Satanik
Released in DVD by Ventura Distribution (25 February, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Piero Vivarelli
Average review score:

Erotic Eurotrash Jekyll and Hyde
Magda Konopka plays a scarred female guinea pig who finagles a youth rejeuvenating drug that turns her into a ravishing Pam Anderson-lookalike stripper. She romances the ugliest Spanish gigolos ever filmed and then disposes of them (well, why not?).
The sets and outfits are 70's mod/Vogue Magazine eurotrash at it's gaudiest and foxiest. Konopka is a eurohottie and the fact that she never became a big star is a super question mark.

A Gordon Liu classic!
Just when you think one has seen all on the Master Killer,a gem like this comes along!
Gordon plays a monk at Shaolin Temple who is teaching two young kids. They a re naughty and wind up in Hong Kong, where the adventure begins.
Gordon goes looking for them and the action is a terrific blend of classic kung fu mixed with modern day technology.
Gordon's end fight with Shaw villian Wang Lung Wei is worth the price of the DVD alone!
The Shaolin Kids are also terrific, especially with weapons.
The extras include a great documentary on the Shaw Studios hosted by David Chiang.
The DVD is hosted by Shaw Star Philip Ko Fei,who gives a great demonstration and great interview.
Only drawback is the film is presented in fullscreen format.
A definite addition for thge collection.

Terrafirma 7 - Project MX

~Wicked Awesome~
Being a big fan of riders such as Ricky Carmichael and Travis Pastrana, I was pretty stoked when I heard Fox released a new dvd for the Terrafirma series. If you are a fan of RC, just the extra feature on the dvd "Kids on the couch" is worth the whole thing. Footage of RC, Travis, and James Stewart from childhood was hilarious. The feature presentation was awesome too, showing new fmx moves from all the faves and some new stuff from Loretta Lynn Nationals is pretty cool. Cool for big Mx fans or little ones!!!

Timeline - The War Years, 1939-1945

If this gets reissued, don't miss your chance again!
First off, let me say that I'm a firm believer in not buying DVD's issued by "no name" publishers...Whirlwind Media/Ryoko, in this case. However, everyone gets it "right" once in awhile, and this set proves it. Most of the video archives are pleasantly sharp in focus, and the few that aren't can be forgiven due to the age of the source material. This chronical of the War Years was extremely interesting, as the video is not dry textbook stuff, but the very same newsreels that Americans at Home watched in movie theatres during the war. In addition, each of the discs contain hours of material (more, I think, than is advertised)...there's the video, then a whole section devoted to the music of each year (focusing on a few artists each time), and finally radio recordings, including news broadcasts, speeches from Churchill, Roosevelt, and others, and even movie trailers of the day.

I can't believe no one else has ever reviewed this DVD set here, and I'm sorry to see it's apparently out of print, but if you ever get the chance to get this set again...don't miss it!
