The Calling - Wherever You Will Go/Adrienne (DVD Single & CD Single)

MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)

The Calling comes to Smallville
I first heard a brief part of this song on the WB's hit show Smallville. I really like it. It took me about 3 weeks to track it down....I could not find the actual title of the song. The song is used in the first season, and used very well I might add, when Clark return a very special necklace to his secret love Lana Lang, then turns and walks away without her knowing it was he who returned the lost necklace. I highly recommend this album and I continue to listen for more from The Calling

The Calling they ROCK!

Big Country - Final Fling
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (24 September, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
With the untimely passing of frontman Stuart Adamson in 2001, the title Final Fling couldn't be more sadly appropriate. This two-disc set captures Big Country toward the beginning and near the end of their 20-year career. The first disc features a 1988 performance from an outdoor peace concert in East Berlin, shortly before the release of Peace in Our Time (and before the Berlin Wall came down in 1989). It's a straightforward, electric set played in front of a huge, enthusiastic crowd during the twilight hours. The second disc finds the Scottish rockers back at their old stomping grounds, Glasgow's Barrowlands, while on their Driving to Damascus tour with the Alarm in 2000. They may look older, but their chiming twin-guitar attack is as passionate and rousing as ever. Both sets include such fan favorites as "Look Away," "Fields of Fire," and Top 40 hit "In a Big Country." --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Big Time Music
The "live in berlin" DVD is well worth the price of this 2 DVD set. Hungry, energetic and singing/playing with passion. when is the last time you said that about a pop/rock band. A must have for Big Country fans, a "should have" for everybody else. The other disk "Glasgow Borrowlands", seemed more like a farewell/thank-you concert and wasn't as lively, but was a nice addition.

Two Thrilling Concerts for the Price of One!
A HIGHLY recommended DVD! Big Country in concert in 1988 (Germany) & 2000 (Glasgow). Concert one features Big Country at their peak with great energetic versions of many tunes (including Where the Rose Is Sown, The Seer, Just a Shadow, Wonderland, In a Big Country, Fields of Fire...)! This concert is marred (slightly) by the addition of Josh Phillips' poorly mixed keyboards (too loud) but is my favorite to listen-to & watch! The second concert is very pleasing (if not as impassioned). The band does seem a little precise, and the newer material is more poppy/less eclectic. Amusingly, the band are all in kilts for the Glasgow concert! The sound on this concert is flawless (Mark's drums sound especially lovely :P). Included in this show are lovely renditions of Harvest, The Storm (!), Where the Rose Is Sown, Come Back to Me, Dive into Me, Look Away, Lost Patrol, 13 Valleys, Wonderland, Porroh Man, In a Big Country, & Fields of Fire... * The EXTRA's on this DVD are scant but interesting (previews of other DVD concerts ostensibly to be released in the future from BC's official UK site, the band's rider contract for booking, photos, a brief behind the scene clip, and text from the 2000 tour book...) A lovely surprise US release from a sorely missed band!

THE LEGENDARY SUPERSTARS .. GROUP T N T
THE NIGHT YOU GUYS CAME TO TOWN WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND I COULDN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE. THE REUNION WAS A SUPRISE TO YOUR MANY FAN WORLD WIDE! WE HEARD SONGS WE THOUGHT WE WOULD NEVER HEAR AGAIN. THE PRAYERS THAT WERE MADE BEFORE WRITING THESE SONGS PAID OFF. ITS TRUE, IN THE WORDS OF THE WINANS,(WE'LL NEVER KNOW ALL THE PEOPLE WE HAVE REACHED). WE THE FANS APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT YOU CAME TOGETHER FOR ONE PURPOSE IN THE MIST OF LIFES CONFUSION AND EVER CHANGING WAYS. MANY OF MY FRIENDS WERE CHANGED AFTER HEARING YOUR SONGS (WE CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THEM). PLEASE RETURN FOR A PART II COMMISSIONED EXPLOSION REUNION TOUR IN THE NEAR FUTURE,AROUND CHRISTMAS. ALTHOUGH YOU GUYS HAVE DONE MANY PROJECTS FROM MITCHELL'S NEW ALBUM TO FRED HAMMOND BREAKING GOSPEL MUSIC HISTORY! CONTINUE TO REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND LISTEN TO YOUR FANS IN MIAMI!!!

SPEACHLESS
MAN,ive been waiting on this for years.IT's the best thing to happen to gospel music in years. It's because of COMMISSIONED that i got saved. It was great to see the guys together on stage again. You can feel the electricity from the concert.I'll nver forget the first time I heard them in the early 80s.I've never been the same.I've been blessed from the first song I heard(Hide the word),to (I AM HERE),to my all time favorite(KING OF GLORY).I'll end tis by saying,I never thought the guys would ever come to my city, but they did,and I had the chance to play host to FRED& MARVIN.The result. For almost 9 years we've been friends. THE GREATEST GOSPEL GROUP EVER.

Simply Outstanding!
Man, this was almost like watching the Jackson 5 reunion. It wasn't that crazy, but it was pandemonia when Commissioned walked on stage. I've had the DVD since the day it came out and I've watched it everyday. The only thing that bothered me is that the DVD didn't have any special features like pre and post-concert interviews or any behind the scenes looks. But, all in all this is a tremendous experience. I saw them in Charlotte and it was the best concert I've ever attended. These guys are great and their chemistry is great onstage. Marvin and Marcus cutup on stage. The two drummers are awesome. The brass section is fun to watch. You can't see their antics on CD. On "Ordinary Just Won't Do" you get to see the emotions behind the singing. This was just fun to watch. Of course, with DVD you can just fast forward to your favorite song. This is a must have for any old or new Commissioned fans. It was like watching Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Newsboys - Thrive, Live From the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

This DVD SHINEs
We recently bought this dvd, and glad it wasn't VHS format... we would have worn it out by now! High quality audio and video from a high quality band. I liked the newsboys before this but after hearing more about them in the interviews and clips (in the extra features) made me respect them even more! These guys walk their talk! Find out what the newsboys did on their trip to the concert! (Hint: Cleveland, snow, jumpercables) A must for any DVD collection.

Great Christian Concert
What a great concert. I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you

Great audio as well as video
It's rare I buy a concert DVD/Video, so the fact that I loved this DVD surprised me. I found this DVD after returning home from Ohio for my sister's wedding. While there, we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As I was walking around, I was disappointed in the lack of Christian musicians there since anyone who knows the history of Christian music knows the impact it's had on society. Anyway, I found this DVD and was shocked.
First, it does the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame justice. Great camera work with the exception of the two girls in the crowd who KNOW they're on camera.
Second, the interviews and behind the scenes is almost as fascinating as the concert. I love learning the history behind songs, bands, etc.
And finally, this DVD is as great a live recording as it is a DVD. Sometimes I'll put it on, turn off the TV, and listen to it as if it were a CD.
The Newsboys recently came to town, and though I got to go, unfortunatly one of our students got sick and had to leave early. I lent this DVD to him and he loved it since it makes the viewer feel like they're there.
All in all, this DVD is awesome. A must buy if you have surround sound. Besides the music, the Newsboys present a spiritual message that touches even the hardest heart.

Widespread Panic - Panic in the Streets
Released in DVD by Bmg Distribution (VI (19 November, 2002)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Filmed in Widespread Panic's hometown of Athens, Georgia, Panic in the Streets is evidence for the good people at Guinness to ponder as they try to verify the band's claim of hosting the "world's biggest CD release party," with up to 100,000 Spreadheads in attendance. Who knew that they kept track of such things? For that matter, who knew that Athens had a mayor (who introduces the group) with the wonderfully weird name of Gwen O'Looney? Such items of esoterica are the primary draw for this video, which is a companion of sorts to WSP's 1998 live album, Light Fuse Get Away. After all, the band members aren't that much to look at (sorry, guys), and the video snippets inserted during the songs--shots of Athens street life, dogs running, water, a train--don't add much conceptually to the proceedings. The band sure can play, though, and some of the songs included on the video were not on the Light Fuse album, so it's a must for completists. The bonuses are cool, too. The tape includes the Billy Bob Thornton-directed video of "Aunt Avis" (featuring Vic Chesnutt and Laura Dern), and there's also a bonus CD with versions of "Tall Boy," "Aunt Avis," "Fishwater," and "Chilly Water." --Daniel Durchholz

awesome live band
I absolutely love this dvd. The audio is great and the footage is wonderfull. This dvd begs you to crank it up. The talent from these musicians is just incredible.

Bad news spreadhead, ya gotta get the dvd....
If you already own the vhs to this great show, ...and if you have a dvd player, it's time to shell out another ...[undiscloseddollar amount]. The picture quality is better, the audio sounds much better with a 5.1 mix. The main reason though, if better sound and video aren't enough, is that as a bonus they included the wonderful long out of print "Live at the Georgia Theatre" show as well!!! Great early Panic performance! Five stars is putting it mildly. Buy this now!

Where do I begin???
Man what an awesome video...gave me chill bumps. Went down in history as the largest release party ever. Lots of awesome close ups of the band and some AMAZING scenes of fields, and woods and stuff, very cool. A must have for any panic fan. Also includes a clip of JB singin the national anthem at a baseball game

CKY3

the best of the best
Many people love jackass, but they dont understand that its "humble beginings" come from CKY... most jackass stars were tied with CKY at one point or another. CKY 3 pretty much says it all... ive seen all the cky movies and bought all the cds but CKY 3 has the best of all. If ur a skater Ryan Gee films alot of the film...

BEST CKY ON THE BOX SET
this is the best cky on the box set. i can't say its the best cky movie yet because i havn't seen cky4 yet. this dvd definetly has the best stunts. if u like the shopping cart stunts on jackass u will love this. it has way more and they are way better! it has loads of stunts and some classic mcdonalds drive thrus. if u dont wanna pay all that money for the box set i urge u to buy this dvd. don't get me wrong..cky:landspeed and cky2k are amazing but this one is easily the best.

I love it!!!
Cky3 is awesome and it lives up to cky2k. It is full of pranks and stunts and loads of fun. At the end, Rabb Himself does something that involves 12 laxetives, him wearing nothing but a jock strap and running at full speed while, well.......you can just watch it and see.

Joni Mitchell - Woman of Heart and Mind: A Life Story
Released in DVD by Red Distribution, In (03 June, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Starring: Joni Mitchell
One of the great talents of her or anyone else's generation gets the royal treatment with this superb two-hour (with bonus material) documentary. It's all here (via interviews, including conversations past and present with Mitchell herself, photos, generous helpings of concert footage, and more): her Saskatchewan childhood, her lovers, her painting, her reunion with the daughter she had left behind at age 19... and, of course, her music, the songs, recordings, and performances, so intensely personal yet so universally accessible, that comprise one of the most extraordinarily original and significant (if not always wildly popular) bodies of work any artist has ever produced. Even true fanatics are likely to find revelations here; the rest of us can simply rejoice in the life and artistry of Joni Mitchell. The extras are highlighted by complete concert readings of four songs, including "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Woodstock." --Sam Graham

Wonderful Documentary
This is a sensitive and beautifully made documentary that I recommend highly.

Joni is one of my favorite musicians. I have been listening to her on a regular basis for over 30 years. As a result, my expectations for this kind of film were high, and overall I was pleased with what I saw.

By far the most appealling part of this documentatary is the wonderful archival footage of a young Joni doing a number of her great early songs. This material simply shimmers with an almost other worldly glow. The retelling of the writing of her song Woodstock all but had me in tears, it was so moving and evocative.

The commentary by people who knew her well, such as David Crosby, Graham Nash, David Geffin, and others, is thoughtful and very enlightening. Recent footage from an interview with Joni herself is also very engaging.

Ultimately I would like to read a really long, really thorough biography that would explain all the complicated details that make up this extraordinary woman's life. There just wasn't enough room to dig into some of the most interesting transitions in her complicated life in this beautifully made, two hour long film. I still hunger for more information.

Joni is such an intelligent woman, and many of the decisions in her later life would make interesting material for a more in depth exploration. Her relationship to jazz, the development of breakthrough albums such as Hejira and Mingus, her personal thoughts on other musicians, etc. All of this would be interesting to read about in more depth.

But one needs to recoginize the limitations of the genre. You can only do so much in a documentary film. And certainly one understands why there was so much focus on her early career, given the almost transcendent power of the early archival footage. The early Joni was a being from another planet, or some parallel idealized universe, almost impossibly beautiful and talented. Given the nature of this early footage, it is easy to forget that she became more interesting as she grew older.

Overally, this is excellent work, a must see for any one who really loves Joni's work and wants to know more about her.

(If one gives every film that one really likes 5 stars, then how can you highlight those truly stellar films that all but change our lives. This is a great film, but I can only bring myself to give it 4 stars. It's very good, but it's not a Bergman or Fellini film.)

A stunning and well-deserved tribute
I'd give this documentary ten stars if I could!! A stunning and well-deserved documentary of the life of one of the true artists to emerge from the baby-boom generation. Joni has always seemed kind of like the Rock of Gibraltor; always was there, and always will be there. But this documentay is a fantastic reminder of how much Joni had to overcome in her initial climb to stardom, and of her staying power as a musical legend -- and maverick -- for the last 30 (or so) years. It also underscores how much Joni and her work mean to so many people. By the way, her reunion with her daughter (and grandchildren) is a tear-jerker. A beautifully produced documentary by people who obviously love and care deeply about Joni as an artist and a person. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Long overdue highlight of the high priestess of song.....
This is a very well done documentary of Joni that actually
does her justice. A complex musical adventurer with a talent
and gift that just excelerated with each new release and took
all her fans on quite a ride during her hey days all through
the 70's. It was a rough ride through the 80's for singer-songwriter musicans but Joni found herself in the early 90's
and went on to make outstanding musical commentaries not only
related to love but the escalting decline of our culture, a subject critics harped on Joni for. From beginning to end this
is a messmerising journey from a lady that has no peers when it
comes to this business. To this day no one has been able to
do the things Joni did and take the risks, new artists are not
allowed this musical freedom to explore. Everyone who loved what made the 70's so special for musicans should check this
out, it has allot to say.

Whole package
I attended this concert in Lakewood Church, and recieved an awesome blessing. I bought the CD whereby PapaSan (portion), and Bishop Jakes cuts were added and thourghly enjoy it. I play the CD, at work, home, in the car, and at my neighbors, friends, and family's homes. Then when I found out there was a DVD, I went to Amazon.com to purchase it and now I spend almost every Saturday morning, cleaning to Hosanna, and He Reigns. I love the praise dancing granny.

Anointed!!!
If that is not enough here is some more. This is his best CD yet, and he is truly anointed by G-d to praise & worship. Let me tell you the best song is Hosanna, and I mean the best anointed praise I have ever heard and I am into praise and worship music. He is truly gifted. There is also a song called 911 with Bishop Jakes, please buy this CD. You will not find another CD like this and all his CD's are anointed.

Let me tell you always when G-d has someone he wishes to use as a vessel of honour- they want to stop you. Be encouraged my brothers and sisters in Christ. You are not alone. And Kriks Franklin's CD will tell you so- buy this so you can have your own re-discovery-rejoice-and rebirth.

Awesome
Even though I've owned the CD for quite some time now, the DVD still felt like a totally new experience for me. It's as if I had not heard the CD before. The DVD just let's you experience the anointing that was present during the recording. Also, unlike the Commissioned Reunion DVD this DVD had behind the scenes looks. Even letting us know that Shirley Caesar is a Lakers' fan. Of course the songs were great and I was able to witness the unique atmosphere of this project. Not to mention that Kirk Franklin is a complete cut-up. He ran around the stage and jumped up and down all night. The singers were awesome, the band played magnificently, and it's always nice when you get a chance to capture the emotion behind the singing. It just makes you get into it. This is a great buy. If you have the CD and you love the CD, the DVD just puts it over the top! Peace and Blessings

Kelly Clarkson is a True Talent!!!!
I absolutely loved this DVD, but I wish there were more live performances like when she was on her mini tour. Nevertheless, it is a great DVD to own because it's all about the true #1 American Idol herself, Kelly Clarkson. You can't go wrong by buying this DVD, so buy it now!!!!

Awesome dvd...great buy!
I love it. All of the performances on the dvd were amazing. Each one of 'em showed a different side of Kelly and the girl definitely has talent. The behind the scenes footage of her video shoot and her photo shoot is great. I cannot stop watching the photo shoot because her face is just so pleasant to look at. She's definitely sexy and classy at the same time...she doesn't need to wear skimpy clothes in order to get attention. Her grace, her beauty, her class, and her confidence is what the music industry needs.

kelly has "TRUE TALENT"!!!!!!!!!!!!
She does not need to show off her skin to get peoples attention! Instead she simply opens her mouth and belts out a song and that makes a "TRUE" artist!!!!!!!!!!
KELLY HAS THE SASS AND THE CLASS!!!!!!!!!
GO KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUY THIS DVD TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
