Good little crime thriller; spectacular DVD
The only aspect of Max Allan Collins' previous movie thrillers that betrayed their low-budget origins was the fact that they were shot on videotape instead of film. Here, however, the very premise of the movie ingeniously embraces the fact that the medium employed is video. Specifically, "Real Time: Siege at Lucas Street Market" has as its central conceit the notion that "found footage" from various sources- principally store surveillance cameras and local news reports- was assembled and edited to tell the dramatic story of a convenience store robbery and hostage situation in a small Iowa town. In other words, as writer and director Collins freely admits, he used the "Blair Witch" mock documentary/found footage technique, only this time in the service of a crime thriller instead of a horror movie. The result is a pretty entertaining little film that, at 72 minutes, doesn't permit its central gimmick of seeing most of the action through mini-mart security cameras overstay its welcome. The neat thing about this DVD, though, is that the movie itself is only half the fun. There are loads of extras, including (but not limited to!) the following: three separate commentary tracks by Mr. Collins, his actors, and his technical people, respectively; an audiobook version of "Inconvenience Store", the original Collins short story that inspired the film; a complete "Ms. Tree" comic book adventure, as Mr. Collins' "Ms. Tree" detective character (originally created for the comics) was the protagonist in the previously-noted short story; trailers to "Real Time" and previous Collins films "Mommy" and "Mommy II"; and an ambitious multi-angle feature that allows restless viewers to change camera views at will (switching from one "security camera" to another) while watching the movie. So, in short, this DVD is recommended for the gritty, clever movie, but especially recommended for fans of Mr. Collins' novels, movies, and comics work, as the various supplementary materials give the viewer a wealth of archival material, fascinating anecdotes, and other background information about Mr. Collins and his work. And, oh yes, you can't beat the price.

Crap with Dad's Camcorder
If I were ever to meet director Brian Clement. I'd tell him to give the camcorder back to his parents. And go back to film school. Ever since Clement has been spam posting all over the net, promoting his badly made, very low rent, oh so original zombie flick, I've wanted to see it. I figured it could at least be entertaining. The way fanboys(not to mention Clement) with no life go on about it you'd think it was the second coming in the realm of zombie films. Dawn of the Dead, the Italian zombie flicks, and the Resident Evil games, have been done, Brian. And Well. Don't keep charging for viewing them,if you can't take the criticism.

Here's the plot, we follow a guy and a girl as they try and survive making they're way through George Romero land. Along the way they meet up with a Mexican wrestler and a trio of vampire chicks.Boring, did I mention VERY derivative? plotting.Godawful acting. Ludicrous in the extreme. But it has some decent gore effects. I'll give the film that much. Hence the one star.

ignore the bad reviews!
Starts off when a epidemic spreads and the zombies are taking over a city. Two military types (20 year old kids) must try to keep the dirt from hitting the fan but apparently they fail. Days pass and the zombies have overtaking the city. The military types must now investigate the situation and end up meeting a wounded soldier, 3 lesbian vampires, and a mexican wrestler. They all now must fight against the zombies that plague the city.

An awsome b-movie. Well done zombie make-up, kick ... gore, and hot vampires. Sex and zombies, just the way I like it. You ever find this film, get it, it's really good. God I want those vampire chicks. Oh yeah and the plot is desent. :)

not as good as the first but good enough
The movie continues a year later after the MM1 to where the same army chick, one of the lesbian vampires and a dude with a patch on his eye go around in the zombie infested city. They end up getting captured by some dorky-looking chick and taken to a base where the military kill diseased people, experiment on the disabled, and sign up who ever isn't diseased of disabled. Then there's a autopsy guy who does human inerds and skulls. Then the hot chick investigates the whole thing. Then it progresses on until zombies within the base break free and kill off all the soldiers. Then the lesbian vampire and the hot chick escape with the help of the ghost of the Mexican Wrestler.

A DECENT SEQUEL! NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST! I thought they weren't even trying in this one and didn't even try at all to make a good sequel (hence Hollywood and their sequels) but it's good enough I suppose. The only flaw this movie suffered was the return of that Mexican wrestler. THAT WAS STUPID! Other than that, wonderful.
