designed her car like an X Wing. All weird, all funny, but most importantly entertaining.

Very well executed, directed, and edited, "Starwoids" is definitely a great documentary find that will only get better with age. Like "Woodstock," it is cultural time capsule of pure Americana. Great flick!

Tae-Bo Live
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (26 September, 2000)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Billy Blanks
This four-pack of videos is enough Tae-Bo to keep your moves exploding without getting bored or plateauing. The first 60-minute video, Instructional, is a prerequisite for the others; it demonstrates how to do the fundamental movements, one by one. Beginning with a flexibility routine, instructor Billy Blanks demonstrates plenty of modifications for less flexible exercisers. Next he teaches punches and kicks that you'll be using in the workouts, with plenty of attention to technique and injury prevention, including effective demonstrations of the wrong way to do each move. He is patient and thorough. It is surprising, however, that with all the videos he's sold, he doesn't realize that he's miscuing the directions constantly--his left and right directions match the people behind him, not the viewer facing him.

The 34-minute Basic video is next, but with Blanks, basic doesn't mean easy. The moves are tough, physically and mentally, put together in a fast-paced routine that will keep you sweating. A large class does the workout in the background.

Next is the Advanced workout. Don't even think of doing this until you can do the Basic in your sleep. After the Tae-Bo workout, Blank sends you to the floor for endless sets of a killer ab and hips routine. You'll feel every minute of this video's 60-minute running time.

The final workout is an 8-minute blast, a short but killer total-body workout for those times when you have just a few minutes to work out.

Blanks is a seven-time World Martial Arts Champion, creator of the original Tae-Bo that set aerobics rooms on fire. He's motivating, personable, and an excellent instructor. --Joan Price

Average review score:

too much advertising you can't skip
I was very dissapointed with the Taebo Live DVD. You cannot skip the advertising that begins each of the sections and so you have to listen to it EVERY time. I also think the routines are a bit choppy. the original TaeBo Workout and Get Ripped are much better.
If you are a current TaeBo enthusiast I recommend you skip this DVD

Too Easy and Too much Advertisment
The major drawback of this DVD is that before the advanced work out there are many advertisments you have to sit through before the video begins. This is extremly annoying and makes me mad everytime I do the workout. I have only done the advanced workout and it is not as intense as his other advanced work outs. One positive thing about it is it has a really good ab workout. I would not have purchased this video if I had tried it first.

Tae Bo is Brilliant!
Everyone should give Tae Bo a try. Approach it with confidence and determination. Read online Tae Bo discussion boards for support and success stories to keep you motivated. But when you commit to working out, do it for spirit rather than your physical hopes. As Billy says, let the rest fall into place.

This particular set is a great set for Tae Bo fans or Tae Bo beginners. Although the instructional workout can be boring, you really need to watch and work along with it before doing your first workout. It will hopefully help you complete your workouts safely and effectively.

The basic workout is a great workout that beginners will find challenging. Eventually you may be able to move to the advanced tape, but take your time and build your skills, confidence, and endurance first. The 8-minute workout is not really something you should use on its own. I would suggest doing the basic workout and the 8-minute workout back-to-back as you progress between basic and advanced. Just try out various ideas to see what is best for you.

And don't get discouraged if even the basic is too tough for you to complete when you begin. Take your time and focus on completing the moves you make as cleanly as possible, work on good form.

Approach Tae Bo with the a determinded and strong mind! You will feel great!
